Optimizing Energy Prediction in Smart Home Area Networks and Buildings Using Artificial Neural Networks and Machine Learning Techniques

    Get PDF
Smart home area networks (HANs) and buildings have become increasingly popular in recent years, with the integration of various smart devices into these networks. However, managing energy consumption in these networks is a major challenge. In this paper, we propose a hybrid artificial neural network-based energy prediction model to predict energy consumption of smart devices in HANs and smart buildings. Our proposed model utilizes a combination of artificial neural networks (ANNs) and machine learning (ML) techniques to predict energy consumption in smart HANs and buildings. The ANN component of the model is used to model the complex relationships between different variables, while the ML component is used to improve the accuracy of the predictions. To evaluate the performance of our proposed model, we collected data from a smart building and a smart HAN. Our results show that the proposed model outperforms traditional prediction methods, with an average prediction error of less than 3%. The proposed model can be used to optimize energy consumption in smart HANs and buildings, by providing accurate predictions of energy consumption. This can help to reduce energy costs and improve the overall energy efficiency of these networks. Additionally, the proposed model can be easily adapted to other types of smart networks, such as smart cities and industrial networks

Tribalism hinders justice which is bedrock to peace. This phenomenon has made peace to elude us as a continent in Africa, and as a nation Nigeria, it has to do with the way we relate with others which is based on how we see them, by who we think they are, and who we think we are. Ethnic diversity is a central part of our world and is accompanied by racial and ethnic ideologies, prejudices, hatreds, boundaries, violence, suffering, and hierarchies of wealth and power. This paper is on the contribution of Emmanuel Katongole to the issue of tribalism which has bedeviled Rwanda. Katongole identified the origin of tribalism in Rwanda which he posits is based on the stories the people were told, Hutu and Tutsi. He also advocated a solution to the problem. The methodology used for this research is the historical method of inquiry, the works of Katongole were examined and conclusions drawn

An Optimum Electrons Number Generated in Microwaves Plasma Gas Discharge

    Get PDF
The objective of this study is the estimation of plasma density and the parameters that control this density in a metallic circular geometric waveguide by using microwave plasma gas discharge for plasma generation. Propagation in unlimited plasma with and without collision has been shortly treated to uncover the collision effect and the cutoff frequency. In limited plasma, in a circular waveguide, we show some waves modes that can propagate in this geometric structure.  Electrons number is the main objective as it constitutes the rate of reactive species for any material treatment.  Its variation with wave sources and with the dielectric constant of the tube medium has been treated. In conclusion the design of any microwave plasma gas discharge, will be based on these parameters that are essential for guiding electromagnetic waves in a circular geometric structure for an optimum electromagnetic energy transport and as a result for an optimum reactive species rate for use in our daily life need.

    Get PDF
Since the emergence of major economic crises in the world, funding has become one of the most current research topics. In developed and underdeveloped economies, SMEs play an important role for the whole economy. The biggest problem facing SMEs is the lack of cheap alternative funding sources. The paper will analyze group or crowdfunding financing as a new potential for alternative SME financing in the Republic of North Macedonia. Crowdfunding means finding finance through social platforms from the public or a group of people who want to fund a particular project or innovation. This type of funding means a modern source that has emerged as a result of the development of technology and result of the increase in the use of the Internet and social platforms. In the Republic of North Macedonia, especially SMEs, except for traditional sources of financing, haven\u27t alternatives for financing business activities. SMEs in our country in most cases finance their activities through their own savings, loans from their families and friends and from banks. The underdevelopment of the financial sector and the lack of sufficient collateral by SMEs are forcing managers to use these traditional sources of funding. Especially in developed countries, one of the alternative sources of funding especially for start-ups is crowdfunding. During 2019, the Macedonian Stock Exchange of the Republic of North Macedonia took a step to offer a new alternative source of funding through the FOUNDERBEAM crowdfunding platform. The research paper examines the theoretical framework and the way group funding works, will analyze the operation of several social platforms around the world and will ultimately provide a case study of Founderbeam platform that is offered by North Macedonian Stock market as an alternative source of financing for small and medium enterprises in the Republic of North Macedonia
