    Šetač [19. Likovni salon 30x30 : Projekat čovek - čovečanstvo, 2024]

    No full text
Zasnovana na estetici piktogramskog grafizma, ilustracija ukazuje na stradanje čoveka današnjice, pogubljenog u moru potrošačke kulture. Iznuren hiperprodukcijom manipulativnog medisjkog sadržaja, čovek postaje isprazna ljuštura i lak plen korporativnih sistema i globalnih brendova, ali i različitih političkih narativa. No full text
Predmet istraživanja studije je forenzička istraživačka metoda u polju integrativnog dejstva prostornih, arhitektonskih i urbanističkih dizajn studija i studija bezbednosti u širem sklopu relevantnih društvenih studija. The research subject of the study is the forensic research method observed within the integrative field of spatial, architectural and urban design studies and security studies. Initially considered an art of argumentation in public deliverance of proof, forensics in the defined context possesses specificity of speech of the proofs inherent to spatial entities and practices regarding all spatial scales. Thus, in concepts of spatial, urban, and architectural forensics one finds argumentation of spatial entities within the proving procedures for legal and security frameworks. Inside the three-part configuration that Weizman (2017) postulates as a basis of forensic architecture methodology, containing the following: 1) the investigated matter or object, which is made to speak, 2) the interpreter or analyst that translates the language of objects to people, and 3) translation, or the form, content, and way the results are presented to the public or an assembly where claims are made and contested, one recognises 1) the role of space and spatial artefacts as material proofs themselves, as well as objects preserving proofs or their inscriptions, 2) the profession of spatial, architectural, and urban designers and analysts that are able to read and translate the speech of space and spatial artefacts, relying on expert skills to identify relevant facts, and 3) argumentation form – the expertise, professional assessment, or report that will be communicated, corresponding to the dissemination requirements and environment. The stability and disruptions of constitutive elements of the forensic proof triangle will be observed with the aim to theoretically investigate and apply the proposed method, supported by the proving procedure analysis and practice of issuance of an expert opinion. The paper will consider contemporary spatial (architectural and urban) designs and analyses that have contested security aspects, with the support of digital technologies and instruments as means of spatial data acquisition, analysis, processing, and proving

Various ecologically oriented urban concepts and strategies have emerged in academic discourse in the last decades to address three key developmental challenges: enhancing urban quality of life, reducing ecological footprints, and adapting to climate change. This paper aims to determine the advantages of implementing Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) in open spaces (OS), particularly in inherited multi-family housing areas. According to their nature and urban-morphological features, OS are identified as crucial for applying NbS in the urban regeneration or planning process. Their design should simultaneously meet functional, ecological, socio-cultural and aesthetic requirements that are aligned with the existing characteristics of the specific site. Copenhagen was selected as a research platform due to its successful implementation of NbS in various urban situations

Urban Regeneration through Cultural–Tourism Entrepreneurship Based on Albergo Diffuso Development: The Venac Historic Core in Sombor, Serbia

    No full text
The inner core of Sombor, known as “Venac”, is probably the best‑preserved one among medium‑sized cities in Serbia. The stagnation of Sombor during the 20th century and its urban shrinkage in the 21st century have prevented significant transformations of the core, enabling its preservation under state protection as an urban heritage site. However, the recent rise of cultural tourism has triggered urban regeneration. As the city is still unprepared for this change, this regeneration has mostly omitted the inner core. Realising this, local representatives and experts have started rethinking innovative approaches to its regeneration, including the concept of Albergo Diffuso. This sustainable concept is created to revive the historic cores of small, shrinking cities and towns. Basically, it represents a hotel situated in several old buildings dispersed throughout a historic urban fabric, fitting perfectly into the regeneration of Venac. However, the current lack of precise spatial indicators and thresholds makes their incorporation into the planning process challenging. Considering this, this study focuses on the current spatial development of tourism in Venac, analysing the elements that would support and facilitate the application of this concept in the future. This article also proposes a set of new planning measures to support a strategically organised approach—from the emphasis on urban reuse and physical renewal to multileveled linking of basic concept conditions to the prioritization of pedestrian‑friendly places and the application of innovative urban design in open public spaces. By connecting the selected Albergo Diffuso approach with spatial development and its analysis, this study also contributes to the spatial imprint of the concept’s implementation

