Diseases that are the Main Cause of Death During the Covid-19 Pandemic at RSAL Dr. Soedibjo Sardadi, Jayapura City
Background: The spread of COVID-19 in Jayapura City, Papua Province, is getting out of control. The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Jayapura City until September 2021 was 12813 people and 271 people died. In addition to deaths that occur due to exposure to Covid-19, other causes of death are caused by various other diseases. Objectives: The overall goal of this research is to describe the main cause of death during Covid-19 at RSAL dr. Soedibjo Sardadi, Jayapura City. Methods: This is quantitative research augmented with qualitative research. On April 2021, data was collected in Jayapura City, specifically at RSAL dr. Soedibjo Sardadi. The quantitative sample in this study was all deaths at RSAL dr. Soedibjo Sarda during the COVID 19 pandemic from March 17, 2020 to March 17, 2021, or saturated sampling. While the informants in this study were chosen using a purposive sampling technique, they included the Head of the RSAL, Dr. Soedibjo Sardadi, the doctor in charge of the ER, and the doctor in charge of COVID 19. The proportions are seen in quantitative data analysis. Result: The deaths that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic at RSAL dr. Soedibjo Sardadi, Jayapura City, 44 men (61.1%), and 28 women (38.9%). The most deaths were at the age of > 45 years, as many as 34 people (47.2%). The trend of deaths over time looks fluctuating, but it was found that in October 2020 the highest number of deaths was 15.28% and the least in December 2020 and March 2021 at 2.78%. The deaths caused by Covid-19 as many as 8 people (87.5%) and one (12.5%) suffered from Covid-19 with type 2 DM concomitant disease
Ethnomathematics: Exploration of Geometric Concepts in Traditional Paintings and Carvings of Teluk Ampimoi Kepulauan Yapen, Papua, Indonesia, as a Source of School Mathematics Learning
This research explored the mathematical concepts contained in the traditional paintings and carvings of Teluk Ampimoi Kepulauan Yapen, an indigenous district in the Kepulauan Yapen Regency, Papua, Indonesia, that can be used in school mathematics instruction and learning. Ethnographic research with an ethnomathematical research model was used. Data was collected using participant observation and in-depth interview techniques and was analysed using taxonomic, domain, and ethnographic methods. The results showed that the various forms of traditional paintings and carvings of Teluk Ampimoi, Kepulauan Yapen exhibit mathematical concepts in the form of geometry, namely plane geometry and transformation geometry and approximation, namely, measurement. Based on the taxonomic analysis, it was found that the geometric concepts can be integrated with mathematics learning in schools in the field of geometry concerned with the properties, perimeter, and area of rectangles, parallelograms, and triangles. Role of Evolutionary Algorithms in Construction Projects Scheduling
Due to the increase in the stakeholders and their objectives the construction projects have significantly been affected by the ongoing demands leading to increase in complexity of scheduling problems, research in the field of Multi-Objective Optimization (MOO) have increased significantly. Through their population-based search methodologies, Evolutionary Algorithms drove attention to their efficiency in addressing scheduling problems involving two or three objectives. Genetic Algorithms (GA) particularly have been used in most of the construction optimization problems due to their ability to provide near-optimal Pareto solutions in a reasonable amount of time for almost all objectives. However, when optimizing more than three objectives, the efficiency of such algorithms degrades and trade-offs among conflicting objectives must be made to obtain an optimal Pareto Frontier. To address that, this paper aims to provide a comparative analysis on four evolutionary algorithms (Genetic algorithms – Memetic algorithms – Particle Swarm – Ant colony) in the field of construction scheduling optimization, gaps are addressed, and recommendations are proposed for future research development
Small Scale Irrigation and its Effect on Poverty Reduction: the Case of Shabelle River Basin Gode Woreda, Somali Region, Ethiopia
This study was conducted at Gode district of Somali Region, Ethiopia. The objective of this study was to identify Small-scale irrigation use and its effect on poverty reduction. The data was collected from a total of 180 farmers by using semi-structured questionnaire. To collect the required data several methods like interview schedule, focus group discussions and key informant interviews were used. Various documents were reviewed to collect the secondary data. Descriptive statistics, inferential statistics (chi-square and t-test), frequency, percentage and econometric model analysis were used to analyze quantitative data. As the binary logistic regression model result indicates, eight variables were found to be significant namely Farming experience and membership to cooperative had significant effect on the use of irrigation water use at less than 1% probability level. Age, family size, water availability, and off-farm income had significant effect on the use of irrigation water at 5% significant level. Livestock holding size and access to credit had significant effect on the use of irrigation water use at less than 10% probability level. Water availability from rivers had a significant effect on the use of irrigation water and the main sources of irrigation water in the study area are rivers. Small scale irrigation reduces poverty by enhancing production, household consumption, annual expenditure, and by increasing employment. It is recommended that the concerned bodies such as government, NGO and other stakeholders should emphasis on construction of new canals and maintenance of existing canals so as to improve the performance of small scale irrigation
