The Object as a Series of Its Acts
Our intention is to construct the conditions for a new position that more closely explains the reality of the object (its location, concreteness, possibility of being seen, extension, instantaneousness, etc.), but also the object’s movement, the “situation” in which it is or becomes a potential agent that “works,” influences
us and incites us to movement towards us, indeed gives us a turn towards an ideal object and its realization. Using a variety of texts that thematize the object, a few passages from Hegel, we attempt to re-veal connections between key architectural (and not only architectural) concepts, form a given epistemological order, and differentiate amongst basic acts and operations that could be ascribed to the object

Konferencija BuildUp okupila domaće i regionalne arhitekte koji su predstavili projekte rekonstrukcije, renoviranja i prenamene objekata.
U centru ovih procesa nalaze se arhitekte koji starim zgradama treba da udahnu novi život. Upravo oni biće predavači i učesnici panel diskusija na trećoj po redu konferenciji BuildUp sa temom Re:Gradnja.
Konferencija BuildUp okupiće domaće i regionalne arhitekte koji će razmatrati jednu od najvažnijih disciplinarnih tema u veku koji je pred nama. U fokusu naše pažnje biće projekti rekonstrukcije, renoviranja i prenamene.

Generating Spatial Structures [The 23rd Salon of Architecture, 2023]
Sprovedeni eksperiment obuhvata istraživački rad u oblasti parametarskog, generativnog i interaktivnog dizajna. Ispitivanje analognih i digitalnih metoda generisanja prostornih struktura sastoji se iz tri celine. Prva celina podrazumeva istraživanje forme (form-finding) ljuski u dve faze primenom koncepta obrnutog visećeg modela. Dok se u prvoj fazi, proces traženja ravnotežnog oblika ljuske simulira upotrebom obrnutog visećeg analognog modela/makete u vidu mreže sastavljene od lančanica, u drugoj fazi se isti taj proces simulira upotrebom obrnutog visećeg digitalnog modela u vidu mreže sastavljene od štapova. Usvojena mreža kvadratne topologije formirana je korišćenjem spajalica/pravih linijskih elemenata shodno analognoj/digitalnoj metodi, respektivno. Druga celina podrazumeva istraživanje forme (form-finding) membrana, takođe u dve faze. Dok se u prvoj fazi, proces traženja ravnotežnog oblika mehanički prednapregnute membranske strukture simulira upotrebom analognog modela/makete od rastegljivog tekstila, ujednačenim zatezanjem tkanine preko prethodno postavljenih oslonaca zarad postizanja prednaprezanja u njenoj površi, u drugoj fazi se isti taj proces simulira upotrebom digitalnog modela u vidu diskretne mreže sastavljene od elastičnih štapova. Treća celina podrazumeva istraživanje forme (form-finding) svodova primenom Trust Network Analysis (TNA) metode, samo u sklopu jedne faze, i to u okviru digitalnog okruženja. Proces traženja ravnotežnog oblika svodne konstrukcije simulira se upotrebom digitalnog modela u vidu diskretne mreže sastavljene od štapova.The experiment performed includes research work in the field of parametric, generative, and interactive design. Examination of analogue and digital methods of generating spatial structures consists of three parts. The first part involves form-finding of shell structures in two phases by applying the concept of inverted hanging model. While in the first phase, the process of finding the equilibrium shape of a shell is simulated using an inverted hanging analogue model/mock-up in the form of a mesh composed of chains, in the second phase the same process is simulated using an inverted hanging digital model in the form of a mesh composed of rods. The adopted mesh of square topology is formed using staples/linear elements according to analogue/digital method, respectively. The second part involves form-finding of tensile membrane structures, also in two phases. While in the first phase, the process of finding the equilibrium shape of a mechanically pretensioned membrane structure is simulated using an analogue model/mock-up of stretchy textile, by uniformly stretching the fabric over previously placed supports in order to generate pretension in its surface, in the second phase, the same process is simulated using a digital model in the form of a discrete mesh composed of elastic rods. The third part involves form-finding of vault structures by applying the Trust Network Analysis (TNA) method, only in one phase, and within the digital environment. The influence of air pollution on the quality of life in urban areas at an example of Belgrade: potential consequences and intervention measures
The quality of life in urban areas greatly depends on the level of public health of the population, and on the way we are dealing with climate change. Air pollution is one of the primary health problems facing Belgrade, as well as most cities around the world. In this study, data for the Belgrade area on the concentration of negative particles (PM10 and PM2.5) and pollutants (NO2) in the air were analyzed. The results show that the level of air pollution in Belgrade is above the allowed limits for most of the analyzed components, which affects respiratory function, increases the risk of respiratory diseases and also endangers cardiovascular health. These results indicate the need for urgent and effective measures to reduce air pollution in Belgrade in order to improve the quality of life. This study also deals with the analysis of potential intervention measures, regarding the climate change issues, that affect the reduction of air pollution in cities. One of the main and most effective measures is the control of emissions of pollutants from transport, through the promotion of more efficient vehicles and fuels, as well as the construction of environmentally sustainable transportation systems. Also, the promotion of maintenance and increasing of green infrastructure can have a positive impact on reducing emissions of pollutants and improving overall air quality. Finally, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, healthy diet, and physical activity can improve immunity and help in the prevention of air pollution-related diseases.