A Review on Brands Entering the Metaverse Universe
Teknoloji, dünyamızı her geçen gün hızla yenilemekte ve değiştirmektedir. Bu yeniliğe ve gelişime uyum sağlamak, çağa da uyum sağlamanın koşullarından biri haline gelmiştir. Covid-19 salgını ile birlikte giderek dijitalleşen dünyada, uzaktan eğitim, çevrimiçi ortamlar, sanal gerçeklik gibi kavramlar belli bir süreçten geçerek hayatımıza girmiştir. Fiziksel ve dijital dünyaların birleşimi olarak adlandırılan Metaverse, son zamanların en popüler konularından biridir. İnternet ötesi ile ilgili bir fikir olan Metaverse kavramı, fiziksel olarak yer ve zaman kısıtları nedeniyle insanların gerçekleştiremediği deneyimleri, sınırsız gerçeklikle sunan uçsuz bir platformdur. Metaverse, birçok kullanıcı için biraz yeni bir kavram olabilir, ancak şimdiden çok çeşitli markalar ve şirketler tarafından benimsenmeye başladığı görülmektedir. Son zamanlarda Dünyaca ünlü markalar bu sanal evrendeki yatırımlarını hızla artırarak, her geçen gün yeni Metaverse planlarını tüm dünya ile paylaşmaya başlamışlardır. Bu çalışmada, son günlerde adı daha da sık duyulmaya başlanan Metaverse kavramı ile ilgili bilgilere yer verilerek, medyada yer alan Metaverse evrenine geçiş yapan markalar literatür temelli incelenerek, dünyaca ünlü markaların bu sanal ortama giriş adımlarına ve geleceklerine ilişkin çıkarımlara odaklanılmaktadır.Technology is rapidly renewing and changing our world day by day. with the Covid-19 epidemic, expressions such as distance education, online environments, virtual reality
have entered our lives through a requirement process. Metaverse, called the fusion of the physical and
digital worlds, is one of the most popular topics of recent times. The Metaverse expression is an endless
platform that offers virtual reality experiences that people cannot physically achieve due to space and
time constraints. The world of the metaverse may be a bit of a new phrase for many users, but it's already
starting to be embraced by a wide variety of brands and companies. In this study, it is aimed to examine
the developments related to the world brands that first entered the Metaverse virtual universe in the media,
by giving information about the Metaverse expression, which has started to be heard more frequently in
recent days. For this purpose, in the study; A study was conducted in which information and examples
about the metaverse were compiled
Random start ovarian stimulation before gonadotoxic therapies in women with cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis
The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to quantify the effect of random start ovarian stimulation (RSOS) compared with conventional start ovarian stimulation (CSOS) in cancer patients before gonadotoxic treatment. The final analytical cohort encompassed 688 RSOS and 1076 CSOS cycles of cancer patients before gonadotoxic treatment. Eleven studies were identified by database searches of MEDLINE, Cochrane Library and cited references. The primary outcomes of interest were the number of oocytes and mature oocytes collected, the number of embryos cryopreserved and the metaphase II (MII)-antral follicle count (AFC) ratio. The studies were rated from medium to high quality (from 6 to 9) according to the Newcastle-Ottawa Quality Assessment Scale. The two protocols resulted in similar numbers of oocytes collected, MII oocytes, embryos available for cryopreservation and comparable MII-AFC and fertilization rates. The duration of ovarian stimulation was longer (standardized mean difference [SMD] 0.35, 95% CI 0.09 to 0.61; P = 0.009) and gonadotrophin consumption was higher (SMD 0.23, 95% CI 0.06 to 0.40; P = 0.009) in RSOS compared with CSOS. This systematic review and meta-analysis show that the duration of stimulation is longer, and the total gonadotrophin consumption is higher in cancer patients undergoing RSOS compared with those undergoing CSOS, with no significant effect on mature oocyte yield
The Relationship Between the Health Transformation Program and Health Expenditures: Evidence From an Autoregressive Distributed Lag Testing Approach
Objectives: As health expenditure increases every year, countries try to provide accessible health services to society and try to protect individuals from the expenses they cannot overcome by investigating the reason for this increase. Especially with the arrangements made in the health systems in developing countries such as Turkey, it has been tried to take the control of dramatic increases in health expenditure. Based on this issue, in this study, we aimed to evaluate the effect of income per capita, annual inflation, and health reform called as Health Transformation Program on the health expenditure per capita in Turkey.
