On (k,mu)-Paracontact Manifold Satisfying Some Curvature Conditions
In this work, we studied the curvature tensors of (k,mu) satisfying the conditions widetildeZ(xi,alpha3)cdotP=0, widetildeZ(xi,alpha3)cdotS=0, R(xi,alpha3)cdotP=0, R(xi,alpha3)cdotS=0 and PcdotC=0. Besides this, we classify (k,mu)-paracontact manifolds. Also we researched conformally flat and phi-conformally flat a (k,mu)−paracontact metric manifolds
Geochemical investigation of soil quality in terms of toxic elements using an AHP-based index
In this study, a new Ecological Soil Pollution Index (ESPI) and the associated classification system for this index have been proposed to determine the pollution potential of soil. ESPI was designed using eight elements, namely arsenic, lead, cadmium, nickel, copper, zinc, chromium and cobalt. ESPI, calculated based on the AHP method, is categorized into four classes inspired by the recommendation of some international organizations such as World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization. ESPI classes based on performance scores of samples are “No pollution,” “Low pollution risk,” “Medium pollution risk” and “High pollution risk.” According to ESPI calculations, the element with the highest efficiency in the hierarchy is arsenic with a weight ratio of 32%, whereas the lowest values are 3.4% and 2.4% for chromium and cobalt, respectively. 5.5% of the soil samples have a high pollution risk, 5.5% medium pollution and 40.7% low pollution risk, whereas 48.3% do not have a pollution risk. Based on the distribution maps, the areas with high pollution potential are located in the north, northwest and southeast of the study area, which is due to the high arsenic, lead and cadmium weight values in the model hierarchy. The correlation coefficients between ESPI and some other indexes indicate that ESPI can produce similar results to them. As a result, ESPI is a user-friendly method that can produce reliable results by combining large numbers of data under a single score

Penetran abdominal ateşli silah yaralanması olan Suriyeli mülteci çocuklarda mortalite ve morbidite için risk faktörleri: Bir yıllık deneyim
Despite improvements in technology and surgical techniques, abdominal injuries caused by firearms in children are traumatic with high complication rates and mortality. In this study, factors affecting mortality and complications in penetrating abdominal firearm injuries caused by high-velocity bullets and shrapnel in children as a result of the civil war in Syria were evaluated. METHODS: This study was conducted as a case series with 53 patients admitted to Kilis State Hospital with penetrating abdominal firearm injuries between January 2016 and February 2017. Patients aged between 6 months and 17 years who suffered penetrating abdominal firearm injuries (PAFI) as a result of the civil war in Syria in the state hospital in Kilis Türkiye border province with Syria and were transferred to our hospital and operated on were included in the evaluation. Patients’ sociodemographic information, time to surgery, number of abdominal organs injured, type of firearm causing injury, presence of large vessel injury and extremity injury, presence of thoracic injury requiring thoracotomy in addition to laparotomy, colostomy, penetrating abdominal trauma index, pediatric trauma score (PTS), and shock status were evaluated. RESULTS: In our study, it was found that a high penetrating abdominal trauma index significantly increased complication rates and mortality (P<0.001 and P=0.002, respectively). In addition, it was found that lower PTSs significantly increased the development of complications and mortality (P=0.001 and P[removed]8, whereas mortality was observed in 27.3% of patients with a PTS≤8, and this result was statistically significant (P=0.003). Shock significantly increased mortality, and no patient who was not in shock died (P<0.001). In our study, it was determined that the increase in the number of injured intra-abdominal organs had a significant effect on both complications and mortality (P[removed
Gernik (Gacer, Kavılca) Buğdayı (Triticum dicoccum) ve yan ürünlerinin Ruminant Hayvanlar İçin Yem Değeri
Ancient wheat species attracts more attention recently due to their health benefits and suitability for organic farming. With this attention, the possibilities of using ancient wheat species and especially their by-products in animal nutrition are emerging. Unlike modern wheat varieties, emmer is known as one of the ancient wheat varieties, has hull covering its grains. Approximately 70% of the total plant weight consists of hulls and stalks. Looking at the literature, limited studies has been conducted regarding the evaluation of the hull and stalk parts of emmer wheat as feed. Herein, this study aims to determine the nutritional values of emmer wheat and its by-products. The feed value of the plant was analyzed in five parts (hulled grain, stalk of plant, hull, naked grain and flour). For each part, dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), ether exract (EE), crude ash (CA), starch, crude fiber (CF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent insoluble crude protein (ADICP), neutral detergent insoluble crude protein (NDICP), lignin and mineral analyzes were made. In addition, non-fiber carbohydrate (NFC), digestible dry matter (DDM), dry matter intake by animal body weight (DMIBW), total digestible nutriton (TDN1X), net energy lactation (NEL3X), metabolic energy (ME), net energy maintanence (NEM), net energy gain (NEG), energy and digestibility calculations were performed. The protein content of emmer grain was observed higher than that of modern wheat. ADF and NDF values of the emmer wheat stalks are lower than modern wheat stalks and therefore have better digestibility values. Additionally, the higher resistance to starch digestion compared to modern wheat varieties may be a reason for preference in ruminant feeding.
