Religious Minorities in Post-Revolutionary Iran: A Statistical Analysis with Key Examples Focusing on the Yarsani Minority

    Get PDF
This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the status and experiences of religious minorities in Iran following the 1979 Islamic Revolution, with a particular focus on the Yarsan community. It examines the socio-political dynamics that have influenced the lives of these minorities, who, despite their official recognition in the Iranian constitution, face severe restrictions on their rights and freedoms. Using a mixed-method approach, including interviews with migrants, consultations with experts, literature review, and statistical analysis, the study highlights the systemic challenges these communities endure. It explores the impact of government policies, societal attitudes, and legal frameworks on their integration within Iran and in the diaspora. The research reveals a significant gap between the constitutional recognition of minority rights and their actual implementation, leading to widespread discrimination and social exclusion, driving many to emigrate for greater freedom. The case of the Yarsan underscores the profound difficulties faced by religious minorities in preserving their cultural identity and practicing their faith. The paper calls for policy reforms and international advocacy to address these issues, contributing to the broader discourse on religious freedom and human rights in the Middle East

This paper undertakes an examination of the driving forces behind the determination of student motivation both in the classroom setting and in other external circumstances. We initiate the analytical assessment with a brief introduction of the concept of motivation which reflects the central functional mechanism for the offering of motivational stimuli. The introduction encompasses the discussion of the primary major aspects affecting the understanding of what the motivation science says about its subject matter, presenting an overview of various research efforts which describe motivation as the driving force behind students\u27 success in their academic pursuits. The following portions of the presentation propose a detailed illustration of other findings maintaining that success satisfaction is a key component of motivational human disposition. As we extend our investigation into the analytical framework of the area of motivational research, the factors that shape motivation are presented as well as the conditions that provide verification and support for student success. The paper extends its focus to the scrutiny of the overview of the trends in the major motivational theories showcasing a detailed report on the findings of various studies. The leading theoretical concepts and approaches within the discipline are outlined which cover the studies of motivation theories such as the self-worth theory of achievement motivation, the expectancy-value theory, the social cognitive theory, self-determination theory (SDT). Recommendations are likewise introduced for consideration regarding encouraging students to develop resilience in the course of study in order to solve challenges and stay motivated

Examining Risk in the Russian Economy through an Extreme Value Analysis of the Moscow Exchange (MOEX)

    Get PDF
The Russian Federation has long had a reputation for being a volatile country due to its geopolitical actions. Many investors are hesitant to invest in Russia as they question the practicality of it. This research seeks to answer their concerns using the statistical concept of extreme value theory (EVT), which existing literature has failed to apply to Russia in recent years. EVT is a branch of statistics that models values away from the center of the distribution, known as “extreme values.” In the context of this paper, this is an instances of heavy intraday stock loss. Essentially, EVT models can help answer the likelihood of losses and how much loss can happen. This research seeks to answer these concerns with an ex-post facto design in which data from Russia’s main stock index, the Moscow Exchange, is downloaded and analyzed using the Massachusetts Institute of Technology licensed Python package Pyextremes. After comparison to the main stock indices of India, France, and the USA, it was revealed that there is a likely greater risk associated with Russia in comparison to the other countries. Recommendations are made for those associated with Russia and its stock markets to manage investments, diversify portfolios, and seek resistance to mitigate the potential risks more carefully. Future research is suggested to use EVT in a more long-term analysis and to address the limitations of this study

Literature Review: Role of Fibrinogen in Operations

    Get PDF
Fibrinogen, a plasma glycoprotein synthesized in the liver, plays a central role in hemostasis, primarily as a precursor to fibrin, a key structural protein in clot formation. Its importance is particularly highlighted in surgical settings where bleeding risks are elevated. Hypofibrinogenemia is a situation where the total fibrinogen level is very low, and its effects include an increased risk of hemorrhagic events, long surgical operations, and an increase in the frequency of blood product transfusions. Literature review will focus on the function of fibrinogen, its importance during surgery, and its treatment through the administration of fibrinogen derivatives. The findings of the study also support previous insights into the functionality of fibrinogen in coagulation and suggest the importance of early action when fibrinogen levels have been depleted during a major hemorrhage. Fibrinogen concentrate and cryoprecipitate are common supplementation strategies, but barriers such as cost, availability, and lack of standardized thresholds limit their widespread application

Modelling the Antecedents and the Consequences of the Emotional Labor: Evidence from Health Sector

