of some published works earlier on generalized Hardy’s type integral inequalities
An Experimental Rat Model Study: Is There Any Effect of Syringic Acid on Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Priapism?
Purpose The purpose of this research is to examine the impact of syringic acid on ischemia-reperfusion injury in cavernosal tissue, utilizing a rat model of induced priapism. Materials and methods A total of 24 rats were allocated into three groups. Group 1 was designated as the control group, while Group 2 underwent ischemia-reperfusion injury assessment using the priapism model. Group 3 underwent the same procedures as Group 2, with the addition of intraperitoneal administration of syringic acid (100 mg/kg) 60 min after priapism initiation. All rats underwent penectomy, and sufficient blood samples were collected. Histopathological assessment of penile cavernosal tissue involved grading tissue damage, inflammation, vasocongestion, desquamation, and edema on a scale of 0-3 (0: normal, 1: mild, 2: moderate, 3: severe). Result Significant differences were observed among the three groups in terms of IL-1 beta and TNF-alpha levels (p=0.001 and p<0.001, respectively). IL-1 beta and TNF-alpha levels in Group 2 were found to be significantly higher than Group 3 (p=0.003 and p=0.004). There was also a significant difference among the three groups in terms of median MDA levels (p<0.001). Furthermore, the median MDA level in Group 2 was found to be significantly higher than that in Group 3 (p<0.001). While significant differences were observed among the three groups in terms of median SOD and GSH-px levels, no significant difference was found among the groups in terms of median PC levels (p=0.004, p= 0.048, and p=0.159, respectively). In direct microscopic examination, a significant improvement in pathological scores was noted in Group 3 compared to Group 2 (p<0.001). Conclusion Syringic acid demonstrated protective properties against ischemia-reperfusion injury caused by priapism in cavernosal tissue
Determination of suitable varieties for second product peanut growing in Mardin province
Due to different reasons, only corn plant is preferred for second crop planting in Mardin province. However, there are some researches on low-cost plant cultivation, which can be an alternative to the second crop after the main crop, because the corn plant both exploits the soil and needs a high amount of water and increases the cost of electricity due to the irrigation done with pressurized systems. The peanut plant is one of them. Since good results were obtained in the second crop peanut cultivation carried out under farmer conditions in Mardin in 2020, it has been the subject of this research. In this sense, the adaptation of 10 peanut varieties as the second product after wheat under pandemic conditions in 2021 in Mardin province was investigated. Trials were carried out in Random Blocks Trial Design with three replications. In the study, characteristics such as plant height, number of main branches and fruit per plant, internal ratio, fruit yield per plant, seed yield per plant, 100 seed weight, fruit yield and grain yield were investigated. According to the results of analysis of variance, significant differences were determined between cultivars in terms of plant height and number of main branches by 0.5%, and between cultivars by 0.1% in terms of other characteristics. According to the results of variance analysis; plant height; 62.1-53.1 cm, number of main branches; 4.53-5.20 units/plant, pods per plant; 27.3-42.5, grain rate 37.0-47.1%, grain yield per plant (bean); 71.7-120 g, yield per plant (seeds); 25.1-51.3 g, weight of 100 seeds; 68.1-103.4 g, grain yield (pods); 2143-5079 kg/ha, grain yield (seed); 937-2207 kg/ha. According to these results; in terms of grain yield, fruit yield, fruit yield per plant and 100 grain weight; NC-7 and Masal cultivars had high values for Gazipaşa cultivar in terms of seed ratio. As a result, NC-7 and Masal varieties are recommended for second crop cultivation in Mardin conditions

Editorial: Biological/chemical-based metallic nanoparticles synthesis, characterization, and environmental applications
Parts of plants are used to carry out the reduction reactions. Although there are different
methods for the synthesis of nanomaterials, biological synthesis is relatively cheap,
environmentally friendly, and safe compared to other methods (Ahmadov and
Ramazanli, 2019; Ramazanli and Ahmadov, 2022). The aim of the Research Topic on
“Biological/Chemical-Based Metallic Nanoparticles Synthesis, Characterization, and
Environmental Applications” was to provide an integrated view of the state-of-theartresearch on recent advances in biosynthesis, characterization of biological/chemicalbased nanomaterials, and their application by providing a comprehensive understanding of
the topic through original research and review articles focusing on the biological synthesis
method, in which bacteria, fungi, algae, and various
Lasiodiplodia theobromae and Neoscytalidium dimidiatum associated with grafted walnut (Juglans regia L.) decline in Turkey
Surveys of canker diseases in 26 walnut orchards were conducted in the southeastern Turkish provinces of Batman, Diyarbakır,
and Şanlıurfa in 2020. Decline symptoms on trees were most severe in the trunks of grafted trees grown on unproductive
local rootstocks with Chandler and Franquette scions throughout the surveyed areas, and samples were taken from those
trees. Lasiodiplodia theobromae was identifed from the cankers on the trees of the seven orchards, while Neoscytalidium
dimidiatum was identifed from the other 19 orchards based on morphological characteristics. DNA sequencing analysis of
10 representative isolates using the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 (ITS), the large subunit (LSU), and the translation elongation factor
1-alpha (EF-1α) genes confrmed the identifcation of the causal fungi. Pathogenicity tests on 2 year-old Chandler seedlings
