Awareness, Knowledge and Use of Online Survey Tools amongst Researchers in Nigerian Higher Institutions
There is a growing prevalence of online survey for academic research. This can be attributed to the great impact of online survey tools on the researchers’ ability to easily develop, disseminate instruments, assemble and analyze data. Though many researchers in the advanced world have become very prone to the use of online survey, their counterparts in the developing economy are still struggling in the adoption of this invaluable tool. This study examines the level of awareness, knowledge and use of online survey tools amongst academic researchers in Nigeria. Questionnaire instrument was used for data collection. The population used for the study consists of eighty academic researchers in higher institutions spread across various parts of Nigeria. The study found that although there is a high level of awareness and preference to online survey tools by Nigerian researchers, yet there is a very low level of knowledge and usage of online survey tools by Nigerian researchers. The reason being that the researchers lack the basic prerequisite skills needed for the processing and development of online survey, amongst other challenges. The study ascertained that Survey Monkey was the most popular and predominantly used survey tool by Nigerian researchers, followed by Survey PRO and Zoomrang.
The study advocated for trainings and workshops on the use of the survey tools in higher institutions in Nigeria, which could be facilitated by the survey tools’ designers in collaboration with higher institutions in Nigeria
Evaluation of Biological E?ciency of Neem Oil Extract(Azadirachta Indica JUSS) as Alternative to Enthomopathogenes in the Population Dynamics of Hypothenemus Hampei, Cherry Berry Beetle of Co?ea SPP in Cameroon
A study to ?nd out natural enemies of the co?ee cherry borer beetle Co?ea spp. hypothenemus hampei (H. hampei) (Ferrari) (Coleoptera, Scolytidae) was carried out in two ecologically di?erent sites of Cameroon: Moungo in the Littoral region of the country and Nkolbisson around Yaounde in central region. For six months, 600 berries were randomly collected monthly at each site. The presence of neem oil extract (Azadirachta indica Juss.) fungus was observed on berries infested by the borer beetle. Rates of borer insect induced mortality to neem oil extract (Azadirachta indica Juss.) at Melong are: 78.6% in August, 67.6% in September, 42% in October, 63.2% in November, 39.7% in December. On the other hand, these rates at Nkolbisson are: 52.6% in October, 20% in November, 17.4% in December, 11.6% in January, 8.4% in February and 1,4% in March. From these observations, it was possible to carry out a research on the pathogenicity tests through its natural presence and arti?cial-infection trials of the borer beetle with this fungus in order to protect better the co?ee grains with a biological product

This study focuses on the status quo of internationalization of higher education in China, and explores the current situation and development of higher education internationalization in Shaanxi Province. As one of the important cradles of Chinese civilization, Shaanxi, as the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, has embraced a new opportunity for international exchanges and cooperation in the field of education. The level of internationalization is increasing, universities in Shaanxi actively build platforms for international exchanges and cooperation, open various communication channels, and create opportunities for cooperation. However, the platform and system for communication, as well as ideas, policies and measures, need to be further improved. Based on the research content of higher education internationalization, this essay clarifies the specific forms, summarizes the development trends, and puts forward targeted countermeasures according to the actual situation
French Language and the Teaching of Cameroonian National Languages in Secondary Schools of the West Region: Asset or Obstacle?
The syllabus of Cameroonian national languages in secondary education provides for the teaching of basic notions in linguistic and the General Alphabet of Cameroonian Languages at the observation sub-cycle and the teaching of a specific language, that of the locality where the school is found, from the orientation sub-cycle, i.e. from the 4e. This paper tries to answer the following question: What is the role of the French language in the teaching of Cameroonian national languages? The main objective of the study is to examine the role of the official language, more specifically French, and its impact on the acquisition of communicative skills in the national language. Based on Hymes\u27 (1984) theory of Communicative Approach, we analysed data obtained from questionnaires administered to 42 teachers and 320 students, and from semi-structured interviews with Regional Pedagogic Inspectors. Conducted in 23 public secondary schools in the West Region that have teachers trained in National Languages and Cultures, the study found that the French language is very prominent in national language classes. This is due to the multilingual context of the classrooms, the sometimes approximate mastery of the national language by teachers, the inability of national languages to express all realities, among others. This strong presence of French does not favour communication in the national language.