Methods: This study reflected the effects of income, inflation, and the reform on the total health expenditure through the autoregressive distributed lag. This study covered the years between 1985 and 2016 for Turkey.
Results: As a result of this study, there was a positive relationship between health expenditure and income and a negative relationship with the reform (P < .05).
Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it is suggested that health expenditures can be kept under control with improvements such as encouraging individuals to use more primary healthcare services than curative health services and increasing the quality of service without compromising the equity in financing
The Place And Importance of The Council/Shūra In Government: The Case of Aksaray Municipality
İnsanoğlu bir arada yaşamaya başladığı zamandan itibaren güvenlik, refah ve ihtiyaç temini gibi unsurları içeren toplumsal düzeni sağlamak adına yönetim kavramını hayata geçirmiştir. Değişen ve dönüşen toplum ile yönetim kavramı da yeniden tanımlanmıştır. Yönetim kavramı, günümüzde birliktelik, ortaklık ve paydaşlık gibi öğeleri kapsayan istişare merkezli bir forma dönüşmüştür. Bu yeni yönetim formu yönetişim olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Kadim kültürlerin yönetimlerinde var olan birliktelik, karşılıklı fikir alışverişi, ortak yönetim gibi kavramlar yönetişim kavramı ile yeniden gündeme gelmiş ve ön planda tutulmaya başlanmıştır. Yönetimin güçlü yanlarını içine alan ve eleştirilen yönlerini güncelleyerek tekrar etkin hale getirdiği düşünülen yönetişim anlayışı hem uluslararası boyutta hem de ulusal ve yerel boyutta uygulanmaya çalışılmaktadır. Yerel yönetimlerin halka en yakın hizmet sunan birimler olması sebebiyle vatandaşların karar alma mekanizmalarında istişare edilen paydaş aktör olarak yer aldıkları görülmektedir. Bu makalede karar alma süreçlerinde şûranın yeri ve önemi yerel yönetimler kapsamında Aksaray Belediyesi özelinde ele alınmakta ve Aksaray Belediyesinin şûra merkezli hizmetleri ve faaliyetlerine değinilmektedir. Aksaray Belediyesi tarafından sunulması önerilen şûra merkezli hizmetlere çalışmanın sonuç kısmında yer verilmektedir.Since the time when human beings started to live together, they have implemented the
concept of government in order to ensure social order, which includes elements such as
security, welfare and provision of needs. With the changing and transforming society, the
concept of government has also been redefined. Today, the concept of government has
transformed into a consultation-centred form that encompasses elements such as
togetherness, partnership and stakeholding. This new form of government defined as
governance. Concepts such as unity, mutual exchange of ideas and joint administration,
which existed in the governance of ancient cultures, have come to the agenda again with
the concept of governance and have started to be prioritised. The concept of governance,
which is thought to incorporate the strengths of the administration and make it effective
again by updating its criticised aspects, is being tried to be implemented both at the
international, national and local level. Since local governments are the units that provide
services closest to the public, it is seen that citizens are involved as stakeholder actors
who are consulted in decision-making mechanisms. In this article, the place and
importance of the council in decision-making processes are discussed in the context of
Aksaray Municipality within the scope of local governments and the council-centred
services and activities of Aksaray Municipality are mentioned. The council-centred
services proposed to be provided by Aksaray Municipality are included in the conclusion
part of the study
Volatility Interaction Between VIX (Fear Index) and Fragile Five Countries
Bu çalışmada kırılgan beşli ülkeler ile VIX endeksi arasında asimetrik getiri ve volatilite yayılımı araştırılmıştır. Kırılgan ülkelerin kırılganlıkları makroekonomik faktörler nedeniyle oluşmaktadır ve bu örtük volatiliteye neden olmaktadır. Örtük volatilite yatırımcı duyarlılığını ve gelecekteki nakit akışlarını yansıttığı için makroekonomik şoklardan ve temettü politikalarından etkilenmektedir. BİST 100 (Türkiye), BOVESPA-BVSP (Brezilya), IDX (Endonezya), JSE(Güney Afrika), NIFTY50(Hindistan) ve VIX endekslerinin 2014 ve 2021 tarihleri arası haftalık kapanış verileri DCC GARCH yöntemi ile test edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre VIX ile IDX endeksi hariç diğer endeksler arası kısa ve uzun dönemli etkileşim mevcuttur VIX’deki değişime karşı endekslerin gösterdiği reaksiyon açısından en çok etkilenen IDX endeksidir. BİST 100 hem geçmiş volatilite hem de VIX’den gelen volatilite etkileşimi noktasından kırılgan ülkeler arasından en az etkilenendir.In this study, asymmetric return and volatility spillovers between fragile five countries and VIX index
investigate. The fragility of fragile countries is caused by macroeconomic factors and this causes implicit
volatility. Because implicit volatility reflects investor sentiment and future cash flows, it is affected by
macroeconomic shocks and dividend policies. BIST 100 (Turkey), BOVESPA-BVSP (Brazil), IDX
(Indonesia), JSE (South Africa), NIFTY50 (India) and VIX indices weekly closing return of between 2014
and 2021 test using DCC GARCH method. There is a short and long-term interaction between VIX and
other indices except the IDX index. BIST 100 is the least affected among the fragile countries from both
the historical volatility a nd the volatility interaction point from the VIX
A qualitative analysis on the experiences of mothers of children in burn ICU: "She burned on the outside, me inside..."
