HERSUS Sharing Platform [Commendation at 44th Salon of Architecture]
The HERSUS Sharing Platform is a digital platform for researchers and students conceived as an educational tool and archive of resources around the topics of sustainability and heritage awareness in architecture and urban design. The platform has been designed and developed as a source of reference and inspiration to refer to when doing research in the fields that the HERSUS project aims to investigate. In the platform, links are created between apparently distant subjects, showing underlying narratives, connections and overlappings that bring contents together on different levels
Composing Images: Architectural Montage as Design-Driven Research Tool
The main goal of this research project is to propose a new seeing of architectural montage which is strongly motivated by the framework of the newly formed field of study in research by design community – design-driven research. The reason for this research stems from the fact that in architectural historiography, in which montage first appeared in the late 1960s and early 1970s in the work of Italian historian and theoretician - Manfredo Tafuri, architectural montage has been mostly presented as a purely representational technique, neglecting its other potentials. With the recent development of the design-driven research framework, architectural montage has gained an extremely important new role in architectural discipline. Therefore, the main hypothesis of this research is that architectural montage is not exclusively a representational technique, rather it is a research tool that can produce knowledge within the architectural discipline.Composing Images: Architectural Montage as Design-Driven Research Tool, presented at CA²RE / CA²RE+ DELFT: RECOMMENDATION (March 28-April 1, 2022) in Delft, Netherlands, organized by Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft. Facility management: security and protection of buildings and their users
Pored zdravstvene zaštite i promena u koncepciji
zapostaviti ni primenu i unapređivanje dosadašnjih osnovnih zaštitnih mera izgrađenog
proces održavanja dao odgovarajuće i očekivane rezultate.
pretnje i uticaje.
u fazi korišćenja i upotrebe urbanog prostora.
Pored predstavljanja
osnovnih problema u korišćenju objekata sa aspekta zaštite i bezbednosti, ponuđenih preporuka
i rešenja, u radu se razmatra i primena istih u Zgradi tehničkih fakulteta u Beogradu. The coronavirus pandemic, present in the world for more than two years, has forced us
to adapt to the new situation and change the way we use, protect and maintain buildings,
or urban space in general. In addition to health care and changes made in the concept of
the organization of architectural space, especially when it comes to public buildings, the
application and improvement of previous basic protective measures of the built space, as
well as its users should not be neglected. These challenges need to be simultaneously taken
into consideration and responded to in such a way that the maintenance process should
deliver appropriate, expected and best results. Moreover, the threat of terrorist attacks and
endangering the security of facilities and people who use them has not been reduced, but,
unfortunately, is becoming more and more frequent and with more serious consequences.
This only confirms the previously stated thesis that the maintenance process must be
considered with due diligence and must respond to all security threats as well as possible.
The aim of the research is to present, describe and analyze some of the challenges in the
field of security and protection that complicate the process of facility management and
building maintenance, giving it an important role in the utilization and usage of urban space.
In addition to the presentation of the main problems regarding the usage of facilities from
the perspective of protection and security, the author discusses some recommendations
and solutions. The paper considers possible application of these solutions in the building
of the Technical Faculties in Belgrade
Representationally-transcriptive Model of Architectural Drawing [STRAND 2022]
Digital technologies are influencing the way in which the architectural drawing participates in the design process and the process of representing architectural space by establishing different models of drawing. One of these models is based on the methodology of transcribing the architectural space, which includes the simultaneous use of drawing as a means of research and representation. Specified model examines the use of traditional drawing techniques, everyday tools for documenting space and digital applications to simulate virtual reality experience used for perceiving the architectural space, which opens up the possibility of creating a new visual language in architecture.Rad je prikazan u delu publikacije - Nasl. str. prištampanog teksta: Philosophy of Architecture : exhibition book
Location intelligence dynamics and complexity : the questions of design strategy
The aim of this paper is to investigate newly developed spatial monitoring and analysis systems—the emergent area of location intelligence (LI) in relation to geographic information systems (GIS)—from the perspective of the design research strategic modification. It has been argued that this perspective implies corrective attributes and criteria that can advance the existing spatial research models and platforms by proposing a designerly enhanced intelligence research framework and technical solution while also integrating the external transformative issues that have posed a demand for spatial research systems rethinking and redefinition, too. These issues have been centred around the several notions—(1) the extension of the spatial research scale and domain marked by the move from geo-determinants to cosmo-determinants alongside locational or place-based specification, (2) the articulation of dynamic properties and complexity, and (3) the new forms and techniques of reasoning and representation in spatial sciences advanced by digital information technologies, the space-information integration, the use of large data-systems and their control. They have been thoroughly explained alongside different effects they produce, while terminological and technical refinements have been proposed in their regard, as well. The important scientific and theoretical research areas have been addressed for solid framing of such thematic and disciplinary convergence. Their synthesis has indicated the major objective of the paper—the construction of the new common ground for all spatial sciences in the form of the digital research and representation system, strategy and methodology based on design intelligence attributes and modes of operation.Author is permitted to self-archive a preprint and the accepted manuscript version of their Article.

