High intensivity effects to young 18- 24 aged people physical activity and mental capacity.
Recently, in most countries of the world, including Lithuania, there is an increasing emphasis on the impact and benefits of physical activity on the mental capacity of young people aged 18–24, but there is a tendency for the number of physically active young people to decline steadily each year. The aim - to determine whether the physical effects of exercise affect 18-24 year olds mental capacity of young people. Tasks: 1. To analyze the description of physical activity and to discuss the benefits of physical activity for young people’s functional status and mental activity. 2. To review the exercise, methods, methods and forms of physical activity applied to young people aged 18–24. 3. To investigate the effect of residual Vingate load at 18–24 years mental capacity for young people. Object of the study: After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria from all young people, healthy, physically active young people aged 22.2 ± 2.0 years (n = 13, height 184.2 ± 6.3 cm, weight 86) were included in the study, 2 ± 8.0 kg). Exercise - 6 maximum intensity cycling ergometric load tests in a row, with 4 minutes of rest between them. Indicators were recorded during the study: lactate, cortisol, glucose concentration. In addition, indirect muscle damage was recorded during the study: before, 45, 90 min, 6 and 24 h after exercise and involuntary (20 and 100 Hz electrostimulation) quadriceps muscle contraction force per muscle. Low frequency fatigue is assessed at a ratio of 20/100 Hz. Research methodology: The subjects got acquainted with the research process and tests. Cognitive function was assessed in the morning on the day of the study, and saliva and blood samples were taken. Intervention was performed after control measurements. Subjects performed 6 peak-intensity cycling ergometric load tests in a row, with 4 minutes of rest between them. Bicycle ergometric load test evaluation according to the Borg scale used for the subjective evaluation of the intensity of physical activity before and after the 6-min test. The Borg Scale measures fatigue from physical activity to their intensity from 6-20. The functional condition of the cardiovascular system of the subjects was assessed by a 6-minute peel test, objectively measuring the heart rate (heart rate) (heart rate) per minute. Measurements of lactate and glucose were performed at 5 min, 45 min, 90 min, 6 and 24 h after reassessment of cognitive function. after intervention. For repeated assessment of cognitive function, cortisol measurements were taken at 90 minutes and after 24 hours. Scientific Hypothesis: Exercise is likely to affect the mental capacity of 18-24 year olds. The year of the investigation was established. An evaluation of the onset of sound response after residual Vingate in adolescents aged 18 to 24 years showed a reduction in sound response and an increase in the speed of sound 24 hours after the test. An assessment of the highest heart rate achieved by young people aged 18–24 years and the results of the Borg scale showed that the average power of young people began to decline after a residual Vingate workout, and the heart rate fluctuated unevenly, with the Borg score rising steadily. An analysis of the results of the Wingeit test showed that before and immediately after the test, the heart rate and electroencephalogram of the subjects remained almost unchanged, and halved after 24 hours. A computerized ANAM cognitive test package (ANAM automated set of neuropsychological computer tests) was used to systematize and process the results of the tests collected during the tests. Conclusion. The results of the tests showed that the physical performance of young people increased, their perception of sound and their mental activity improved with the application of physical activity
Relationships between eco friendly behavior and physical activity in senior students.
Research problem: Environmental problems and lack of physical activity are among the main topics discussed in today’s society. Vazifehdoust et al. (2013) found that 65 percent. consumers say they would like to buy more environmentally friendly products, but only 26% it does. According to the World Health Organization (2019), 1 in 4 men and 1 in 3 women in the world are physically inactive, which means at least 1.4 billion physically inactive people. Because eco-friendly products tend to be healthier and more natural, and eco-friendly travel on foot, by bike / scooter, or on public transportation is more likely to require more physical activity, we believe there are significant links between eco-friendly behavior and physical activity. Objective: To determine the relationship between ecologically friendly behavior and physical activity in senior students. Research tasks : 1. To evaluate the attitude of students in grades 9-12 towards ecologically friendly behavior. 2. To determine the level of physical activity of students in grades 9-12. 3. Identify the links between ecologically friendly behavior and physical activity among students in grades 9-12. Hypothesis: We believe that eco-friendly behavior is related to students ’physical activity. Higher physical activity leads to more ecologically friendly behavior and, conversely, less physical activity negatively affects the importance of ecology in life. Research methods: 1. Review of scientific literature 2. Questionnaire survey 3. Statistical data analysis. Results and conclusions: 1. After evaluating the provisions of ecologically friendly behavior of Lithuanian senior students, a favorable attitude of the respondents towards environmentally friendly behavior was established. 2. After assessing the level of physical activity of Lithuanian senior students, it was established that 39.8%. subjects do not achieve moderate intensity physical activity in their daily activities and 59.9 % subjects do not achieve high intensity physical activity in their daily activities. 3. During the performed correlation analysis, no statistically significant correlations were found between ecologically friendly behavior and physical activity of Lithuanian senior students
The relation between physical education teachers’ health literacy and lifestyle.