Mothers closely follow the complex process due to the burning of their children. Caring for and supporting the child can pose various challenges for mothers. With the phenomenological method, this study was conducted to investigate mothers' experiences staying with their children in the pediatric burn intensive care unit. Twelve mothers participated in the study. The semi-structured face-to-face interviews obtained data. After each interview, the research team transcribed the interviews verbatim. Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis was used to analyze the data. The experiences of the mothers were classified in four contexts as a result of the interpretative phenomenological analysis; "first reactions to burn trauma" related to the awareness that the child has been burned, "being a mother in the burn intensive care unit" related to caring for the child as a companion in the burn intensive care unit, "coping" related to how they cope with the problems throughout the whole process, and "requirements" regarding the subjects it needs in the process. It was determined that mothers went through a physically and emotionally challenging process from the beginning of the burn trauma and throughout the intensive care unit. During this challenging process, it was observed that mothers could not use effective coping methods and did not receive the necessary professional support. In line with these results, it is recommended that psychological support programs be applied to the mothers and that care focused on the needs of the mothers should be provided
Association between digital literacy, internet addiction, and cyberloafing among higher education students: a structural equation modeling
The current study aims to examine the association between digital literacy (DL), Internet addiction (IA) and cyberloafing (CL) levels of higher education students in Turkey. In addition, the study examined the correlation between “daily Internet use,” “initial Internet usage,” and “purpose of Internet use” with the variables of DL, IA, and CL. The study groups consisted of 1220 higher education students including all faculties and all grades of a state university. The “Digital Literacy Scale,” “Internet Addiction Scale,” and “Cyberloafing Scale” were used as data collection instruments. The study’s findings revealed initial Internet usage to be a predictor of DL, IA, and CL. Similarly, participants who spent more than 6 h using the Internet during a day have a higher level of DL, CL, and IA. Results from structural equation modeling reported a positive association between DL and IA, a negative association between DL and CL, and a positive relationship between IA and CL. Moreover, an indirect effect was revealed from DL to CL through IA. The study suggests improving students’ DL skills, as they form the basis of avoiding CL behavior, and using the Internet mostly for educational purposes
“Lab-on-pol” colormatic sensor platforms: Melamine detection with color change on melamine imprinted membranes
There is an urgent need to improve a specific, equipment-free and user friendly technique for detecting melamine in food samples. Here, melamine imprinted polymeric membranes were synthesized, and tested for selectivity in aqueous solutions against cyromazine used as competitor agent, and real milk samples spiked with melamine. Scanning electron microscope, atomic force microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray and optical profilometer devices were used for characterization. Fe+3 ions were used as marker to obtain color change based on melamine concentration. The color intensity on MIP membranes was monitored by means of a color analysis application (Image J software) via a smartphone. Some obtained results as fallows: Melamine binding to 3D cavities of membrane came true in about 20 min. The linear regression plot showed a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.995 in the range of 10 μM-50 μM according to Beer Lambert's law. A low concentration of melamine, (e.g., 10 µM) was determined in raw milk. Melamine imprinted polymeric membranes showed 7.575 times more sensitivity for melamine than cyromazine. Limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were computed as 9.9 µM and 30.2 µM, respectively. Here, a new kind of smart polymer was designed, and successfully applied for the easy, portable and on-site colorimetric analysis via imprinted polymers, and named as “lab-on-pol”system. HPLC analysis method was also used to validate this new analysis method
