Experimental investigation of the effect of mass load on flight performance of an octorotor and dodecarotor UAV
In this study, the flight performance of a universal Vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with 12 and 8 rotors was examined under load and no-load conditions. Thanks to its universal structure, experimental studies with 8 and 12 rotor UAVs were performed on the same platform and under the same conditions. In addition, the controller parameters were kept the same for both vehicle types in order to observe the effect of the mass load only. Hierarchical PID controllers are used as the controller architecture to control the orientation and position of the both vehicles. The flight performance of both vehicles was examined in three stages as take-off, trajectory and landing. Settling time, rise time parameters and position errors were used to benchmark the flight performance of the both vehicles. The results show that the performance of the 12-rotor vehicle is superior, especially in terms of trajectory tracking performance although the take-off and landing performance is very close to each other for both vehicles. This was observed more clearly under load conditions
Immobilized palladium nanoparticles on Schiff base functionalized ZnAl layered double hydroxide: A highly stable and retrievable heterogeneous nanocatalyst towards aryl halide cyanations
In this study, a new nanocatalyst system with economical, environmental, moisture, and air-stable features was developed through immobilization of Pd nanoparticles (Pd NPs) on Schiff base-functionalized Zn-Al layered double hydroxide (ZnAl LDH-Sch). The system was named as Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch, and its structure was fully authenticated with several techniques. The catalytic potential of Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch nanocatalyst was then evaluated in the aryl halide cyanations for the fabrication of various benzonitriles using K4[Fe(CN)6]. These tests indicated that Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch nanocatalyst is tolerant against various functional groups, and the desired benzonitrile products were acquired with good to high yields within 2 h. The hot filtration experiment revealed that Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch acts heterogeneously in the reactions. Because of its heterogeneous manner, Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch was readily recovered via simple filtration and reused up to 11 successive runs by protecting its stability/durability. Moreover, it was found that the synthesized Pd NPs@ZnAl LDH-Sch nanocatalyst shows a performance in the aryl halide cyanations better than other reported catalysts
Investigation of mineral nutrient and heavy metal accumulation status of senecio Vernalis Waldst. & Kit. collected from different habitats of Aksaray/Turkey
In this study, Senecio vernalis Waldst. & Kit. was analyzed to determine a phytoremediation potential and nutritional contents are estimated. The plant and soil samples were collected between Karaoren and Karkin villages in Aksaray in May (2021). The mineral contents (Al, Ba, Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Ni, P, S, Zn) of the collected plant and soil samples were determined by ICP-MS and the obtained data were analyzed statistically. In soil, Ca, Fe, K and Zn values were in the optimal value whereas Al, Cu, Mg, Mn and Ni values were above the optimal values. This means that there is bioaccumulation of these heavy metals (Al, Cu, Mg, Mn and Ni) in the soil. Likewise, the concentrations of Ca, Cu, K, Mn and Zn in the plant were among the optimum values, while Al, Fe, Mg, and Ni ratios were higher than the quantification limit. The rate of these metals in the roots and other shoots of the plant are higher than in the soil. Our results showed that Senecio vernalis is a very good accumulator of Fe, Mg and Ni, and also the phytoextraction and phytoremediation ability of the plant is high
The effect of medication adherence on psychosocial adjustment to body weight, image, and self-esteem in patients with schizophrenia
Purpose: The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of medication adherence on psychosocial adjustment to body weight, image, and self-esteem in patients with schizophrenia.
Design and methods: This cross-sectional and correlational study consisted of 154 patients with schizophrenia registered in a Community Mental Health Center.
Findings: The patients had moderate psychosocial adjustment to body weight, image, and self-esteem, and 56.5% had poor medication adherence. There was a significant positive correlation between participants' medication adherence and psychosocial adjustment to body weight, image, and self-esteem.
Practice implications: Psychiatric nurses should support patients regarding medication adherence, and psychosocial adjustment to body weight, image, and self-esteem.

