    Analyzing the Scenario of Warehousing Cost Reduction in a Textile Factory after Implementation of Effective Supply Chain Management (SCM) Department: A Case Study of "Asrotex Group"

    Implementation of the supply chain management (SCM) department has a significant assertive impact on the planning sector of an organization. Sourcing and purchasing an adequate amount of raw material for processing is an essential and considerable factor in the manufacturing industry. Effective demand forecasting can reduce the excess purchase of raw materials. Sourced raw materials are required to stock in inventory for further processing. An excess inventory needs additional space for warehousing, which expends additional costs. A bulk amount of sourcing without proper forecasting can lead the materials towards long-time ageing. Excessive ageing can decrease the quality of the raw material and directly impact production performance. Unorganized sourcing can result in a higher amount of raw material waste due to the amount of small unused lots. In this assessment, the data of "Asrotex Group" will be evaluated after the implementation of the SCM department. A comparison of the previous records will be done with the company\u27s current scenario and assess how the scenario changed after the supply chain management (SCM) department\u27s installation

    Oxalate Free Averrhoa Carambola Fruit Juice and Wine Produced by a Modified Oxalate Route (Synthesis of Zinc Oxalate)

    Carambola is highly valued for its fruits, especially the pulp which is used for a wide variety of domestic and industrial purposes. The Carambola fruit is a nutritious food containing acids, vitamins, phytosterols and other phytochemicals. The drinks (Fruit juice and fruit wine) from Averrhoa Carambola L. are specific due to their taste and flavor. However, they contain oxalate at concentrations which are not health promoting when consumed. We are taking this advantage to explore wine fermentation from Carambola fruit pulp by focusing on the effect of different parameters such as time of treatment for juice extraction, yeast inoculate for wine fermentation and secondary fermentation to wine quality, and to  precipitated the oxalate ions from the juice and wine using metal zinc ions as a fruit metal.  The main fermentation was done at 25o C in 13 days, and 1 week of secondary fermentation in dark bottle at 25o C. The wine produced was characterized for alcoholic content, pH, titratable acidity, Brix, and consumer acceptability while the precipitate (Zinc Oxalate) was characterized by FTIR and PXRD. The carambola fruit pulp juice and wine produced were of acceptable quality (clear, sweet, sparkling, smooth and flavoured) following the olfactory test. The drink had a pH of 4.02 and 11.2 %, alcohol content while the FTIR and PXRD results revealed that oxalate ions were precipitated from the juice and wine by zinc ions, and   after precipitation of the juice and wine, the oxalate concentration in the drinks were reduced to health promoting levels. Furthermore, the precipitation process did not affect the acceptability of the wine as the olfactory parameter were not actually affected

    Teacher’s Readiness towards Online Distance Learning in Science Teaching in the New Normal

    This study aims to assess teacher’s readiness towards online distance learning in science teaching in the new normal in terms of technical skills, communication skills, attitudes towards online learning, and time management. Specifically, it determines the profile of the respondents, the significant difference between teachers’ readiness and their profile, and estimates teachers’ readiness based on the profile using a predictive model. Using a researcher-made questionnaire, this analytical research design gathered data from 39 science teachers through purposive sampling from the secondary schools. Gathered data were systematically treated and analyzed utilizing descriptive and inferential statistics such as frequency, percentage count, mean, standard deviation, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and regression analysis. Results revealed that teachers’ readiness in terms of technical skills, communication skills, attitude towards online distance learning, and time management was high. There was a significant difference in time management according to age and technical skills when grouped according to the number of relevant trainings attended. Based on the identified predictors, the predictive model for teachers’ readiness is Mean score (Teachers’ Readiness) = 3.002 - (0.149*Age) + (0.201*Training), which implies that teachers are ready towards online distance learning in science teaching in the new normal. In conclusion, teacher’s readiness towards online distance learning was high in all indicators. Science teachers face challenges and struggles but still acquire competencies needed in the online teaching and learning environment

    Clinicopathological Profile of Colorectal Cancer Patients in Anatomical Pathology Department of Hasanuddin University Makassar

    Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in men, the second in women, and it’s the second for leading cause of cancer death worldwide, with more than 1.2 million new cancer cases and 608,700 deaths. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2018, explained that globally there were 1.80 million new cases of colorectal cancer diagnosed and 862,000 patients died of colorectal cancer. This study aims to define the epidemiological and clinicopathological characteristics of CRC with metastasize in Makassar. Retrospective study was performed used cross-sectional design included all patients diagnosed with colorectal adenocarcinoma with metastasize at Anatomical Pathology Laboratory Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo, Faculty of Medicine Hasanuddin University and Makassar Pathology Diagnostic Center, from January 2016 to December 2021. A total of 60 patients were included in this study, 45% were females and 55% were males. Samples with the age category <50 years were 13 samples (21.7%) and the age category > 50 years were 47 samples (78.3%). Based on the location of the tumor, the location of tumor in the right colon were 24 samples (40.0%), in the left colon were 14 samples (23.3%), and in the rectum were 22 (36.7%) samples. The low-grade colorectal adenocarcinoma group were consisted of 31 samples (51.7%) and 29 samples (48.3%) of the high-grade. Samples with positive lymphovascular invasion were 17 samples (51.7%) and 43 samples (71.7%) were negative.The depth of invasion were 28 samples (46.7%) at muscularis externa and 32 samples (53.3%) at serosa.   Colorectal adenocarcinoma is more frequent at the age more than 50 years old and right colon is the most affected sub site. The mean age at diagnosis was 57.2 years with male predominance. Most patients had low grade tumor, no lymphovascular invasion findings at microscopic and the depth of invasion reach the serosa. Lymph nodes is the most common metastatic site

    Impact of Technology Facility, System Quality and Information Quality on Student Learning Satisfaction

    The emergence and spread of COVID-19 pandemic have impacted on the learning of students by applying e-learning through the usage of information technology. The aim of this research is to partially and simultaneously analyze the impact of technology facility, system quality and information quality on student learning satisfaction. Method of this research correlationally and statistically analizes data to test hypothesis. Results of this research conclude three findings. Firstly, in partial test, technology facility and information quality positively and significantly impact on student learning satisfaction, whereas system quality does not positively and significantly impact on student learning satisfaction. Secondly, in simultaneous test, technology facility, system quality and information quality positively and significantly impact on student learning satisfaction. Thirdly, the contribution of technology facility, system quality and information quality to determine student learning satisfaction is 44.5% categorized as moderate determination coefficient, whereas 55.5% of student learning satisfaction is impacted by other variables

    Design and Implementation of a Distance Training Device of Physical and Sports Education’s Future Teachers : Application of ADDIE Model

    Distance learning has largely infiltrated several higher education institutions in Morocco driven by the expansion of opportunities offered by information and communication technologies such as ODL, MOOC, SPOC. However, countless challenges continue to hamper the design, implementation and evaluation of these devices in education and vocational training for desired effectiveness.                                                                                        The aim of this study is to design an ODL system based on the SPOCs model which aims to develop professional skills for 70 future teachers of Physical and Sports Education.We have used ADDIE model as a methodological tool for our technopedagogical design with its Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation phases.Using Chi-square test, we examined the effect of the following independent variables: form of content, on trained type groups : hybrid and distanced at the threshold of p <.05. The results obtained show that trainee teachers have an increased need for their professional skills development through our FP@STAPS device using various digital resources. Thus, the evaluation of this device has shown its usefulness and effectiveness.The study therefore recommends the integration of this type of training into vocational training centers in Morocco. In addition, the study recommends that its technopedagogical design be based on referenced models such as ADDIE

Weighting aspect and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) based on the Guidelines of Green Industry Reward from the Ministry of Republic of Indonesia. The results of the analysis of 3 aspects, namely the production process, performance of waste/emissions management, and company management, that based on the strategic objectives of each aspect, the number of KPIs is obtained in a row, namely the production process of 26 KPIs, the performance of waste/emissions management of 5 KPIs, and company management 8 KPI, so that from all aspects obtained 39 KPIs. Furthermore, each aspect and KPI is weighted as a basis for measuring and evaluating its performance

    Generalized Dynamic Inversion Based Aircraft LateraL Control

    This paper illustrates how the Generalized Dynamic inversion (GDI) is used to control aircraft lateral motion. To implement the GDI control law, the yaw channel constraint dynamics are first constructed and then inverted using Moore-Penrose Generalized Inverse (MPGI). Consequently, the auxiliary component of this control law is affine in a null control vector, which is designed to guarantee asymptotic aircraft stability. Asignificant benefit of GDI  control law is the additional design flexibility afforded by its two independent control actions. Extensive simulations have been conducted to prove the efficacy of the proposed method