The reduction or even cancellation of French from national language classes would make it possible to stop teaching about national languages in order to truly develop the language skills of young Cameroonians in their mother tongues; this requires a certain number of measures on the part of all members of the education community
Is It Really Distance Learning? Reassessing the Interchangeable Use of Terms in Higher Education Institutions Amid Covid -19. Ibn Toufail University AS a Case Study
Covid-19 has unveiled the fragile foundations on which education stands, especially in developing countries like Morocco. This crisis has led Morocco to switch to another approach in teaching and learning, labeling it as “distance learning” or “online learning”. The present study attempts to explore the interchangeable use of terms used to describe the new approach, such as “distance learning”, “online learning” or “e-learning” that the Moroccan higher institutions use .It also tries to shed light on what is referred as “Digital literacy Training” of both students and professors given that such a training is often taken for granted instead of being taken as a need to boost the quality of education. Thus, a quantitative approach is adopted to examine this aspect through administering questionnaires both teaching staff members and students at Ibnou Toufail University. The study has revealed that what is called “distance learning” is just a crisis management technique to minimize the repercussions of the pandemic on the educational sphere, and that it is high time to redefine it as ‘Emergency Remote Teaching’ ERT in a bid to upgrade it to be an online teaching/learning. ‘Digital literacy Training’ has proved to be a key factor to guarantee a suitable digital transformation in Moroccan universities
Effects of Assisted Autogenic Drainage and Chest Physical Therapy in Children Suffering from Pneumonia
The study started after RIRS\u27s approval and Helsinki\u27s declaration. The current study is based on the fact that newer techniques like Assisted Autogenic Drainage must be introduced as chest physical therapy is one of the oldest ways of clearing the chest. The objective is to determine the effectiveness of Assisted Autogenic Drainage in children with Pneumonia. A Quasi-experimental study, with a sample of n=60, was selected through Epi and calculated as Out of 70 approached patients, 56 met inclusion criteria. The patients were divided based on convenience into Group A. Group B. Group A patients were given standard medical and nursing care and chest physical therapy. Group B patients were given an additional treatment of AAD with a predetermined frequency, intensity, and duration. The data was collected after informed and signed. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 23. The study showed significant results while within group comparison for only one variable with p=-1.515. However, in between-group comparisons, some variables showed significant results with p>0.05, and others showed Non-significant results with p<0.05. Chest physical therapy is more effective than Assisted Autogenic Drainage in treating children with Pneumonia.
A Study of the Secure Decision Method for Obstacle Avoidance
This paper proposes a secure decision making method for obstacle avoidance for bicycle robots using camera, lidar and GPS. Using a camera, a waypoint is generated on a path with a lookahead distance and steering angle can be calculated for path planning. At the intersection, the GPS signal can determine whether to turn or not. For obstacle avoidance, lidar detects the obstacle and calculates the repulsive potential, which is used to calculate the steering angle and speed. Integrating these information from sensors, this paper show the result of simulation that control bicycle robot
Phenotypic Evaluation of Mother Trees and their Effects on Seed Emergence and Growth Dynamics of African Locust Bean Seedlings in Nursery
This study was carried out in order to identify the most productive in term of seeds between African locust bean trees aged 10-29 years, 30-50 years and 51 years and older. It aims also to identify which one can guarantee better emergence and growth of young P.B seedlings in the nursery. These plants were chosen according to the availability of fruit and their accessibility. For the emergence and growth tests, a complete randomized block design with three replicates, each with three treatments was installed. The SPSS v21 software was used for statistical analysis, with a significance level of 5%.The results show that the dendrometry and productivity parameters are better when the plants are at least 30 years old (DBH > 44 cm). Indeed, seeds from trees aged 30 - 50 years significantly improved seed emergence by giving a rate of 70.33%±7.23. Plants growth was not significantly affected by trees age