Design and comprehensive analyzes of a highly efficient TLA-Type synchronous reluctance machine including the effects of conductor per slot and wire size
Consuming energy sources and greenhouse gas emission are one of the most prominent problems of the latest century. Most of the energy consumed globally and carbon dioxide emissions originate from electric motors used in the industry. Therefore, researchers have recently focused on the production of highly efficient, eco-friendly, and low-priced machines: Synchronous Reluctance Machines. In this study, the design and comprehensive Finite Element Analysis of a TLA-SynRM including the effects of the number of conductors per slot and wire diameter directly affecting stator slot fill factor and crucial for obtaining more realistic results from experiments has been initially carried out. Moreover, power factor, saliency ratio, and efficiency of the novel SynRM are enhanced by utilizing a fine-tuning process based on d- and q-axes flux paths. Additionally, the layer structure of the initial design is changed to a double-layer structure to improve the performance of the machine in the fine-tuning process. In the final step of this study, the machine has been manufactured, and experiments have been accomplished. This study has concluded that the novel SynRM have low torque ripple, high power factor, saliency ratio, and efficiency, whose value is within the range of IE5 efficiency class
M1 ve M2 aydınlatma sınıfı yollar için geliştirilen bir COB LED'li yol aydınlatma armatür modelinin optik tasarımı
In this study, the optical design and analysis of a road lighting fixture model with COB LED suitable for M1 and M2 lighting class roads was carried out. In the design phase, Cree-XLamp-CXA1830 LED was preferred as the light source. The 3D solid model of the concave-convex spherical lens compatible with the selected COB LED was modeled and simulated by Zemax optical design software and created in SolidWorks 3D design software. The COB LED and lens distance are optimized in LightTools lighting design software using the Monte Carlo ray tracing method (Monte Carlo Ray-Tracing Method). Light distribution curves and photometric data files (IES, LDT) were obtained by performing simulation studies for COB LED modules and fixture models with 20-module COB LEDs through LightTools software. Using the obtained photometric data files, lighting analysis was performed for M1 and M2 class road conditions by means of DIALux lighting calculation and simulation software. The suitability of the luminaire models was evaluated by comparing the road lighting parameters obtained from the DIALux analysis with the road lighting criteria accepted by the International Lighting Organization (CIE). In this study, it has been observed that the designed COB LED luminaire model meets the M1 and M2 class road lighting criteria defined by CIE. In the study, the optical design phase of a original and highly efficient luminaire model with COB LED in accordance with M1 and M2 road lighting class criteria has been successfully completed.Bu çalışmada M1 ve M2 aydınlatma sınıfı yollar için uygun bir COB LED (Chip on Board)’li yol aydınlatma

3D katı modeli, Zemax optik tasarım yazılımı vasıtasıyla modellenerek simüle edilmiş ve SolidWorks 3D
tasarım yazılımında oluşturulmuştur. COB LED ve lens mesafesi Monte Carlo ışın izleme yöntemi (Monte
Carlo Ray-Tracing Method) ile LightTools aydınlatma tasarımı yazılımı kullanılarak optimize edilmiştir.
LightTools yazılımı vasıtasıyla, COB LED modülleri ve 20 modüllü COB LED’li armatür modelleri için
simülasyon çalışmaları gerçekleştirilerek, ışık dağılım eğrileri ve fotometrik veri dosyaları (IES, LDT) elde
edilmiştir. Elde edilen fotometrik veri dosyaları kullanılarak, DIALux aydınlatma hesap ve simülasyon
yazılımı vasıtasıyla, M1 ve M2 sınıfı yol şartları için aydınlatma analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. DIALux
analizinden elde edilen yol aydınlatma parametreleri Uluslar Arası Aydınlatma Örgütünün (CIE) kabul ettiği
yol aydınlatma kriterleri ile karşılaştırılarak armatür modellerinin uygunluğu değerlendirilmiştir. Bu
çalışmada tasarımı yapılan COB LED’li armatür modelinin CIE tarafından tanımlanan M1 ve M2 sınıfı yol
aydınlatma kriterlerini sağladığı görülmüştür. Çalışmada ayrıca, M1 ve M2 yol aydınlatma sınıfı kriterlerine
uygun COB LED’li, özgün ve yüksek verimli bir armatür modelinin optik tasarım aşaması başarıyla
tamamlanmıştır
