    Anemoia

    No full text
As we accumulate memories, experiences, and years, we naturally view our lives as a linear journey—one event happens, fades away, and a new one occurs. It\u27s difficult to grasp the reality of past events if they exist only in our memories. What if something that defines your truth is something you never actually get to experience? Can we try to live it through someone else or some other medium? Despite this perception, we are not linear beings. Who we are today is shaped by every moment and experience we\u27ve collected over our lifetimes. Film’s desire to blend experiences and identities from various stages of her life led to the creation of “Anemoia,” a project aimed at translating the human experience—both personal and collective—into a cohesive body of work.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-cmat/1075/thumbnail.jp

    Make It Make Sense

    No full text
“Make It Make Sense” is the Culminating Experience turned EP that is created off of the concept to make sense of the experiences and emotions Marina encountered throughout her time at BerkleeNYC. A indie-country endeavor, Marina produced every song and wrote/co-wrote the EP composed of Nothing Makes Sense In Nashville, Now I Can, The Joke’s On Me, Do It Again, and Aspartame. The purpose of Make It Make Sense is to set the stage for Marina’s career goals: Convey her lyrical ability to create songs that are both complex and digestible for a listener while showcasing her newfound production skills and the other skills she has developed from her specialization in “Songwriting and Production”. In addition, Marina wants to create a sense of belonging for people who have experienced feelings of shame, regret, and longing for concepts, such as a city or a person, that didn’t want them back.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-cmat/1098/thumbnail.jp

    Fuzz Media Entertainment Business Plan

    No full text
The motivation behind this project is my passion for music and my goal to create a sustainable business model for Fuzz Entertainment, integrating Fuzz Media and Fuzz Studiozz. This project is crucial as it leverages media and music production to support artists and engage a wider audience. By addressing the challenges artists face in professional music production and promotion, we aim to seamlessly integrate media and studio services. The methodology involved market research, industry interviews, and the development of financial projections and business strategies. Key steps included defining our target market, creating a pricing strategy, and outlining our service offerings. Deliverables include a detailed business plan, marketing strategies, financial projections, and operational workflows. From this project, I gained insights into the business side of the music industry and the importance of media and production service integration. Expected challenges involved competition and investment, while unexpected ones required strategy adjustments based on market feedback. This project helped me develop skills in business planning, financial analysis, and strategic marketing. The project\u27s contribution lies in its innovative business model that supports artists and engages music enthusiasts. Future prospects include expanding services to new markets and exploring international opportunities, providing a framework that can be generalized to other regions and industries.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-entertainment-business/1366/thumbnail.jp

Production Manager / Concert Producer - INOCON 2024

    No full text
As Concert Producer for INOCON, my primary tasks were to build and manage artists relations, oversee production and technical requirements of the performances (with the Berklee Production Team) and to organise deadlines and schedules. Being experienced in the field of performance and event production, this seemed like a good opportunity for me to build on these pre-existing skills and leverage them in a very unique atmosphere. This project has instilled amazing skills in me - patience and quick thinking - to name a few. It was also a good opportunity for me to understand the power of teamwork and work with people from very different backgrounds. The diversity of our executive team, supervisors and every participant significantly added to my experience working on this project and at Berklee.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-entertainment-business/1357/thumbnail.jp

The Missed Potential of Neighbouring Rights Collection in Luxembourg: A Comprehensive Study of Perspectives

    No full text
Luxembourg, the host of the ECJ, violates the statutory rights of performers and record producers by failing to enforce domestic collective management of neighbouring rights. Consequently, Luxembourg misses a major opportunity to create a level playing field and sustainable income for its music industry. This research aims to guide the implementation of neighbouring rights collection using a mixed-method approach. Quantitatively, it estimates the potential collection by comparing neighbouring and author right collections across European territories and applying their average ratios to the author right collections of SACEM Luxembourg. Qualitatively, it explores stakeholders\u27 perspectives on challenges and best practices linked to collective management of neighbouring rights in Luxembourg through interviews with 17 stakeholders, including a Grammy-winning performer and CMO executives. The study estimates a potential annual collection between €1.2 and €1.9 million, while these results are highly dependent on tariff negotiations. Recommendations include forming a union, collaborating with international organizations, and leveraging technology. Further research is necessary to determine the optimal structure for a CMO, but this study suggests that a small local representation could effectively operate by outsourcing most services to existing CMOs or private IT companies. This research underscores the urgency for policymakers to implement a robust collection system and provides a foundation for future initiatives in Luxembourg\u27s music industry.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-entertainment-business/1358/thumbnail.jp

Head of Sync and Neighboring Rights: Disrupción Records

    No full text
This project aims to ensure the practical execution of Sync and Neighboring Rights for Disrupción Records. Additionally, this paper is designed for students working at a university record label. The project ensures the development of both a system for Neighboring Rights and the proper collection of these rights. It describes the differences, contrasts, and suggestions for the collection of monies. The Sync branch of this project was developed with a clear structure, collection of music, and development of client relationships. It is designed to assist in creating a comprehensive sync branch for the label and details the processes required to achieve this. Furthermore, this paper describes CRIA (Collegiate Recording Independent Association), where I helped develop a new association to aid the further development of university-level record labels. I hope to inspire future students in this position to think critically. This project includes many resources that they will be able to use in the coming years.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-entertainment-business/1390/thumbnail.jp

The Culminating Experience is based on my past internship and college background, I discover how artists would like to develop in different countries. \u27WE\u27 will focus on bringing Asian Artists to the North America Market, to help them on their social media management or any touring needs. During the finalization of the business plan, I interviewed with different people, such as agents, Touring managers, Journalists etc ... This project did meet my expectations, it let me have a deep understanding about the US market. The next step I would like to really go to the US to help Asian artists have their concert.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-entertainment-business/1394/thumbnail.jp