    The Primordial Radionuclides Activity Concentrations and Associated Minerals in Rocks from Selected Quarries in Northern Uganda

    The primordial radionuclides (PR) activity concentrations and associated minerals in 20 rock samples from Gulu and Amuru district quarries were determined using Na (Tl) gamma ray spectrometer and Transmitted Light Microscope (TLM). These were carried out at Physics and Geology Departments of Makerere University, Kampala in Uganda. The PR activity concentrations, the gamma dose rates, and the radiological hazard indices were all determined to assess the radiological hazards and risks of the exposure on the quarry workers and on the inhabitants. The minerals were obtained to determine whether minerals containing PR were highly radioactive. The computed PR activity concentrations from the five quarries ranged from 4.1 ± 1.7 to 207.6 ± 6.5 for 238U, 7.0 ± 2.0 to 452.0 ± 2.3 for 232Th, and 8.6 ± 2.0 to 2055.4 ± 73.1 Bq kg-1 for 40K, respectively with averages of 57.1 ± 4.7, 122.3 ± 11.1, and 914.2 ± 30.3 Bq kg-1. These values were found to be above the world limit of 33.0, 45.0 and 420.0 Bq kg-1 by 1.7, 2.7, and 2.2 factors. The computed average values of absorbed gamma dose rates (D), annual effective dose equivalent outdoor (Eo), excess lifetime cancer risk (ELCR), radium equivalent activity (Raeq), external hazard index (Hex), internal hazard index (Hin) and gamma index (I) for the five quarries were 134.58 ± 10.13 nGy h-1, 0.34 ± 0.03 mSv yr-1, 1.07 ± 0.09 x 10-3, 294.08 ± 17.88 Bq kg-1, 0.80 ± 0.06, 0.93 ± 0.05 and 1.35 ± 0.09, respectively. The computed average values of D, Eo and ELCR for the five quarries were above the world limit by factors of 2.2, 4.9, and 3.7, respectively. Therefore, quarry workers and the inhabitants were exposed to PR hence significant health risks associated with induced cancer and gene mutation. However, average values of Raeq, Hex, and Hin were found to be below the world limit except for one of the quarry sites. Although the studied rocks could be used as building materials without causing external diseases and respiratory infections, the average value of, I, showed that studied rocks should be used in moderation to limit the radiological hazards except for Palukere rocks. Mineralogical analyses has also shown the presence of quartz, potassium feldspar, plagioclase, biotite, muscovite, and opaque minerals. Quartz was the major mineral while the rest were accessories. The results of this study could be used by different institutions such as Uganda Atomic Energy Council (AEC) that protects the environment from dangers resulting from ionizing radiation. This body could assist to advise quarry workers on good practices. The National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) that controls environmental systems should ensure that Gulu and Amuru districts work in line with set principles on environment, and where necessary to enforce the quarry by-laws and ordinances. To urge the Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines (DGSM) to also conduct geological studies for valuable radioactive minerals in the study areas of Gulu and Amuru districts. The Uganda Ministry of Health (MoH) experts could also carry out additional studies to establish the correlation of cancer infections and quarry works. This would inform the government on corrective measures that protects the population of the region.

    An Assessment of Causes of Incidents of Thyroid Diseases in Thyroid Patients at the Central Regional Referral Hospital in Cape Coast, Ghana

    Since 1996 the Government of Ghana has been improving the quality and quantity of iodised salt, consumption of which eliminates iodine deficiency disorders. That notwithstanding, there are reports of increasing thyroid cases in hospitals. The study was to assess the causes of the thyroid diseases presented with at the Referral Hospital in Cape Coast, Ghana. Seventy (70) patients were interviewed to solicit information about iodine deficiency disorders. SPSS 21 statistical tool was used to analyze the responses. Majority of the respondents, 54, used iodised salt, whilst 21 of the cases were in the age bracket of 40-49 years. Superstition was cited as one of the causes of IDDs. The study revealed that all the respondents consumed goitrogens, and were also ignorant about Ghana’s mandatory salt iodisation law and iodine status test. State agencies must create awareness at the community level to address ignorance about iodine status test, the legislation and the scientific causes of iodine deficiency disorders
