8th International CFA Artist of the Month Award [Honorable Mention]
The awards in this contest included 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners and 21 Finalists, 50 Honorable Mention Awards, 50 Masterful Mind Awards, 50 Artistic Excellence Awards. Revisiting Digital Literacy : Deep Learning and Generative AI in AEC education
“Digital literacy is the ability to understand information and—more important—to evaluate and integrate information in multiple formats that the computer can deliver.” – Paul Gilster, 1997
The concept of Digital Literacy emerged in response to the internet and its groundbreaking impact. It is foreseeable that Generative AI tools will have a similarly profound impact on the AEC sector. Some of today’s AEC students have already recognized the potential of these tools. They use Chat GPT for solving programming tasks and for completing written assignments, and employ DALL-E, Midjourney, or Stable Diffusion to generate and test initial ideas for design projects. As educators, it is our responsibility to introduce all students to how these rapidly evolving tools work. Moreover, we need to enable them to use these tools in a responsible manner, and with a critical attitude. For example, the images produced by above-mentioned tools are aesthetically fascinating, but they are not reflecting the physical reality and requirements of buildings, including construction constraints, joints, or structural soundness. While pointing this out as a flaw, we can at the same time refer to very recent and still evolving tools such as Point-E, which produces 3D point clouds from complex prompts, and which migh
Plan of general arrangement of industrial zone by the Grmovac settlement – integral industial Park Grmovac [33rd International urban planners' exhibition, 2024]
REstore Action Dissemination Yield - RESTORE READY Conferences
Four years after the launch of COST Action RESTORE: REthinking Sustainability TOwards a Regenerative Economy, the city of Belgrade hosted the COST RESTORE READY Conference on April 9, 2021. This event brought together four years of research and collaboration on regenerative design, providing a platform to share insights and explore its application in Serbia and across Europe.
READY (REstore Action Dissemination Yield) conferences are designed to disseminate the findings of the RESTORE initiative at a macro-regional level, fostering dialogue on regenerative approaches to sustainability. The Belgrade conference emphasized creating opportunities to do ‘more good’ for the built environment by advancing sustainable and regenerative practices.
By promoting a regenerative approach to sustainability, the RESTORE project seeks to inspire open and dynamic discussions on transitioning to sustainable practices in architecture, urban development, and other sectors influencing the environment
Eco project - This Waste is not a Toy! [BAB 2023] [Urbanism: third place]
3. nagrada u oblasti URBANIZAMThe idea for the project was a result of the wish to map
illegal dumping sites, the number of which increases
every year. The inspiration for this project was a famous
LEGO figure, a part of my ever favourite brick set for
building. I wanted to show that only working with the
youngest, the ones still at their pre-school age, we can
influence their way of thinking about a very important
issue – waste. That’s why this symbol of children’s play is
first dressed in recyclable cardboard, then in plastic bags
and nylon, and finally in secondary raw materials, which
people recklessly dump in our environment. Translated
from Danish LEGO* is an abbreviation from LEG GODT
meaning have a good game. This is also an appeal for all
the adults to play good games with their children because
it’s our ticket to a healthy future!

Exit [BeSkrajnost, 2023]
Illegal urbanization and climate change - consequences and risks of wrong decisions
(UN-Habitat, 2009; World Bank Institute, 2010).
This paper deals with the impact of the effects of climate change on the
course of urbanization, with a special focus on illegal and informal
settlements, whose exposure to these impacts is significantly greater
and/or different than in the planned parts of the city.
Today, urban planning faces numerous and growing challenges, such as
accelerated urbanization, management of city growth and informal
settlements, climate change, large demographic pressures and poverty,
energy needs, and others (Mitrović & Antonić, 2013). On the other hand,
the number of inhabitants in illegal and informal settlements has exceeded
one billion inhabitants on all continents and in differently developed
countries. Inhabitants of informal/illegal settlements are becoming
increasingly vulnerable and under the influence of a wide range of hazards
and risks, such as: various infectious diseases, poor waste management
and disposal, landslides, floods, poor infrastructure that cannot handle
stormwater, lack or poor sanitation, lack or poor access to health services,
and others. Therefore, it is necessary that sustainable urban planning and
land use adapt work modalities to changes and growing urban problems
and that established principles are consistently applied to ensure the
effectiveness of urban policies (UN-Habitat, 2009; World Bank Institute,
2010).
The locations and areas of some illegal settlements represent a special
problem because they contribute to increasing the risk of these settlements
from disasters. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the locations of
informal/illegal areas from the point of view of assessing the risk of
disasters and the consequences of climate change. Concluding, the aim of
the work is to highlight and classify the risks in illegal settlements and
recommend measures that could reduce the harmful effects of the adverse
effects of climate change
Retail and Housing Complex [BAB 2023] [award: Recognition in Non realization category]
Related to the immediate context of the site, the architectural approach was to provide a balance within the mixed-use development, such as residential, commercial and public space facilities. Common principles for the integration of residential activities, social infrastructure and the public realm, ensure a central public landscaped environment at the ground level with vertical integration of residential blocks at upper levels. The public areas have been located around the main pedestrian square, to allow the commercial components to be oriented both on community residents and passing trade from non-residents. The majority of the residential development within the site is given over to the low-rise building of 4 stories high. The design approach allows residents to be able to retreat to tranquil private external spaces at the upper levels. On the other side, the additional small building at the front clearly defines the boundaries of public space and main pedestrian routes inside the location.3d: Ljubiša Bogićevi