Practicing Dialectical Materialism: The Balkan House and Architecture in Socialist Yugoslavia

    No full text
This article examines relationships between architecture and ideology in socialist Yugoslavia by exploring the cultural interpretation and appropriation of the Balkan house in achieving modern, specifically Yugoslav architectural expression. Through the contextualization of the period’s different narratives on the Ottoman vernacular and various architectural designs related to it, the aim is to demonstrate how Yugoslav architects relied on Marxism to appropriate vernacular architecture into the modernist discourses. Dialectical materialism was used as a key for the interpretation of the opposition between what was seen as the negative and positive elements of the Balkan house, which challenged banal polarization between the traditional and modern and led to a more nuanced understanding of backwardness and progress in vernacular architecture. The idea of architectural metamorphoses of vernacular to modern forms was justified by evolution and revolution, the basic concepts of the Marxist understanding of processes in society and culture. The Yugoslav interest in the Balkan house represented a living, perceivable example of how the relationships between tradition and modernity, the past and the present, as well as men and their environment, became incorporated into new architecture of ‘socialism with a humane face’, which stood at the heart of Yugoslav social and political experiment

Protection and Presentation of Cultural Landscape in the Case of Maglič Town

    Get PDF
Medieval town of Maglič is located in the Republic of Serbia, on the right bank of the Ibar River, about 25km southwest of Kraljevo, on a narrow plateau of a rocky ridge which dominates the entire environment. According to historical sources, the town was built in the 14th century. A significant number of detected buildings which have largely been preserved testify on intensive building activities. The purpose of the work is to indicate, through the critical analysis and evaluation, the advantages and disadvantages of certain methods of protection and presentation of the remains, the integration of the old – new, but also to identify the elements which should be incorporated into the future attitude towards protection and presentation of medieval fortified towns in order to change and improve certain methods. New methods have to follow more consistently recent international charters and recommendations, and should be based on contemporary trends in protection, revitalization and presentation, which is particularly reflected in more liberal application of new materials and new constructive structures in protection and reconstruction, application of modern technologies (3D animation) in the presentation of the sites and the like. The work will present pros and cons of various proposals for the reconstruction and revitalization of the medieval fortress of Maglič, which contains significant historical, cultural, natural and architectural values, which should be preserved and presented in an appropriate manner, as a unique cultural landscape. This research will be a significant contribution to the objective and critical analysis of the main modern methodological approaches and the achieved results in the sphere of protection, revitalization and presentation of the medieval fortress of Maglič, with the basic idea of preservation of the authenticity and integrity of the existing stone remains of the fortress, with accessibility and paths management which would allow safe movement of visitors. Future approaches to revitalization and presentation of Maglič and its surroundings have to be in accordance with the principles of revitalization, especially in the context of preserving the authenticity and integrity of the landscape, since a cultural landscape implies they are separate parts of the scenery highlighted as areas of specific interaction of man and nature, of which Maglič is also part. By the revitalization of the fortress, the town would acquire a symbol of recognition and unique area which would become the backbone of development of cultural tourism of the whole Republic of Serbia

Toward the Ideas of the New European Bauhaus: The Application of the Digital Tools in the University Curricula

    Get PDF
The education process in architecture and its allied disciplines represents the foundation for the future design of the built environment. However, in spite of the continuous upgrading of knowledge and experiences, it is often visible that there is a certain lack of awareness regarding the shifting focus of design pedagogy, especially in the university environment. Consequently, the new insights have become a necessity, promoting critical thinking and inquiry, creativity and innovation, research and investigation. Simultaneously, collaboration, civic engagement and technical competences have become highly valued and promoted as the preferable qualities of contemporary design-related pedagogy. The project-oriented approach, applied during the master course Sustainable City conducted at the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Architecture, represents one of the examples of the preferred improvements, adjusted to the recently promoted concept of the New European Bauhaus Paper. The curriculum supports students` work, while the final outcome represents the so-called Civil Initiative Project Proposal, targeting different, up-to-date competitions and publicly announced calls. Due to the technological upgrading which allows the use of the online teaching tools, the end results are uploaded into the Teams platform, creating the Civil Initiative Project Proposal Catalog. This specific database provides the possibility for the active involvement in the planning practice, gathering the ideas, knowledge and experiences which might be used in different situations, solving the problems of urban communities

    No full text
