Institutions and Investment as Growth Drivers
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is a key feature of globalization, whose notable rise is paralleled by advancements of technological innovations and the liberalization of global capital flows. FDI is commonly viewed as a prevalent mode of international capital movement that contributes to higher levels of economic growth and enables access to local and regional markets, while also enhancing competitive advantages of the recipient country. Considering the plentiful possible economic and social advantages of FDI inflows (job creation, increase in productivity, growth of export potential, rise in economic competitiveness, technology transfer, diversification of economy structure, infrastructure development, etc.), countries are engaged in intense competition on the global capital market to attract foreign investors, with the aim of promoting their economic and social welfare
Exploring the Nexus of Perceived Organizational CSR Engagement, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Pride, and Involvement in CSR Activities: Evidence from an Emerging Economy
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is becoming omnipresent in contemporary business
environments given the growing awareness of the social role of business entities and their contribution
to sustainable development. The research was conducted in order to explore the relationships
between the perceived organizational engagement in CSR, job satisfaction due to CSR, organizational
pride, and employees’ involvement in the company’s CSR activities. The research was conducted on
a sample of employees in the life insurance department of a leading insurance company in Serbia,
using a structured web questionnaire. Data analysis was performed on a sample of 138 respondents.
Data were processed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), given
the relatively small size of the sample, asymmetric data distribution, and the complexity of the
relations. The study results point to a more influential role of CSR engagement in fostering organizational
pride, compared to job satisfaction, with the latter as the most influential determinant of
organizational involvement
Social Protection of Migrant Workers and Their Families in Migration Regimes between the Former Yugoslav Countries
Continuing economic disparities, the collapse of key industries,
skills and demand mismatches on the labour market
and political instability have been among the key drivers
of emigration from the former Yugoslav countries in the
last decades. Within these flows, Slovenia represents an
important country of immigration due to existing historical,
cultural and linguistic ties, geographical proximity and
existing migrant social networks

Depresivnost je merena ĆESD-8 skalom, a generalizovano poverenje pomoću The Social Trust Scale of the ESS.
Locus Standi Before Administrative Courts in Environmental Matters – A European Perspective
The main goal of this article is to examine to what extent citizens
and their associations as a party in court proceedings can protect the
environment in EU countries and Serbia, and also to identify main
trends and limitations for access to justice in European legal systems.
After analysing the three prevailing approaches to the regulation of
locus standi in European countries, the aim of this article is also to
determine the extent to which Serbian legislation fits into European
legal systems. A normative-dogmatic method and a comparative
legal method have been used in this article in order to analyse the legislation and practise in European countries in relation to the right of
the public to protect the environment in administrative judicial proceedings. The article focuses on analysing the relevant international
and national legislations and their implementation. The way in which
locus standi is formulated is the key issue in exercising the right of the
(concerned) public to initiate an administrative dispute for the protection of the environment and the protection of participation rights
in environmental decision-making. Access to administrative courts
in environmental matters usually implies that legal standing to initiate administrative disputes is granted to environmental civil society
organisations (the public concerned), although citizens (the public)
may also have standing in some case
The Language of War and Destruction: Analyzing Serbian Media Coverage of Israeli Aggression on Palestine
Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories has been a major point of di- vision in the
international community since 1948. The latest phase of bomb- ings in the Gaza Strip has led to
unprecedented destruction and casualties. According to UNRWA, between October 2023 and September
2024, more than 41,000 people were killed, including over 16,000 children, and more than 96,000
were wounded in attacks on shelters, hospitals, and schools. The humanitarian crisis has
been exacerbated by systematic obstructions to aid deliveries, with only 8% of the required shelter
supplies reaching Gaza (UNRWA, 2024). Media coverage plays a crucial role in documenting this
destruction and alleged war crimes, emphasizing the importance of reliable information to
understand the far-reaching consequences of these events be- yond Gaza and the West Bank. This
paper aims to analyze the media rep- resentation of Israeli aggression against Palestine across
four domestic media outlets: N1, Nova.rs, RTS, and Kurir. The analysis covers key events since
Hamas’ initial attack on October 7, including the Gaza Strip invasion, the first ceasefire,
Israel’s attacks on Yemen and the Iranian consulate in Syria, Iran’s response, the Israeli
offensive on Rafah, the termination of US funding for UNRWA, South Africa’s genocide lawsuit
against Israel at the Interna- tional Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court’s arrest
warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and Chief of the
General Staff Herzi Halevi, as well as the ICJ’s Advisory Opinion on the legal consequences of
Israel’s actions in occupied Palestinian territories. Using content analysis, the study examines
how these media outlets report on the conflict, revealing differences in their portrayal of
events and the extent to which they align with international perspectives. The theoretical
framework is based on framing theory (Entman, 1993) and settler coloni- alism theory (Wolfe, 2006).
This research aims to highlight potential biases, hidden narratives, and interpretations that
shape public understanding of this complex geopolitical situation and humanitarian disaster
The Role of the Transportation Sector in Serbia’s Macroeconomic Performances
The transportation sector plays a significant role in the functioning of the entire economy. In the literature, the channels of the influence of transport on various economic variables are theoretically explained, and there are also many empirical verifications of the positive impact on economic growth, productivity and employment above all. The aim of this paper is to analyze the importance and role of the transportation sector in the macroeconomic framework of Serbia. The contributions of the transportation sector to the gross value added and its real growth, the structure of gross value added, investments in fixed assets, employment, average net earnings and real growth of net earnings, inflation, as well as the business results of transport companies in terms of the value of total assets, operating income and net results are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the entire transportation sector, as well as to special divisions of this sector such as land transport and transport via pipelines, water transport, air transport, warehousing and support activities for transportation and postal and courier activities. The analysis covers a five-year period from 2019 to 2023
