This paper will be conducted in a somewhat chronological order covering a multitude of topics on the journey to the completion of HOLE. Scott and Lamb\u27s relationship history, history of collaboration and relationship as creators will be touched upon followed by the first steps in creating the framework for HOLE. The writing process, from first note to instrument choices, will be examined with cross references to the various inspirations used ie. The scores for ALIEN and ALIENS. Mixing Mastery - A Journey in Search of The Truth
No full textIn the rapidly changing music industry, the importance of the mixing engineer is significant, mixing is known to be a crucial part in the stage of music production. As such, the basic concept of this project is to focus on the author’s mixing portfolio as a medium that explores the special role of the profession and how the different skills are important in building a unique sound as a mixer. The portfolio includes 12 songs in different genres including, Hip Hop/ Indie Soul, Funk/Fusion, Live Piano, Jazz and Experimental Jazz, highlighting the consistency of the work quality while showcasing the author’s unique mixing style. By the process of making the author’s mixing portfolio, this project reveals the change in the authors endeavor and focuses on the importance not only the technical aspects but also personal growth. Taste and See: Expanding the Musical Palette Within Christian Genres
No full textGospel music doesn’t only have to resemble Hillsong praise and worship or Aretha Franklin at a Baptist church. In fact, the diversity of genres in Gospel music has steadily expanded into Hip Hop, Afrobeats, Urban Gospel and other areas in recent years. The author draws inspiration from these genres and a myriad of others namely: Classical, Electronic, Rock, Jazz, Funk and Alternative. This project presents an LP titled, Taste and See, that comprises seven songs written, produced, recorded, and mixed by the author. Taste and See showcases the above mentioned genres with a Gospel lens by using specific lyrical content and harmonic progressions. The primary objectives of this project were twofold: firstly, to engage new and young Christian audiences with Gospel music that allows them to stay pure and focused on God while enjoying a diverse range of music, and secondly, to broaden the musical palette of the targeted audience by presenting multiple genres within a single project where all songs transition seamlessly from start to finish.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-production-technology/1364/thumbnail.jp

Exploring the impact of music award shows on digital cultural goods like streams and social media engagement lacks systematic and data-driven research. Bridging this gap involves comprehensive studies on music shows across countries with varying levels of industry development, promoting comparison and knowledge-sharing beyond geographical boundaries. This research evaluates the influence of major music award shows on artists\u27 streaming performance and social media presence, using statistical data from 2022 to 2024. It focuses on three geographic regions: the U.S. (The Grammy Awards), Taiwan (The Golden Melody Awards), and Hong Kong (The Ultimate Song Chart Awards Presentation), each with unique music dynamics. The study includes survey results to understand awareness and post-award show streaming behavior. The findings aim to provide insights into fostering sustainable relationships among award show academies, artists, labels, commercial partners, recording companies, and other stakeholders. The research concludes that music award shows continue to hold substantial influence over streaming and social media, albeit with varying degrees of impact depending on the region, category of award, and the artist\u27s prior standing. Drawing from my experience with successful campaigns for prominent artists, I aim to offer personalized social media management services that drive growth and engagement.
The Planner package includes monthly strategy calls and weekly emails with insights, while The Social Manager package provides intensive services such as curated content lists, dynamic video content creation, and detailed content calendars. Additional services like filming and live event coverage further enhance these offerings.
The project underscored the importance of adaptability and creativity in content creation, presenting challenges in managing diverse client needs. Youth Jazz & Rock Festival Meets Global Jazz
No full textFor my Culminating Experience project, I delved into various methods of infusing educational elements into a music festival. Taking cues from the Panama Jazz Festival, I incorporated five educational components into the programming of my own Youth Jazz & Rock Festival in Subotica, Serbia. The five components that I explored are:

- Music Pedagogy Masterclass
- Open Discussion Panel on the Potential and Danger of Artificial Intelligence in Art
- Masterclass on Berklee Global Jazz Institute musical and philosophical concepts.
I have created each piece of my Culminating Experience based on the final educational element I plan to incorporate into my festival: a masterclass on Berklee Global Jazz Institute musical and philosophical concepts. The paper delves into the modernization of the traditional Bağlama, an Anatolian long-necked lute that is integral to Turkish folk music and Alevi culture. It details the passion for the Instrument and modernization for it of Baris Kadem, inspired by a musician father and mentor Kemal Dinç, who introduced classical guitar techniques to Bağlama playing. By exploring contemporary improvisational approaches and personal experiences, the project aims to inspire the Bağlama community to embrace new perspectives, showcasing the instrument\u27s versatility while honoring its cultural heritage. Ignite the Fire Within
No full textThe music for my CE thesis draws inspiration from the protests and vigils that took place around the world during the pandemic in 2020 following George Floyd’s death at the hands of the police. They showcased a global-scale level of solidarity that I didn’t dare even hope could be possible to achieve or to witness for years to come; let alone in my lifetime. It was a monumental moment in the history of our present time to see the world coming together to make a definitive stance against the horrors of the police brutality, racism, prejudice and injustice that the Black community have been facing for years. The universal acknowledgement of the racism faced by Black Americans inspired further protests that not only demonstrated solidarity; but also gave the people of many different countries and notably of the wider African Diaspora the courage to call out racism and similar deaths of black and brown people in police custody taking place in their own countries. Through the music of my CE, I set out to encourage listeners to realise the global level of empathy and compassion that we are capable of and uphold this same energy of solidarity experienced during the 2020 pandemic as we move forward into post-pandemic society.https://remix.berklee.edu/graduate-studies-global-jazz/1169/thumbnail.jp