Квалитет живота у урбаним срединама умногоме зависи од нивоа јавног здравља становништва, односно начина на који се суочавамо са климатским променама. Аерозагађење је један од примарних проблема, са аспекта здравља, са којим се суочава Београд, али и већина градова широм света. У овом раду анализирани су подаци за територију Београда о концентрацији негативних честица (PM10 и PM2.5) и онечишћујућих гасова (NO2) у ваздуху. Резултати показују да је ниво аерозагађења у Београду преко допуштених граница за већину анализираних компоненти, што утиче на респираторну функцију, повећава ризик од респираторних обољења, док угрожава и кардиоваскуларно здравље. Ови резултати указују на потребу за хитним и ефикасним мерама за смањење аерозагађења у Београду, како би се побољшао квалитет живота становништва. Овај рад се уједно бави и анализом потенцијалних мера интервенција које утичу на смањење проблема проузрокованих климатским променама, са фокусом на аерозагађење у градовима. Један од главних и најефикаснијих мера јесте контрола емисије онечишћујућих гасова из транспорта, кроз промоцију ефикаснијих возила и горива, као и изградњу еколошки одрживих транспортних система. Такође, промоција очувања и увећања површине зелене инфраструктуре може да има позитиван утицаја на смањење емисије онечишћујућих гасова, као и побољшање квалитета ваздуха. Коначно, промоција здравог начина живота, здрава исхрана и физичка активност могу да побољшају имунитет и помажу у борби против болести повезаних са аерозагађењем
Learning Through Experience: Rethinking Space After the Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic caused the transformation of the traditional learning environment by creating forms of distance education or mixed forms of education to meet the imposed restrictions. This period is characterized by the testing of different approaches to the educational process in the field of architectural design, as well as the need to adapt the educational model to a newly formed lifestyle in an urban environment and its reflections on space. The new forms of the Pandemic impact on the educational process in architectural design will be presented through the experimental research Post-Covid Architecture. This experiment represents a spontaneously formed flow of research through an architectural design that initiated specific considerations of space focused on the isolation experiences, and lifestyle during the Pandemic, as well as the consequences that changed the overall patterns of behavior. Testing of a design methodology based on David Kolb`s Experiential learning model was carried out at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture at the Master's academic studies Interior Architecture as part of the Master's final thesis under the theme Contemporary Spectacle - Culture and Craftsmanship. This experiment is presented through the selected student projects. The paper aims to show the application of an educational model that transforms personal experiences into operational tools in the design process. Testing the different approaches and methodological models to the teaching process in the field of architectural design is reflected in the expansion of the potential of thinking about space. Sustainability, in the framework of architectural education, is determined by the openness of the methodology and process following the contemporary transformations of the needs and demands of users. These tendencies reflect the necessity of space changes creating new standards of architectural programming
Green Cities: Utopia or Reality? Evidence from Zurich, Switzerland
There is an overall scientific consensus that green spaces positively affect urban dwellers’ health and well-being. However, there is a gap between knowledge and policy objectives, and their translation into effective interventions to unleash the benefits of green spaces. Examining such ‘implementation gap’ in Zurich is relevant due to the integration of the ‘green urban agenda’ in various Swiss policies. The research narrows its focus to district 9, including the Altstetten and Albisrieden neighborhoods, which contain diverse green spaces despite ongoing densification. The study further explores four green space clusters and their 400-m catchment areas within the district. The research applies a mixed-method approach at three analytical levels: (1) identification of the critical tenets associated with the ‘green urban agenda’ through a review of multi-scale national policies, (2) assessment of green spaces’ provision, types, size, and mutual connectivity in Zurich’s district 9 based on online available quantitative data and on-site observation, and (3) identification of the dominant activities in four green space clusters through on-site observation. Through critical mutual examination of the identified ‘green urban agenda’ principles in the national policies and green space attributes, the findings reveal the extent of the convergence or divergence between policy trends and their implementation in practice
Реконструкција и доградња Музеја Крајине у Неготину
Музеј Крајине у Неготину је основан 1934. године. У простор у коме се данас налази сели се 1952. године, у породичну кућу трговца Душана Јотића која је саграђена крајем XIX и почетком XX века.
У раду је кратко приказан пројектантски процес и избор решења за потребе реконструкције унутрашњег простора и пренамене објекта из стамбеног у музеолошки.
Примењене су архитектонске и грађевинске методе у решавању функције и естетике унутрашњег простора које су омогућиле реализацију свих музеолошких захтева са одговарајућим техничким системима.