Age and Sex Difference Between Low-grade and High-grade Colorectal Adenocarcinoma
Colorectal cancer is currently the second leading cause of death in the world. Sex, age, and histological grading have interesting prognostic values for colorectal cancer to be studied further. The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in age and sex to the histological grading of low-grade and high-grade colorectal adenocarcinoma. This analytical descriptive study used 65 samples of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) from patients diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma based on histopathological examination with Hematoxylin-Eosin staining, period 2014 to 2016. Data obtained for age, age group < 45 years 12 samples (18.5%), 36 samples in the 45-65 age group (55.4%), and 17 samples in the 65-year age group (26.2%). For sex, 36 samples (55.4%) and 29 samples (44.6%) were female. For the histological grade of low-grade colorectal adenocarcinoma, 43 samples (66.2%) and high-grade 22 samples (33.8%). The data were then analyzed using the Chi-square test, age against the degree of histology obtained p-value of 0.383 (p>0.05), for sex to the degree of histology obtained p-value of 0.338 (p>0.05). The conclusion there are no statistically significant differences between age and sex to histological grades of low-grade and high-grade colorectal adenocarcinoma
Factors Related to the Utilization of Health Services at the Manggelum Public Health Center, Boven Digoel Regency
Background: Bayanggop Village, with a population of 265 people, is one of the communities in the Manggelum Health Center\u27s (Puskesmas) operational area, with the highest number of cases being ISPA. The results of the initial survey with people living in 1 of 3 people stated that the services provided by the Manggelum Health Center, Boven Digoel Regency, were not optimal in terms of providing health services in terms of time or hours of service, and complaints from several mothers who have toddlers about the implementation of the integrated service post (Posyandu) that is not properly scheduled. Objectives: The goal of this study is to determine the factors that related to the utilization of health services at the Manggelum Health Center, Boven Digoel Regency. Methods: This study is a type of quantitative analytic research with a cross-sectional study approach, which means that the data is measured or observed all at once. In February and March 2021, this research was carried out at the Manggelum Health Center, Manggatiga Kolopkam Village, and Bayanggop Village in the Boven Digoel Regency. This study\u27s population is from the working areas of Puskesmas Manggelum, Kampung Mnggatiga, Kolopkam, and Kampung Bayanggop in the Boven Digoel Regency.
The researcher used a purposive sampling technique to determine sample size; the sample represented the population in the working area of the Manggelum Health Center; the total population in this study was 90 people. Result: It was found that variables affordability, family support, and perceived condition have a significant relationship with the utilization of health services at the Manggelum Health Center, Boven Digoel Regency. Meanwhile, education and knowledge have no significant relationship with the utilization of health services at the Manggelum Health Center, Boven Digoel Regency
AR-Phototainment: An Augmented Reality Catch Game and Self-Service Photo Booth for Entertainment
In this study, we developed a product that can combine object capture games and photo booths that implement Augmented Reality. This application is operated only using the user\u27s body movements detected by the motion sensor used, namely Microsoft Kinect V2. This application was built as an entertainment facility that can be placed in the lobby of a building. With this goal in mind, this application is called AR-Phototainment (Augmented Reality Photo Booth and Entertainment)
Factors Affecting the Sleep Quality of the Elderly in Thailand
One of challenging global phenomena is the growth of elderly population which underlines human longevity across the globe. Thailand has emerged and become a society of older persons. Sleep problems are neither uncommon nor inherent of physiological change of ageing process. The elderly health vulnerability and complex evidently derive from one of sleep problems. This research explored and presented sleep problems of the elderly at the national perspective scales. Research objectives were established to examine sleep quality throughout the country and explore correlation between individual factors and sleep quality in the elderly. The established research question asks “How do individual factors affect sleep quality in the elderly in Thailand?” This correlative study was purposely designed to explore the relationship of essential elements of individual factors and sleep quality of the elderly population in Thailand. The stratified sampling method [1]was employed in identifying 400 samplings in 15 provinces of 4 regions across Thailand. The field survey approach engaged the in-depth interview by using a modified PSQI questionnaire [2] whose content validity and reliability was approved by the established Expert Committee.