Problem of the research - the health literacy and health-related lifestyle education of people whose professional activities are related to the development of a healthy lifestyle are healthfriendly and have a direct relation with each other. Aim of the research – The relation between physical education teachers’ health literacy and lifestyle. Task: 1. To determine the health literacy of physical education teachers; 2. To determine lifestyle peculiarities of physical education teachers; 3. To determine the links between health literacy and lifestyle characteristics of physical education teachers Research methods – the research participants were physical education teachers aged 23-65. The questionnaire was used to determine the subjects’ evaluation score for health care, disease prevention and health improvement. The Godin leisure physical activity questionnaire (Godin, G., Shephard, R. J. 1997) was used to evaluate and determine the level of physical activity. The questions for assessing harmful habits and diet were chosen from a lifestyle survey conducted by Grabauskas and others., 2014. The results were processed using IBM SPSS 22.0 computer program. Results – The research involved 101 physical education teachers with an average age of 44,65±11,68 years. 31 % of the subjects were men and 69% - women. The majority of surveyed teachers demonstrated adequate health literacy (47,8%) and 34,8% were very good. Only 17,4% of subjects had insufficient or problematic health literacy. The physical activity score for men (47,48±26,25) is higher than women (40,51±30,74). Lower skilled physical education teachers’ body mass index (BMI) was lower than higher skilled teachers’. The average of the lower qualification was 23,88±4,34 whilst the average of the higher qualification was 25,56±3,07. The average for physical score of the first health literacy group was 24,88±20,69 and 37,71±26,60 for the second group. The subjects within the first group eat healthier than educators in the second group. Teachers with lower health literacy smoke less than those with higher health literacy. Teachers within the second group consume alcohol leas often than teachers in the first group. 33,7% of surveyed teachers describe their diet as unhealthy and 66,3% believe they eat healthy. 80% choose healthier but more expensive food and only 20% of teachers choose the cheaper option. Conclusion: 1. To summarise, it can be noted that the majority of the subjects have a high level of literacy however the physical activity score of women is lower than that of men. Comparing the subjects with sufficient and insufficient health literacy, it can be identified that the habits of healthy eating and the use of harmful habits do not have a sufficient effect on a person’s health literacy. The study found no clear links between health literacy and lifestyle among physical education teachers
The mediating role of competitiveness between entrepreneurial challenges and willingness of female business graduates /
This research examines the challenges of female business graduate entrepreneurs; we have developed a modified conceptual framework in which willingness to become an entrepreneur has been taken as a dependent variable. However, financial, cultural, marketing, and technological challenges are independent variables. Additionally, we incorporated competitiveness as a mediation variable between independent and dependent variables. The competitiveness could be beneficial to the female business graduates’ entrepreneurs and might be reduced by their financial, marketing, cultural, and technological challenges. The data was collected through a modified structured questionnaire from the entrepreneurs of female business graduates. The information was collected from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka; we have collected 386 responses for the period from February 2021 to July 2021. We employed a structural equation modelingbased (SEM-based) multivariate approach and conditional process modeling for the data analysis. The findings of this research exhibit that the financial challenges, cultural challenges, marketing challenges, and technological challenges have a significant negative impact on female business entrepreneurs. These are the constraints that restrict female business graduates’ entrepreneurial opportunities. On the other hand, the mediation analysis showed that competitiveness has a positive and significant impact between financial challenges, cultural challenges, marketing challenges, & technological challenges, and willingness to become an entrepreneur. The perfect mediation of competitiveness established that the business success of SMEs does not rely on the individuals’ competencies and success factors only, but organizational competitiveness is equally essential for organizational performance
Exploring assessment of students in physical education: nationally representative survey of school community in Lithuania /
Assessment in physical education lessons remains a relevant issue both among practitioners and in scientific discourse. There is also no consensus in Lithuania on the assessment of students in physical education lessons. Thus, the aim of the present study was to investigate Lithuanian students’, their parents’, teachers’ and school administrators’ opinions on the assessment in physical education. A total of 4073 participants (1497 students of 9-10th grades, 1498 parents, 317 physical education teachers, 443 teachers of other teaching subjects, and 318 school administrators) from different schools in Lithuania participated in a questionnaire survey. It was found that from the perspective of the study participants, effort and progress should be assessed most in physical education, then physical fitness, knowledge, and motor skills. The most important criteria for cumulative assessment of students in physical education lessons should be students’ progress and achievements, activity in classes and attendance, with knowledge being considered the least important criterion. The study results highlighted the importance of encouraging teachers to more actively communicate learning goals as well as involve students into the evaluation processes
Оцінка інтегрованих інновацій в організаціях сільського туризму.