Резултат реконструкције, функционалне пренамене и доградње музеја Крајине је заштита и продужетак животног века значајног објекта, осавремењавање и допуњавање сталне поставке, као и добијање додатног простора за рад кустоса и организовање других активности у музејском простору
Elements of the future housing in Serbia: aspects of sustainability - the Ovca settlement
Ako posmatramo stan kao proizvod sociokulturne ere kojoj pripada, stanovanje bi se moglo definisati kao specifičan skup predubeđenja o tome kako će se koristiti. U radu se razmatra fenomen brzih promena uobičajenosti koji preovlađuju u organizaciji arhitektonskog prostora i stambenih kompleksa, kao i njihovoj upotrebi u našem društvu. Stanovanje je osnovna i preovlađujuća urbana funkcija i način na koji je njegova struktura strukturisana zavisi od mnogih faktora, od jednostavnih ekonomskih proračuna, do složene eteričnosti ljudske sreće. Konceptualni okvir u domenu zdravih gradova: značenje, svrha i formativni elementi
Many recent researches and studies have pointed out the necessity of
developing comprehensive conceptual frameworks for healthy cities. Accordingly, this
study aims to explain the conceptual framework for healthy cities research, planning,
and design by identifying its meaning, purpose and formative elements. The research
was conducted through qualitative techniques, such as conceptual, thematic and
content analysis of the relevant literature and case studies. Results show that the
conceptual framework contains voluminous conceptual knowledge about healthy cities
and suggest that conceptual framework on healthy cities can include elements such as:
1) a subject, problems, methods, research questions, 2) theories, models, empirical data
and practice data, concepts and relations among these concepts, principles; 3) the
visual presentation of its contents, and a manual for its usage and development;
authors’ values, beliefs and thinking. A conceptual framework, based on the elements
mentioned above, serves to systematically explain the healthy cities and to support the
research, planning and design in the process of its developing. These findings can help
to advance knowledge and scientific understanding of conceptual frameworks of
contemporary cities in the domain of health, planning, designing and research. Also,
the presented findings can serve as a basis for developing a comprehensive conceptual
framework for healthy cities in the future. For example, existing conceptual frameworks
could be analysed and new ones developed according to the proposed elements and
purposes. In these cases, the proposed elements and purposes would be a unique
criterion for the analysis and development of the conceptual frameworks.Mnoga nedavna istraživanja i studije su ukazivale na neophodnost razvoja sveobuhvatnih
konceptualnih okvira za zdrave gradove. Shodno tome, ova studija teži da objasni konceptualni okvir za
istraživanje, planiranje i projektovanje zdravih gradova određujući njegovo značnje, svrhu i formativne
elemente. Istraživanje je sprovedeno kroz kvalitativne tehnike, kao što su konceptualna, tematska i
analiza sadržaja relevantne literature i studija slučaja. Rezultati pokazuju da konceptualni okvir sadrži
obimno konceptualno znanje o zdravim gradovim i sugerišu da konceptualni okvir o zdravim gradovima
treba da sadrži elemente kao što su: 1) predmet, problemi, metode, istraživačka pitanja, 2) teorije,
modeli, empirijski podaci i praktični podaci, pojmovi i odnosi između ovih pojmova, principa; 3) vizuelni
prikaz njegovog sadržaja i priručnik za njegovu upotrebu i izradu; vrednosti, uverenja i razmišljanja
autora. Konceptualni okvir zasnovan na prethodno navedenim elementima služi da podrži istraživanje,
planiranje i projektovanje u procesu razvoja zdravih gradova. Ovi nalazi mogu pomoći da se unapredi
znanje i naučno razumevanje konceptualnih okvira o savremenim zdravim gradovima u domenu
zdravlja, planiranja, projektovanja i istraživanja. Takođe, prikazani nalazi mogu da posluže kao osnova
za razvoj sveobuhvatnog konceptualnog okvira za zdrave gradove u budućnosti. Na primer, postojeći
konceptualni okviri bi mogli da se analizirju kao i da se razviju novi prema predloženim elementima i
svrsi. U navedenim slučajevima, predloženi elementi i svrhe bi bili jedinstveni kriterijum za analizu
postojećih i razvoj novih konceptualnih okivira
Development Methods and Principles for Planning Central Activities - Method for Measuring Centrality for Sustainable Development and Integrative Places
The study investigates the possibility of enhancing the technique for estimating the level of development of central activities, both general and specialised, at the settlement level in order to improve planning solutions for sustainability. The conceptual framework reflects sustainable development and integrative planning, as described by UN charters, within which improvements to the modernist and functionalist approaches to the philosophy of planning central activities are examined and offered. The lack of a qualitative determination of the functionalist theory's importance in the field of sustainability is a flaw of the method of assessing its centrality. As a result, the author proposes an improved, integrative model for determining the state and level of development of central activities, which is based on existing theories and their improvement with qualitative determinations of territory integrability, using GIS as a tool in the process of creating a planning solution for the development of central activities for the needs of Amendments and Supplements to the PPO Pecinci. The research will focus on centrality as one of the features of the centres, and will give recommendations for improving the model of its assessment and development using the example of the PPO Pecinci amendment. In this case, centrality was defined and measured using theoretical models, resulting in a specific method for cases where it is possible to measure concentration but data on capital turnover, i.e. the level of frequency of use of a specific point of concentration, are unavailable or impossible to establish. The precision of this approach is directly related to the accuracy of determining the concentration of the central spot, and it is further characterized by the weights allocated to certain indicators in respect to the qualitative criteria