A new augmentation method for improved screw fixation in fragile bone
Pertrochanteric fractures (TF) due to osteoporosis constitute nearly half of all proximal femur fractures. TFs are treated with a surgical approach and fracture fixation is achieved using metallic fixation devices. Poor quality cancellous bone in osteoporotic patients makes anchorage of a fixation device challenging, which can lead to failure of the fracture fixation. Methods to reinforce the bone-implant interface using bone cement (PMMA) and other calcium phosphate cements in TFs have been described earlier but a clear evidence on the advantage of using such biomaterials for augmentation is weak. Furthermore, there is no standardized technique for delivering these biomaterials at the bone-implant interface. In this study, we firstly describe a method to deliver a calcium sulphate/hydroxyapatite (CaS/HA) based biomaterial for the augmentation of a lag-screw commonly used for TF fixation. We then used an osteoporotic Sawbones model to study the consequence of CaS/HA augmentation on the immediate mechanical anchorage of the lag-screw to osteoporotic bone. Finally, as a proof-of-concept, the method of delivering the CaS/HA biomaterial at the bone-implant interface as well as spreading of the CaS/HA material at this interface was tested in patients undergoing treatment for TF as well as in donated femoral heads. The mechanical testing results indicated that the CaS/HA based biomaterial increased the peak extraction force of the lag-screw by 4 times compared with un-augmented lag-screws and the results were at par with PMMA. The X-ray images from the patient series showed that it was possible to inject the CaS/HA material at the bone-implant interface without applying additional pressure and the CaS/HA material spreading was observed at the interface of the lag-screw threads and the bone. Finally, the spreading of the CaS/HA material was also verified on donated femoral heads and micro-CT imaging indicated that the entire length of the lag-screw threads was covered with the CaS/HA biomaterial. In conclusion, we present a novel method for augmenting a lag-screw in TFs, which could potentially reduce the risk of fracture fixation failure and reoperation in fragile osteoporotic patients
Multi-dimensional determinants of cancer incidence, cancer deaths and cancer-related years of life lost
Objective: The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of lifestyle, the environmental, health services, and demographic characteristics on cancer incidence, cancer deaths, and cancer-relat-ed years of life lost.
Materials and Methods: The population of the study is composed of 36 OECD countries. All variables used in the study were examined under four dimensions: lifestyle, environmental, health services, and demographics. The OECD database was used to obtain data on the variables used in the study over five-year periods (2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015). In order to reveal the variables af-fecting cancer incidence, cancer deaths, and cancer-related years of life lost, ordinary least squares regression analysis was used.
Results: In consideration of research findings, the incidence of cancer is affected by variables re-lated to lifestyle, environmental, and health services; cancer deaths and lost life years were affected by variables related to lifestyle and health services. Also, while lifestyle variables were more effective on cancer in the 2000s, in the following years, both lifestyle variables and health service-related vari-ables were found to be effective.
Conclusions: This finding shows that the effect of health services on individuals' health levels is increasing compared to the past
The moderator role of transactional analysis ego states in the relationship between emotional intelligence and service orientation

olarak yaşandığı otellerde çalışanların iletişim gücü, hizmetin etkinliğini ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Ayrıca,
çalışanların duygu yönetimi de sunulan hizmetin başarısını etkileyen göstergelerden biridir. Buradan
hareketle; araştırmanın amacı duygusal zeka ile hizmet oryantasyonluluğu ilişkisinde transaksiyonel
analiz ego durumlarının düzenleyicilik etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda, Muğla ilinde faaliyet
gösteren 4 ve 5 yıldızlı otel çalışanlarından anket uygulaması ile 960 veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma
sonuçlarına göre; hizmet oryantasyonluluk üzerinde duygusal zeka boyutlarından başkalarının
duygularını değerlendirme ve duyguların kullanımının pozitif etkisinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca,
araştırmanın ana amacı doğrultusundaki analiz sonuçlarına göre; duygusal zeka boyutlarından
başkalarının duygularını değerlendirme ve duyguların kullanımı ile hizmet oryantasyonluluk ilişkisinde
doğal çocuk ve isyankar çocuk ego durumu haricinde tüm ego durumlarının (eleştirel ebeveyn,
destekleyici ebeveyn, yetişkin, itaatkar çocuk) düzenleyici etkisi bulunmuştur.Communication skill is an important component for evaluating a service. Communication power of
employees reveals effectiveness of a service in hotels where employees have intense interaction with
customers. Also, emotional management of employees is one of the indicators affecting service success.