With such heightened awareness of innovation within a tourism industry, the factors to improve economic growth and trajectory of an organization is said to be critically dependent upon whether an organization chooses to implement innovation into their business strategy. Innovation is recognized as one of the most determining factors in the improvement of competitiveness, becoming a powerful explanatory factor of the differences between countries, regions and companies in terms of their economic growth. Thus, implying that in order to be competitive amongst competitors across nations, regions and towns, innovation is key. It also instinctively raises the question of if innovation is the key then what does it unlock? For example, if innovation is important, does it unlock the knowledge to understand challenges faced by rural organizations when integrating innovation and how to solve them? Or does it provide an organization with a specific way to measure its ability to integrate innovation into its business structure? In order to assess these questions, the purpose of the research is to evaluate integrated innovations within rural tourism organizations. The research object isthe integrated innovation. The objectives of the work are to define the types, classifications and determinants of innovation; analyze rural tourism organizations’ in Lithuania and their ability to implement innovation by examining its readiness and challenges; determine integrated innovations in rural tourism organizations through methods of measuring innovation. The research is based on the analysis on the types of innovation – product innovation, organizational innovation and service innovation – on the works of Volo (2006), Fagerberg and Godinho (2006), Hjalager (2002). As well Burgelman et al. (2004), Furr & Dyer’s (2014), Ries (2011), Najda-Janoszka & Kopera (2014) and Koen et al., (2001) who examine the main methods used to measure integrated innovation within rural tourism of classifications, determining factors and developmental theories about innovation and its relationship with the tourism sector. Research methods are scientific literature analysis, questionnaire survey, descriptive statistical data analysis. Results of the research. When determining an organization’s readiness/capability to implement innovations, important characteristics and distinctions are used to conclude if an organization is considered to be a part of the “innovative ready group” or “non-innovative ready group”. An evaluation such as this, also highlights a company’s strengths and weaknesses, which enables the organization to understand what challenges need to be overcome and what can be left as is. More importantly, by using methods such as the Innovator’s Methods and IC-Index structures, businesses can make informed decisions about integrated innovations within their business
Social capital promotes a healthier diet among young adults by reducing psychological distress /
Studies have revealed the links between social capital and diet. However, the mediating role of psychological distress in this relationship has been understudied. This study aims to identify direct and indirect relationships between social capital and adherence to the Mediterranean diet among Lithuanian young adults and identify the mediating role of psychological distress in this relationship. Data were collected from 1336 young adults, aged 18–36 years; 40.5% were males. MEDAS was used to measure adherence to a healthy diet. Social capital was measured by eight separate items in terms of family support, social support, social cohesion, social trust, communication, collaboration, participation, and distant communication. Kessler’s six-item scale was used to assess psychological distress. Higher family support (β = 0.105), higher social participation (β = 0.294), and lower psychological distress (β = 0.073) directly predicted higher adherence to the Mediterranean diet. Social capital was indirectly related to adherence to the Mediterranean diet, with standardized effect sizes of 0.02–0.04, indicating small effect sizes. Thus, psychological distress mediates the relationship between social capital and a healthy diet. Given that social capital is related to psychological health and both directly and indirectly predicts healthy behavior in young adults, further longitudinal and experimental research is required to measure the effects of the intervention on incorporating, facilitating, encouraging, and implementing measures to strengthen the social connection between people and groups of people within the community, neighborhood, and organizations