Medieval templon with inseparable objects of prostration. A case of Saints Joachim and Anna church in the Studenica Monastery
The architecture of templon (stone sanctuary barrier), did not
change significantly during the Middle Ages. Certain changes
can be traced in relation to the position of the representations
of Christ and the Holy Virgin, which are important for understanding
the function of the templon. At the beginning of the
fourteenth century, a rather small church, dedicated to Sai0nts
Joachim and Anna, was built in the Studenica Monastery. The
remains of the marble closure slabs testify to the existence of a
stone templon. A reassessment of the available data has led us
to propose analysis of the original form of the templon, with
the frescoes of Christ and the Holy Virgin being its constituent
parts, painted directly to the north and south of the barrier. The paper is based on a presentation delivered at the Seventh
National Conference of Byzantine Studies held on 22–25 June 2021 in
Belgrade
Methodology of Representation and Transcription of Architectural Space: Discovering the Hybrid Model of Architectural Drawing
This paper problematizes the position of contemporary architectural drawing by examining its manifestations in new, hybrid forms and roles of drawing, as a consequence of the paradigmatic changes brought about by the digital revolution. Furthermore, it assumes that the drawing in the architectural design process becomes a versatile, multi-layered and hybrid tool, which has an increasingly important role in the field of architectural research. Digital technologies are influencing the way in which the architectural drawing participates in the design process and the process of representing architectural space by establishing different models of drawing. One of these models is based on the methodology of transcribing architectural space, which includes the simultaneous use of drawing as a means of research and representation. Selected model discussed in this paper, examines the use of traditional drawing techniques, everyday tools for documenting space and digital applications for simulating virtual reality experience. Combining these three, arises the possibility of creating a novel visual language in architecture, which is here to be discussed
Aesthetic Communication Discourse of Urban Design for Fourth Order Design in Sustainable Urban Regeneration
The research examines several aspects of urban design in order to build on its integrative potential for sustainable urban regeneration. It will discuss the concept and definition of urban design to support the claim that process-oriented urban design can foster creative integration, despite opposing urban development paradigms for fourth-order design. Sustainable urban regeneration will be studied via the perspective of aesthetics in communication as the primary integrative instrument of fourth-order design. The paper presents a theoretical and conceptual overview of numerous integrating elements of urban design. Thus, the process of philosophical and theoretical comparisons is utilized within the disciplines of sustainability, communication, and aesthetics
Cultural and natural heritage as a driver for sustainable landscape development
The Roman Limes - a former natural border of the Roman Empire has been recognized as a cultural landscape with exceptional universal values of international importance by UNESCO. In the Republic of Serbia, the Roman Limes encompasses the Danube river valley. Within this part of the Roman Limes, the Djerdap segment, which includes sites of different historical periods, stands out. However, most of the sites are underwater due to the construction of the Hydroelectric Power Plant. Physical inaccessibility to cultural heritage has led to insufficient presentation and promotion, but also a lack of information about its existence. Therefore, the main goals of this paper are to spread knowledge about the existence of the cultural and natural heritage of the Djerdap segment, as well as to identify the potential for their integration into contemporaneity. The results are presented through an urban-architectural project that is the sublimation of formed critical attitudes about the cultural heritage treatments. The expected results of the research include raising awareness of the importance of the cultural and natural heritage of the Djerdap segment through the promotion of cultural routes, as well as forming a potential model for their use in the process of establishing sustainable landscape development