Hence; the aim of the study is to examine whether transactional analysis ego states have an moderating
effect on relationship between emotional intelligence and service orientation. Accordingly, 960 data were
collected through questionnaire technic from 4 and 5 star hotel employees in Muğla. The results of the
study were determined that others’ emotion appraisal and use of emotion dimension of emotional
intelligence have positive effect on service orientation. Analysis results in line with the main purpose of
study were detected that all of the ego states (critical parent, nurturing parent, adult, compliant child)
except free child and rebellious child have a moderating effect on relationship others’ emotion appraisal
and use of emotion dimension of emotional intelligence and service orientation
METHOD VALIDATION AND PREVALENCE OF L. Monocytogenes CONTAMINATION IN GROUND BEEF WITH VIDAS: AS AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD COMPARED WITH ISO 11290
L. monocytogenes, which is recognized among the leading foodborne pathogen has been identified as the causative agent of listeriosis, which causes important symptoms such as abortion, septicemia, and meningitis. In the first stage of our study, the effectiveness of VIDAS LMO2 and ISO 11290:1 methods, which are frequently used today in the diagnosis of this pathogen, were compared in artificially contaminated samples. In the second stage, the presence of L. monocytogenes in ground beef samples sold in the market was revealed by both methods. According to the data achieved in the study, the relative sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, false positive, and false negative of the VIDAS LMO2 method against ISO 11290-1:2017 was found 99.236%, 73,684%, 90%, 0.263%, and 0.007% in ground beef, respectively. Although no significant difference was detected between the two methods, VIDAS LMO2 was found to be superior in terms of analysis time. Since it is known that rapid and reliable diagnosis is very important in food poisoning, the VIDAS method can be preferred more desirable due to this superiority
The determination of the effect of in ovo administered monosodium glutamate on the embryonic development of thymus and bursa of Fabricius and percentages of alpha-naphthyl acetate esterase positive lymphocyte in chicken
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancer commonly used in modern nutrition. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of in ovo administered MSG on the embryonic development of thymus, bursa of Fabricius, and percentages of alpha-naphthyl acetate esterase (ANAE) positive lymphocyte by using histological, histometrical, and enzyme histochemical methods in chickens. For this purpose, 410 fertile eggs were used. The eggs were then divided into five groups: group 1 (control group, n = 40 eggs), group 2 (distilled water-injected group, n = 62 eggs), group 3 (0.12 mg/g egg MSG-injected group, n = 80 eggs), group 4 (0.6 mg/g egg MSG-injected group, n = 90 eggs), and group 5 (1.2 mg/g egg MSG-injected group, n = 138 eggs), and injections were performed via the egg yolk. On the 18th and 21st days of the incubation, the eggs were randomly opened from each group until six live embryos were obtained. The embryos of each group were sacrificed by decapitation, and blood, thymus, and bursa of Fabricius tissue samples were taken from the obtained embryos. The MSG-treated groups were found to be retarded embryonic development of thymus and bursa of Fabricius tissue compared to the control and distilled water groups. MSG treatment also resulted in reduced lymphoid follicles count and follicle diameters in bursa of Fabricius (P < 0.05). The percentage of peripheral blood ANAE positive lymphocytes was significantly lower in the MSG-treated groups than in the control and distilled water groups (P < 0.05). In conclusion, it has been found that in ovo administered MSG can adversely affect the embryonic development of thymus and bursa of Fabricius and decrease percentage of ANAE positive lymphocyte
Macroanatomical and morphometric study on the skull bones of Aksaray Malakli dogs
The skull is an important anatomical structure to discern dog breeds and wolves from dogs. For this purpose, skull morphology and some morphometric measurements of Malakli dogs, a local breed in the Aksaray region, were examined. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-two distances were measured and seven ratios calculated in nine skulls of adult dogs. In our study, different morphological features and statistical findings that were not revealed by taking measurements from 32 distinct anatomical points of Aksaray Malakli dog skull bones were determined in accordance with the literature. RESULTS: Processus zygomaticus was found to be long and pointed in the Aksaray Malakli dogs. The results of morphometric analysis were as follows: facial index value 107.68 ± 4.98, nasal index value 19.61 ± 3.25, cranial index value 56.17 ± 2.52, basal index value 30.57 ± 1.30, skull index 54.68 ± 3.01, palatal index I value 56.76 ± 1.89 and palatal index II value 59.83 ± 2.23. CONCLUSIONS: It can be concluded form the present investigation that the neurocranium length, facial index, cranial index, basal index, skull index, and palatal index values were statistically different from other dog breeds