revealed that L. theobromae and N. dimidiatum produced lesion length averages of 7–8 cm and 15–25 cm after 3 weeks
of stem-inoculation, respectively. Koch’s postulates were confrmed by successfully reisolating the fungi only from plants
inoculated. This is the frst study to document L. theobromae as the causal agent of walnut tree decline and cankers in Turkey
King Oyster Mushroom, Pleurotus eryngii (Agaricomycetes), Extract Can Attenuate Doxorubicin-Induced Lung Damage by Inhibiting Oxidative Stress in Rats
Doxorubicin (DOX), a broad spectrum chemotherapeutic, has toxic effects on healthy tissues. Mitochondrial processes and oxidative stress act in the DOX-induced toxicity, therefore antioxidant therapies are widely used. The study was aimed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of Pleurotus eryngii extract (PEE), an extract of a fungus with antioxidant properties, against DOX-induced lung damage. Rats were divided into Control, DOX, DOX + PEE, and PEE groups (n = 6). DOX was administered intraperitoneally in a single dose (10 mg/kg BW) and PE (200 mg/kg BW) was administered by oral gavage every other day for 21 days. Histopathological evaluations, immunohistochemical analyses, total oxidant status (TOS)/total antioxidant status (TAS) method, and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis were performed. DOX led to severe histopathological disruptions in rat lungs. Also, DOX remarkably increased the expression of dynamin 1 like (DRP1) and decreased the expression of mitofusin 1 (MFN1) and mitofusin 2 (MFN2) genes, which are related to mitochondrial dynamics. Moreover, DOX caused an increase in TOS/ TAS and 8-hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) levels. On the other hand, PEE treatment remarkably normalized the histopathological findings, mitochondrial dynamics-related gene expressions, markers of oxidative stress, and DNA damage. The present study signs out that PEE can ameliorate the DOX-mediated lung toxicity and the antioxidant mechanism associated with mitochondrial dynamics can have a role in this potent therapeutic effect
Service robots and perceived discrimination in tourism and hospitality
This study explores the influences of the incorporation of service robots in the service delivery systems of tourism and hospitality companies on the perceived discrimination of tourists and tourism employees. In doing so, a conceptual framework is proposed to explain the relationships between robots-based service delivery systems in tourism and hospitality (e.g., fully robotised and mixed service delivery systems) and discrimination. This paper demonstrates that although service robots may be advantageous in eliminating/mitigating perceived discrimination (from employees to tourists, tourists to tourists, tourists to employees, employer/employee to employee), using robots can also create or aggravate perceived discrimination. Though this study is the first attempt on the subject and presents beneficial knowledge for tourism and hospitality service providers and service robot designers, future empirical studies could shed more light on the relationship between robots-based service delivery systems and discrimination in the tourism and hospitality context
Preconcentrations of Pb(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) by solid phase bio-extractor using thermophilic Bacillus subtilis loaded multiwalled carbon nanotube biosorbent
An alternative biotechnological solid phase bio-extraction (SPE) method was developed. Bacillus subtilis loaded multiwalled carbon nanotube was designed and used as biosorbent for the preconcentrations of Pb(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II). The experimental parameters such as sample flow rate, pH of sample solution, amounts of Bacillus subtilis and multiwalled carbon nanotube, volume of sample solution and reusability of column which affects the analytical characteristics of the SPE method were investigated in details. Surface structures were investigated by using FTIR, SEM. The best pH was determined as 5.0 and the percentages recoveries of Zn(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) were determined as 99.1%, 98.7%, and 96.2%, respectively, at a flow rate of 3 mL/min. In this study, in which the profitable sample volume was determined as 400 mL and the amount of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) as 50 mg. It was also observed that the column had a significant potential to preconcentrate Zn(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) even after 25 reuses. The biosorption capacities for Pb(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) were calculated as 34.2 mg/g, 36.8 mg/g and 45.5 mg/g respectively. The LOD values were calculated as 0.024 ng/mL for Pb(II), 0.029 ng/mL for Ni(II), and 0.019 ng/mL for Zn(II). The linear range was detected as 0.25–25 ng/mL. The concentrations of Pb(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) in a variety of real food samples were determined by using developed method after application of certified reference sample
Evaluation of the organizational innovation and self-efficiency levels of health workers
The aim of this study was determine whether the personal features of the participants create
a difference in terms of organizational innovation. This study was conducted with 1234 nurses and
midwives. A multiple regression model was created to see and predict the effect on individuals' total
innovative scores and self-efficacy scores. The total innovative and the self-efficacy score are predicted
with multiple regression analyses. It was observed that the variable that most affected both the total
innovative score and the self-efficacy score of the individuals was the education level of the individuals.
The fact that midwives and nurses have a certain level of innovative and self-confidence is important for
the society to receive better and faster health services. In this study, it was observed that the education
level was important for the development of innovative and self-confidence in both groups