Effects of chrysin in cadmium-induced testicular toxicity in the rat; role of multi-pathway regulation
Cadmium (Cd) is a strong toxic agent and causes serious damage to testicular tissues. Chrysin (CHR) is a natural flavonoid with many effective properties, especially antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic properties. The current study describes new evidence for the ameliorative effects of CHR on oxidative stress, apoptosis, autophagy and inflammation pathways in Cd-induced testicular tissue toxicity. Methods: Thirty-five male Wistar rats were divided into five groups, control, Cd, CHR, Cd + CHR25, and Cd + CHR50. Cd was administered alone at a dose of 25 mg/kg body weight or in combination with CHR 25 mg/kg and CHR 50 mg/kg for 7 days. Cd and CHR were administered orally. Biochemical, molecular, and histological methods were used to investigate inflammation, apoptosis, autophagy, and oxidant pathways in testicular tissue. Results: Cd increased lipid peroxidation, JAK-2/STAT-3 levels, inflammation-related NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, COX-2, and iNOS levels, AKT-2, FOXO1, Bax, Apaf-1 and Caspase-3 levels, autophagic Beclin-1, LC3A and LC3B. The Cd also caused a decrease in the activities of antioxidant enzymes and GSH levels, antiapoptotic Bcl-2 levels. CHR, on the other hand, had the opposite effect of all these Cd-induced changes. Conclusions: Overall, the data of this study indicate that testicular damage associated with Cd toxicity could be ameliorated by CHR administration

Do Oil Prices Have an Effects on Food Prices? Fresh Evidences from Türkiye
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between oil prices and food prices for January 2003-September 2022 in Türkiye. Design/methodology/approach – Variable associations were examined using the RALS cointegration test. The RALS-ADL cointegration test uses information in non-dispersed errors. Thus, it produces more powerful predictions for non-normal distributions compared to cointegration tests. In addition, this test avoids widespread practices such as predetermining a particular functional form. Findings – The results show that the series have a cointegration connection. The DOLS, FMOLS, and Canonic cointegration approaches produced long-term coefficients in agreement with the discovery of a long-term association. Although the results of the applied tests were comparable, the results of the FMOLS and Canonik tests are substantially more comparable. Given that FMOLS technique is more effective than others and produces outcomes comparable to those of Canonik approach, its results have been interpreted in this situation. As a result, while having a positive sign, the exchange rate variable is not statistically significant. In terms of food prices, oil prices have a negative explanatory power. The CPI variable has a considerable impacts on both the present and future pricing of food. Our findings demonstrate that the price of oil does not always correlate with the price of food, and vice versa. Discussion – There are certain recommendations that can be made to researchers and policymakers based on the findings. Supporting contract farming, which has recently been mentioned, will improve food sufficiency and the balance of food stocks, particularly during times of crisis. On the demand side, the preference for locally produced foods can reduce the over-reliance on food imports, which frequently worsens the country's status with regard to food prices and may lower the dryness. From this vantage point, future research can contrast oil-exporting nations and oil-importing countries in terms of the food price-oil price connection, whereas the current study focuses on the relationships between oil prices and food prices in Türkiye
A Study on Interactions of 14.7-MeV Protons and 3.6-MeV Alphas in 93Nb Target
Niobium is an important alloying material in nuclear reactors because of its enormous strength, low density, low neutron absorption, and high melting point. This study is structured on nuclear data calculations that are based on a Monte Carlo simulation approach. The GEANT4, SRIM, and TALYS codes were used to create a comprehensive simulation of 3.6-MeV alphas and 14.7-MeV protons on a (Formula presented.) target. We present calculation results on nuclear parameters as ion energy losses, displacements, vacancies, projected ranges, and cross sections. A comparison between the GEANT4 and SRIM codes was made for the projected ranges and ion energy losses. Besides, the calculations of cross sections in the TALYS code were carried out using level densities on the Skyrme energy density functional and the Fermi gas model