Performance factors that negatively influence shooting efficiency in women’s basketball /
The purpose of the present study was to examine the influence of selected factors (possession duration, game quarter, defensive pressure, shooting distance from the basket, and heart rate level) on shooting efficiency on Under-19 (U19) and senior level of women's basketball competition (second division). The analysis procedures included five U19 and six senior-level games, containing 224 and 252 shooting attempts, respectively. Binary logistic regression identified the opponent's defensive pressure and shooting distance from the basket as significant predictors of shooting efficiency in both categories. When defensive pressure was high, the chance for the missed shot was 3.5 (95% CI; 1.43-8.52) and 3.19 (95% CI; 1.4-7.26) times more likely than it was under the minimum defensive pressure for U19 and senior category, respectively. Shooting efficiency significantly decreased when the horizontal distance from the basket increased. In U19, a chance for a missed shot was 4.63 (95% CI; 2-10.712) and 5.15 (95% CI; 1.91-13.86) times higher for medium and long-distance (respectively), compared to short-range shooting. In the senior category, the chance for the missed shot was 3.9 (95% CI; 1.83-8.31) and 3.27 (95% CI; 1.43-7.52) times higher for medium and long-distance (respectively) when compared to a short distance. The possession duration, game quarter, and heart rate level were identified as insignificant predictors. Therefore, the aforementioned findings suggest that basketball players and coaches may benefit from designing training sessions where the defender puts pressure on the shooting player as in a real game situation and balanced the frequency of shooting from different distances from the basket
Protocol for a randomised controlled trial to investigate the effects of vitamin K2 on recovery from muscle-damaging resistance exercise in young and older adults—the TAKEOVER study /
Regular participation in resistance exercise is known to have broad-ranging health benefits and for this reason is prominent in the current physical activity guidelines. Recovery after such exercise is important for several populations across the age range and nutritional strategies to enhance recovery and modulate post-exercise physiological processes are widely studied, yet effective strategies remain elusive. Vitamin K2 supplementation has emerged as a potential candidate, and the aim of the current study, therefore, is to test the hypothesis that vitamin K2 supplementation can accelerate recovery, via modulation of the underlying physiological processes, following a bout of resistance exercise in young and older adults
Modulation of neuromuscular excitability in response to acute noxious heat exposure has no additional effects on central and peripheral fatigability /
Background: Whole-body hyperthermia (WBH) has an adverse effect on the nervous system and neurophysiological performance. In the present study, we examined whether short-duration whole-body immersion in 45°C water (HWI-45°C), which produces a strong neural and temperature flux without inducing WBH, can increase or impair neurophysiological performance in humans. Methods: Fifteen men (aged 25 ± 6 years) were enrolled in this study and participated in three experiments: 1) a brief (5-min) immersion of the whole body in 37°C water (WI-37°C); 2) a brief (5-min) HWI-45°C; and 3) a control trial in a thermoneutral condition at an ambient temperature of 24°C and 60% relative humidity. Before and after the immersions, neuromuscular function (electromyographic activity, reflexes, electrically and voluntary induced torque production, voluntary muscle activation level) were tested. To provoke central inhibition, the participants performed a sustained 2-min maximal voluntary contraction (MVC). Results: Thermophysiological strain was greater after HWI-45°C than after WI-37°C. Electrophysiological modulations of motor drive transmission and peripheral modulations of muscle contractility properties in response to HWI-45°C seemed to have little effect on central activation of the exercising muscles and no effect on MVC production. Conclusion: Although exposure to acute noxious heat was effective in evoking neuromuscular excitability, the increases in core temperature (∼0.2°C) and muscle temperature (∼0.6°C) did not induce moderate or severe WBH. These changes did not seem to affect central structures; that is, there were no additional increases in central and/or peripheral fatigue during a sustained 2-min MVC
