Clustering Analysis of Life Expectancy at Birth in Central Sulawesi Province: Trends and Patterns 2022-2024
Life Expectancy at Birth (LEB) is a critical indicator of health and well-being, and understanding its variations across regions is essential for effective health policy development. In Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, LEB has shown improvements over recent years. This study aims to explore life expectancy trends in Central Sulawesi from 2022 to 2024 using K-means clustering analysis. The study uses secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), focusing on health indicators, education levels, healthcare access, and socio-economic conditions. The results revealed that most districts in Central Sulawesi fall into the high life expectancy category (C3), including urban areas like Palu and Morowali, reflecting better healthcare infrastructure and socio-economic conditions. However, districts such as Parigi Moutong, Tojo Una-Una, and Banggai Kepulauan remain in the lower life expectancy categories (C1 and C2), highlighting significant disparities. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions to address the healthcare and socio-economic challenges in lower-performing areas. The study concludes that while Central Sulawesi has made progress in improving life expectancy, regional disparities remain. Policymakers should focus on enhancing healthcare access, infrastructure, and education in underdeveloped areas to reduce these gaps on addressing the challenges faced by districts in the C1 and C2 categories
The risk and obstetric outcomes of preeclampsia in pregnancies with non-ideal maternal age: a systematic review
Preeclampsia remains a leading cause of maternal and neonatal morbidity, with increased risk observed at both extremes of maternal age adolescents (<20 years) and women of advanced maternal age (>35 years). However, the comparative obstetric impacts of preeclampsia across these age groups remain underexplored in a structured synthesis. This study aims to provide an up-to-date, evidence-based understanding to support maternal health policy planning, clinical obstetrics, and reproductive education tailored to high-risk populations. This systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines. Electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar were searched for peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2025. Studies were eligible if they reported preeclampsia prevalence and obstetric outcomes among pregnant individuals aged <20 or >35 years. Seven observational and cohort studies met the inclusion criteria. Adolescent pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia showed high cesarean section rates (82.9% in those aged ?16 and 89.3% in ages 17–19), and increased risk of anemia and pregnancy complications despite comparable neonatal outcomes across age subgroups. In contrast, advanced maternal age was associated with a higher prevalence of severe preeclampsia (68.9%), eclampsia (12.3%), HELLP syndrome (8.7%), and emergency cesarean delivery (71.3%). Neonatal complications included low birth weight (34.4%) and lower five-minute Apgar scores. Use of assisted reproductive technologies in women ?40 further amplified the risk of early-onset preeclampsia and prematurity. Pregnancies at non-ideal maternal ages carry distinct pathophysiological risks and result in increased obstetric complexity and need for medical intervention. Age-specific clinical approaches such as early screening, targeted antenatal education, and enhanced maternal-fetal surveillance are essential. These findings support maternal health policies that incorporate maternal age as a key determinant for individualized risk assessment and care planning
Preventing Stunting from the Source: A Study of Premarital Couples on Participation in Preconception Care
Indonesia ranks among the highest globally for childhood stunting, largely due to chronic nutritional deficiencies beginning during the first 8000 days of life—starting even before conception. Poor health and nutritional status among women of reproductive age prior to marriage significantly increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes and childhood stunting. This study aimed to identify the determinants of premarital couples’ participation in preconception care as a strategy to reduce stunting. This cross-sectional analytical study involved 61 premarital couples recruited through total sampling at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in Kapanewon Sewon, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Inclusion criteria included couples aged 20–35 years who met the study requirements. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (Chi-square), and multivariate logistic regression tests. Knowledge (p = 0.001), attitude (p = 0.007), and social support (p = 0.015) were significantly associated with participation in preconception care. Multivariate analysis showed that couples with good knowledge were 4.3 times more likely (AOR = 4.30; 95% CI: 1.65–11.22) to participate in preconception care. Improved knowledge, positive attitudes, and strong social support significantly increase premarital couples’ participation in preconception care. Strengthening early health promotion and community-based interventions is essential to optimize reproductive health preparation and prevent stunting from its earliest source

Pengaruh Isometric Handgrip Exercise terhadap Tekanan Darah pada Penderita Hipertensi di Padukuhan Papringan Catur Tunggal Depok Sleman Yogyakarta
Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death due to non-communicable diseases. Uncontrolled hypertension can lead to various complications, making effective management essential. One effective non-pharmacological intervention is the isometric handgrip exercise, which involves sustained muscle contractions without changing muscle length and has been shown to reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of isometric handgrip exercise on blood pressure in individuals with hypertension. The study was conducted over five consecutive days from December 27 to 31 in Padukuhan Papringan, Caturtunggal, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest method was used. A purposive sampling technique was employed, involving 33 hypertensive individuals aged 44–64 years. Data were collected using observation sheets and a standard operating procedure (SOP) guide for the isometric handgrip exercise, which participants followed independently at home. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant difference in systolic blood pressure before and after the intervention (p = 0.000), but no significant difference in diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.580). These findings suggest that isometric handgrip exercise can be an effective method for reducing systolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Future research is recommended to ensure consistency in exercise using tools like the Muscle Strength Testing (MMST) and to implement controlled supervision during the intervention for optimal exercise accuracy

This review adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) approach to examine scientific studies from the last 10 years, highlighting the anti-cancer potential of these ingredients. A total of 20 articles were selected following a rigorous screening process using relevant keywords in reputable databases. The findings indicate significant antioxidant properties in both red rice flour and cinnamon, supporting the hypothesis that Cookies Camerunis may serve as a functional food for cancer prevention. Further studies, especially clinical trials, are needed to substantiate these findings.

Gambaran Ketepatan Penentuan Penyebab Dasar Kematian Pada Formulir Keterangan Penyebab Kematian di RSPAU dr. Suhardi Hardjolukito