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the connections between the factors that influence the strategies used to demonstrate emotional labor, such as deep, surface and genuine actings. Plus, some main antecedents for instance religiosity, organizational support and the resulting outcomes, like performance and emotional exhaustion. To achieve this objective, a survey that was designed based on existing research was administered to healthcare practitioners. The hypotheses generated to align with the research objective underwent regression analysis and were tested with SPSS 26 and Python 3.10, while essential reliability and validity analyses were conducted. The theory concerning the correlation between employee performance and measures of emotional work could not be rejected. Although the impact of surface acting and deep acting strategies, both of which fall within emotional labor strategies, on employee performance was found to be considerable, no significant effect was observed in relation to genuine acting behavior. Research has found that the level of religiosity has a beneficial impact on emotional labor, a topic that has not received much focus in existing literature

Tobacco are an elite good. The individual consumer selection determines the quality standards. The cultivation elements around plants have a significant impact on the success of tobacco production, in addition to the potential of the plants themselves. One of the less expensive criteria for attaining the objective of improving productivity and quality is the adoption of superior varieties. Using seedlings of unknown age when transferring plants to fields is one of the issues with tobacco farming in the West Sumatra Province\u27s fifty-city district. The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriate transplant age for tobacco plants of regional types found in the districts of fifty cities. This study used a random group scheme  with a single factor different ages at which local tobacco crops were transplanted. At the 5% level, the ratio analysis (test F) was used to analyse the data. At level 5%, the findings of the real ratio test were followed up with the Minimum Real Difference test. The following metrics were noted: plant height (cm), leaf width (cm), leaf length (cm), upper wet leaves wet weight (g), lower dry leaves dry weight (gram), middle dry weight (gram), and upper dry weight(gram). Observations When comparing the parameters of crop height, leaf length, leaf width, fresh leaf weight, and dried leaf of a tobacco plant, the usage of 45 days post-sowing seedage age had the greatest influence, as opposed to 30 days old seeds(DOS), 35 DOS, 40 DOS, 55 DOS, and 60 DOS

EFL Students’ Metaphorical Perception of their Learning Experience

    Get PDF
The present study explored EFL students\u27 perceptions and attitudes towards their learning experience through metaphors. Conceptual metaphor analysis (CMA), as a method of discourse analysis that was promoted by Lakoff and Johnson (1980), was employed. The selected students were provided with a survey to share their learning experience metaphorically with the prompt “Learning English is like.........” CMA was utilized to uncover the metaphorical aspect of the learning experience hidden in the simile provided by the students. The data collected was analyzed qualitatively by categorizing thematically the metaphors used. The analysis revealed the aspects of the students’ learning experience. Their experience is lengthy, challenging, difficult, painful, uncertain, fearful, and negative. Such negative images may indicate some problems and challenges that these students have never dealt with. Negative attitudes towards their learning experience do not allow students to improve their English learning. For this reason, it is recommended to investigate and address students\u27 issues and learning problems from the perspective of enhancing their perceptions of their educational and learning experiences. It was also concluded that students do not distinguish between their educational experience and learning experience

This research aims to analyze farmer participation in improving the dynamics of farmer groups, especially lowland rice farmer groups in Maluku.   This is considered important because there are still many farmer groups in Maluku that are not dynamic or tend to stagnate, for that it difficult to develop farmers. Waimital Village was chosen because it is the main center for lowland rice production in Maluku and all farmers are members of farmer groups.   The research respondents were determined to be five people representing each group consisting of the group leader and four members.  Thus, the number of respondents was 95 farmers as member group representing 19 existing farmer groups. Primary and secondary data were collected to form the basis of qualitative descriptive analysis.   The research results showed that the dynamics of farmer groups in Waimital Village were in the good category dominantly. Based on the elements of group dynamics, it can be seen that the elements of group goals were in the very good category; elements of group structure, task function, group development and maintenance, group cohesiveness and group atmosphere were in the good category;   and the elements of group pressure and group effectiveness were still in the medium category.   Farmers assess that farmer groups have functioned good, it was proven that 81.7% of farmers feel that farmer group has functioned well as a vehicle for learning and 90.2% feel that farmer group was a good vehicle for cooperation.Farmer participation was in the medium to high category, which means it can still be increase. To increase the participation of group members, support for facilities and infrastructures is needed from all relevant agencies and assistance for farmer groups in implementing group plans.   Increasing the participation of group members will increase the dynamics of farmer groups which will then increase the productivity of farmer groups