The study results succinctly identified three core elements. The first one is related to individual and personal factors. The majority of samplings occupied age ranges of 65-70 years who are mostly male and married and have adequate income and their own lodgings.Though having some personal medical conditions, the majority of them drink neither alcohols nor caffeine and do not smoke and do not practice physical exercise either. The most disturbing environment factors affecting sleep is noise. The majority of samplings experienced depression and did not perform prayers or meditation before sleep. The second element is related to sleep quality under the PSQI guidelines. It was found that the majority of 315 persons (78.8%) did not have a good sleep quality with the total PSQI scores of greater than 5 points. The minority of them or 85 persons (21.2 %) has a good sleep quality with the total PSQI scores of less than 5 points. The third element captures and present the result of hypothesis testing which found that age, marital status, medical conditions, consumption of alcohol and caffeine, physical exercise, disturbing environment, depression with known and unknown causes and practice of prayers and meditation before sleep are correlated with sleep quality of the elderly. Gender has no correlation with sleep quality of the elderly as the good and bad sleep quality of either gender is of proportional results.
Factors Associated with the Completeness of Complete Basic Immunization for two-Year-Old Infants at Tiom Public Health Center, Lanny Jaya Regency
Background: Immunization is a form of health intervention that is very effective in reducing infant and under-five mortality. The working area of ??the Tiom Health Center in Lanny Jaya Regency has the lowest basic immunization coverage of the 10 Public Health Center in the Lanny Jaya Regency area. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between mother\u27s education level, mother\u27s occupation, affordability to immunization services, activeness of officers in immunization services, mother\u27s knowledge, and family support with basic immunization completeness for children under two years old. Methods: This research is quantitative with a cross-sectional study approach. The population in this study were mothers who have children who have reached the age of 2 years in the working area of ??the Tiom Health Center, with a large research sample of 72 respondents by purposive sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire. Results: From the results of the study, it was found that the variables that were not related to the completeness of basic immunization were the mother\u27s level of education (p-value = 0.420), mother\u27s occupation (p-value = 0.713), affordability of access to immunization services (p-value 0.494), activeness of officers immunization (p-value = 0.357), and support for family members (p-value = 0.110) with the completeness of basic immunization.Meanwhile, the variable related to the completeness of immunization for children under two years old is the mother\u27s level of knowledge with a value (p-value = 0.007).Suggestion: Based on the results of the study, the researcher proposes to the head of the Public Health Center that every time they provide services inside the building and outside the building to always provide counseling to the general public and more specifically mothers who have infants under five about the importance of health services in this case basic immunization services and carry out basic immunization services, monitoring of the completeness of immunization, while for mothers who have babies should take the time to immunize their children
Utilising the Total or Cultivation (TFC) and Multiple Regression (MR) Models to Examine the Factors Influencing Rice Cultivation Farms in the Bombali District, Sierra Leone
Many obstacles to attaining rice self-sufficiency in Sierra Leone, is the stumpy cultivation of this staple food crop which transformed to inadequate rice availability for the entire sierra Leonean population. Several determinations have been made by the successive Sierra Leone governments towards rice self-sufficiency. Much attention is constantly given to improving the inputs utilised by the rice cultivators, and improvement of better-quality rice seed varieties whereas the main reasons of the low rice cultivation are left unaddressed. Consequently, this study focussed on the examination of the main factors that influence rice cultivation farms in Bombali district, North-Eastern of Sierra Leone. Through a multi-stage sampling technique, approximately 600 rice farms were selected.
This study used primary source with structured questionnaire for the collection of data. The data were analysed by using mean, percentage, standard deviation, Total Factor Cultivation (TFC) and Multiple Regression (MR) techniques. The result from data analyses confirms that the size of rice farm, household size, and extension visitation positively and significantly influenced cultivation of Bombali district rice farms, whereas the herbicide practise and age of the farmer negatively influenced cultivation of Bombali district rice farms. Additionally, the result disclosed that a 1% surge in herbicide amount significantly reduced the cultivation of rice farms by 3.84 %. Consequently, Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI), and other agricultural agencies that are responsible for the training of farmers should strengthen effort in the herbicides
practise. Systematic and thorough soil analysis ought to be conducted in Bombali district rice farms to establish the compatibility of soil and herbicide practice
