Exo Case-Study and Prototype of the Dynamic Responsive Architectural System: The Key Attributes of Systemic Integration and Design – Part I
As a part of the series of studies that have investigated different aspects of the Exo project and its arguments for the format and technical solution of the computed architecture-instrument, this paper focuses on main attributes and criteria that qualify this kind of architectural design for the categories of dynamic and kinetic responsive architectural systems, inquiring spatial and technological integration and design they claim. The concepts of these systems, theoretically presumed and practically tested in this project, have been contextualized within the wider field of research in this area (including relevant literature, comparative and referential examples), activating hereby interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary potentials for resolving critical issues of the desired and analyzed architectural format. By converging sentience (remote and close-up sensing), electronic integration, algorithmic (software) command-and-control and automation, smart or intelligent performance, kinetics, performativity, adaptability, responsiveness, and interaction in relation to the variable (dynamic) input parameters, Exo claims the status of the representative example of the argued and investigated system design. Since the first stage of the experiment (the proof of a concept) has left the full application of targeted attributes partly unresolved, their detailed analysis and critical observation will be provided and presented so as to refine and more precisely direct further prototyping and project development. In parallel, the particularity of this case will be led towards the universal set of principles within the aim of its wider application in different design situations
Glossary: 'Exo' Case-Study and Prototype of the Dynamic Responsive Architectural System: The Key Attributes of Systemic Integration and Design - Part I and Part II [lexicographic study]
Glossary represents a supplementary scientific material compiled with the aim to better explain and theoretically support key issues and concepts investigated in the original scientific papers “Exo Case-Study and Prototype of the Dynamic Architectural Responsive System: The Key Attributes of Systemic Integration and Design – Part I” and “Exo Case-Study and Prototype of the Dynamic Architectural Responsive System: The Key Attributes of Systemic Integration and Design – Part II.” Based on the fact that these papers engage and deploy a large number of terms that could not have been otherwise properly addressed through a standard confrontation of various perspectives and descriptors, the parallel study has been conducted, providing thereby all necessary answers to the question of papers' general terminology. The selected information gathered through the extensive scientific and professional literature review and analysis has been organized into the presented form of the glossary, having built its terminological network so as to comply with the requirements of the papers themselves, and facilitate and support their understanding. In this regard, the standards of the glossary format have been relatively modified in terms of the papers’ content and the way their research subjects can influence the systems of organization of the glossary units. As a result of such change in methodological approach, the units have been adjusted to follow the papers’ topics - the newly proposed format has addressed the papers’ terminology in a highly customized manner while also retaining a degree of universality that can be applied to all studies having similar composition of research fields and issues that the main papers have addressed.Glossary represents a separate lexicographic study created upon the peer reviewers’ request as a part of the manuscript revision phase within the HRPUB Civil Engineering and Architecture publishing process. It has been assembled in order to follow up and complement the content of the following articles:

Influence of cultural trends and population migration on change of the traditional architectural expression of residential architecture
This paper presents a part of wider research regarding the transformations of the traditional architectural expression of residential architecture under the influence of cultural trends and population migrations. The research is based on the analysis of the transformation of the spatial-functional organization, as well as structural and architectural characteristics of vernacular architecture in relation to social-cultural trends. The aim of this particular paper is to define the newly formed cultural patterns that have an impact on the changes in the architectural expression of the traditional Serbian house of the Moravian-style. The focus of this study is on the street facade, as an element that represents the contact zone between the private life of users and the public sphere. Through comparative analysis of traditional and contemporary forms of street facades of residential architecture, the study results provide conclusions about the principles of transformation of architectural values of vernacular architecture under newly formed cultural patterns. This type of analysis, with emphasis on architectural expression, introduces a new kind of interpretation of population migrations and their reflections on vernacular residential architecture. This study could improve knowledge about the impact of migration on the formation of cross-cultural patterns that (re)shape the architectural values of space.https://www.strand.rs/2022-proceedings
On the line of architecture - drawings and sketches in architecture [award: BAB 2022]
The vibrations produced by the environment inevitably remain recorded somewhere deep within us. The architect's advantage is that he can translate the received vibration into a drawing. The recorded moment then becomes visible. Hand drawing reflects picked up vibrations in a simple way. It is not limited by technology which depends on many factors. It enables immediate reaction to provocation. The only limitation that exists is ourselves
Urban Morphology and Urban Design Competitions in Serbia: Between Substantial and Procedural Aspects
This research aims to open up a discussion about morphological perspective in the procedural and substantial aspects of urban design competitions, with the specific focus on Serbian context. The research builds on the previous findings concerning treatment of heritage in design competitions, presented on the 2020 ECTP-CEU Young planners' workshop. Research starts from the hypothesis that competitions offer the possibility of obtaining unique solutions, provide a platform for the presentation of new ideas, but also new views on the good, thus reducing the pressures of globalization, neoliberalism, and multiplication of identical and generalized patterns and forms. On the one side, research will offer understanding of the (1) procedural aspect (initiation, submission, evaluation, and implementation of urban design competitions) and (2) substantial aspect (competition brief content, design perspective, evaluation criteria structure) of urban design competitions. On the other side, the research will reflect on authors personal experience, both from the position of a jury member and a competition participant. Analysis of the above-stated elements could provide comprehensive insights into understanding the way how urban morphology can be used both as a method and theory in design process, and as a valuable element in evaluation process. This paper will argue for the need to strengthen the bond between urban morphology and urban design competitions, especially having in mind current urban development in post-socialist countries that are faced with various social and political pressures

Fragility as Resilience: Designing the Balance of the Natural and Built on the example of an Open Competition for the Wider Area of the Hippodrome in Belgrade
In a global and local context today, it is difficult to recognize let alone to design a sensitive balance between natural and built, which will enable further development of human activities while developing awareness of the importance of preserving nature, its processes and balance. We must regulate the indisputable pressure to build new capacities of urban tissue with strategies that intertwine built and unbuilt, manmade and natural, into a single mechanism of interaction.
The design concept, which puts the fragility of the named balance in the foreground, enables the spatial-program scenarios of life in cities to be placed in an interdependent relationship with the nature so that the concept of built structure does not rest on the strength of architectural form or technological solution. As a testing ground for studying these issues, we take the winning competition proposal of the urban-architectural competition for the area of the Hippodrome. The competition site belongs to the wider spatial area "Topčider", an especially significant and authentic space since it unites the city's natural, historical and cultural heritage. The competition proposal examines the possibilities for the development of the interconnectedness of nature and the city through the concept of fragility
Multiplicity of things coming together over time : apartment in the city center [prikaz - izvedeno autorsko delo]
Space for a family of three is not so ample, but the two-sided orientation enables the flow of air and light. The design concept is based on increasing the intensity of that very flow. Several elements that unite services and installation paths in the volume's core are connected with a grey envelope inside which a mirror cube is immersed. A mirrored cube hides the bathroom, the built-in kitchen, and all storage spaces. Towards the edges of the volume (facade planes), assemblages of wall-shelf-window-bench in the day zone and the desk-shelf in the night zone are formed, which together with the large table, a ring of light, and a small balcony-garden make an assemblage that "implies the rejection of unity in favor of multiplicity, and the rejection of essence in favor of events."
