Villa Porta Maestra – rekonstrukcija i prenamena, Hvar [45. salon arhitekture, 2023] [nagrada - kategorija Zaštita graditeljskog nasleđa]
Something from Nothing: Hotel of Parallel Reality [STRAND 2023]
In the physical world of information, Creation Ex Nihilo (V. Vedral) presents the creation of a reality for the purpose of another one, unraveling the deepest issues of the universe, and considering our interpretation of the nature. Hotel Palacio in Estoril and Hotel Bristol Belgrade depict symbolic connection with this concept for the needs of architectural research. The subtext is the narrative of the novel (D. T. Stanković), and in the life of the hotel and its characters, it is a two-way journey in the search for the meaning of change, leaving and returning. Reality, which uses architectural means, is created to prove the potential of the architectural particularity.

Defining a protocol for evaluation of indoor air quality in school buildings
Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) is a significant issue in the process of designing new buildings, but also during the evaluation of the existing building stock. The parameter that is the dominant indicator of achieving an adequate level of IEQ is Indoor Air Quality (IAQ). Since children spend most of their time in schools achieving an adequate level of the indoor environment is especially important. Inadequate IEQ can cause serious consequences on their health and well-being. Current research and practice show that there is a lack of a uniform protocol for the evaluation of IAQ in buildings. Consequently, different research methodologies provide inconsistent results and prevent real insight into the state of IAQ in buildings. This paper aims to define the indoor air quality evaluation protocol that will allow uniform and wholesome insight into the current state of the indoor environment in a school building in Serbia. The protocol will be defined through steps and parameters that should be considered in order to get a complete insight into IAQ in buildings. Implementation of the protocol should provide recommendations for the treatment of school buildings both during energy renovation as well as future design
City as Palimpsest: Visible and Invisible Memory of “Students Square” in Belgrade
The New heritage paradigm is changing the way in which the past is valued and affirming the pluralised and user-oriented presentation of visible and invisible urban memory. The assumption of the paper is that reading the city as a palimpsest can be the basis for a democratic heritage presentation and a multivocal and multitemporal understanding of the past by unveiling the visible and invisible layers of urban memory. The question arises to what extent traditional formats of heritage presentation in public spaces can respond to these demands. This paper aims to explain the concept and method of reading the city as a palimpsest and to demonstrate its application in the case of Students Square in Belgrade to discover and unveil invisible urban memory, while critically reviewing the traditional presentation formats and their ability to adequately present it in public spaces. The results of the research confirm the potential of the palimpsest method and point to a selective approach and physical limitations of traditional formats to present the complexity of urban memory in urban public spaces
Potentials for a complex and integrated refurbishment of post‑war housing stock of Serbia
This paper presents the possibilities for energy retrofitting of existing multi-family residential buildings constructed during the mass construction period in Serbia, which exhibit high energy consumption for heating. The research focuses on determining approaches to achieve deep energy renovation goals through interventions on the building envelope. The study analyzes the application of a methodology of complex and integrated refurbishment by adding volumes (increasing usable space) to existing multifamily buildings to achieve high energy efficiency, modernize residential units, and improve vertical building communications. The study includes analysis of two selected residential multi-family buildings of different types constructed during the same period. The research examines the energy performance of the existing state of selected buildings and two variants of improving the building envelope’s energy performance: refurbishment scenario 1 (without volumetric additions) and refurbishment scenario 2 (with volumetric additions). Current energy regulations in Serbia only analyze energy consumption for heating, limiting the calculation of total energy consumption. Therefore, this study calculates heating energy consumption and determines the energy class based on the results. Based on the Knaufterm simulations, the energy savings for heating energy consumption compared to the existing state are in case study 1 (RS1 73.5%, RS2 79.5%) and in case study 2 (RS1 68.3%, RS2 77.3%). Furthermore, the research explores the application of prefabricated lightweight timber assemblies in energy refurbishment that meet not only energy but also broader environmental requirements derived from the concept of sustainable architecture

The intention of this article is to present the results of the first six months of the project implementation and to highlight specific conclusions which can contribute to threefold perspectives – educational, practical, and policy framework and contextual condition
Tracing the Roots of Urban Morphology Through Academic Engagement in the Field of Architecture in Serbia
Even though the Serbian Network of Urban Morphology (SNUM) is one of the youngest networks within the International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF), it is believed that each of the networks is grounded and developed on the knowledge coming from the synthesis of science, practice, and education. This research aims to trace the origins of urban morphology in the context of Serbia by assessing the academic engagement of key scholars over time. The research builds on previous findings concerning the origins and genesis of teaching urban morphology in Serbia and a review of academic and practical thoughts and actions in Belgrade. Using data collection, content analysis of annual Faculty books and programs, retrospective faculty books, internal documents, accreditation documents, lecture notes, books, and editions in the subject field and by diagramming and visualization, research tends to establish a broad and detailed framework for creating timelines and identifying clusters. Periodization identifies four different periods that are metaphorically named according to plant growth - formation of Fertile ground, Suitable climate, Sprouts, and Shoots while the clustering enables the detection of the continuity of urban morphology in three scientific fields in the faculty – architecture, urbanism, and history. The metaphor with plant growth is significant for underlining that the roots of any field of study are of immense importance, both for understanding its origin, starting ground, and intellectual heritage, and for its proper growth

Promocija EU кohezionih politiкa - 12 teritorijalnih strategija za održivi i integralni urbani i teritorijalni razvoj [ 32.
Кljučne elemente EU pristupa održivom i integralnom urbanom i teritorijalnom razvoju čine: strateška dimenzija; prostorna dimenzija; upravljanje urbanim i teritorijalnim razvojem; međusektorski pristup; finansiranje; monitoring i evaluacija, i implementacija. The EU program for local development - EU PRO Plus supported the development of 12 territorial strategies in Serbia. Territorial strategies are the focus of sustainable and integral urban and territorial development promoted by the EU through cohesion policies. They reflect the current understanding of strategic planning, which is seen as an adaptive process involving change management. Territorial strategies are "collective road maps" that aim to initiate the desired change. The key elements of the EU's approach to sustainable and integral urban and territorial development are: the strategic dimension; spatial dimension; management of urban and territorial development; intersectoral approach; financing; monitoring and evaluation, and implementation
