Towards a Methodology for Rethinking Modernity: Between Imagined, Realized, and Lived Space
The subject of this paper is twofold (1) towards review and
revision of extra-curricular learning model in the form of a
student workshop as an extended environment and a reflective
arena, and (2) towards generating workshop content aimed
at examining modernity in contemporary conditions of urban
transformation. The paper is structured in three parts. The
first part introduces the concept of an architectural workshop
with a discussion of general methodological perspectives that
shape this approach that takes place through three continuous
stages during which students develop the process of analytical
thinking, architectural programming and architectural design.
The second part of the paper contextually and conceptually
position the content of the workshop aimed at examining modernity
in contemporary conditions of urban transformation
between imagined, realized, and lived space. The third section
introduces the content of two student workshops as an illustrative
example of the implementation of methodology with
specified assignments and substance.
LKV nosači sa paralelnim pojasnim štapovima i njihova primena
The paper presents wooden trusses with parallel chords designed in the System
of lightweight roof girders - LKV system, and their application in the construction of
buildings. The basic static systems of these girders, their characteristics, as well as
numerous examples of constructed wooden structures are presented. In the structure of
the wooden constructions, these girders can play the role of bearing elements for receiving
gravity loading, as well as the role of lateral bracing frame.U radu su prikazani nosači sa paralelnim pojasnim štapovima projektovani u Sistemu LKV, i njihova primena u konstrukcijama objekata visokogradnje.

of this year’s congress, which saw presentations by some 400 participants from
56 countries spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, North America,

The congress in Belgrade was certainly an opportunity to briefly remind ourselves
of the history of the Congresses of Aesthetics, the International Association for
Aesthetics, as well as the character, status, and role of contemporary aesthetics
in an open international context..
Aesthetic Ideas in the Critique of the Power of Judgement
In his Critique of the Power Judgement, Kant defines an aesthetic idea as “that representation of the imagination that occasions much thinking though without it being possible for any determinate thought, i.e., concept, to be adequate to it, which, consequently, no language fully attains or can make intelligible,” concurrently claiming that all beauty is in its expression. However, in architecture, the expression of aesthetic ideas is limited by the primacy of the appropriateness of the object for its use (its voluntary end). In this paper we will discuss how this limitation affects aesthetic ideas and whether it gives us reason for aesthetic ideas in architecture to have specific status. We take into consideration its dual representational function, because in addition to representing aesthetic purposiveness, as other works of art do, works of architecture should also represent the kind of intended structure). (1) We will address this issue by concentrating on the question of which relation stands between the voluntary end of an architectural work and the relevant aesthetic idea (and if, as Paul Guyer claims, the beauty of an architectural work could be understood as the harmonious play of its function with its form). (2) The second question we present regards the role of content of aesthetic idea in architecture and which specific content (again referring to Guyer’s claim that adherent beauty could be understood as harmonious play of content with its form). (3) In the final part of the paper, we discuss how a representation of the function of an architectural work could be compatible with aesthetic freedom and how the aesthetic idea could be bound to the architectural concept
In addition to ecological value, the importance of nature is also reflected in the positive impact on human health. The connection that people make with nature has been defined by Edward Wilson as biophilia, a genetically based human need and a tendency to connect with nature. Technological development and changes in people's way of life have caused a decrease in people’s need for the natural environment. The phenomenon of adaptation and acceptance of the environment in which the degree of nature is constantly decreasing is defined by Peter Kahn as environmental generational amnesia. Using different technologies, through the design that creates an illusion of nature, an alternative is created for staying in a natural environment. This design, which can be applied to design and planning but also to other areas, implies simulation of natural elements and processes and the presentation of nature through virtual reality, and the like.
Bearing in mind that nature positively influences the health of people, whether it is real or digital, the question is raised whether digital nature justifies the compensation of real nature and whether that compensation is possible. The paper examines the relations of nature, digital nature, and humans through the following research questions: whether the connection of a human with digital nature can have a negative effect and can it separate a person from his innate needs and characteristics, can interaction with digital nature provide people with the same psychological experience and benefits as real nature and whether nature has its negative aspects
Saradnici:

TV8 Apartment Interior Design [ BAB 2019]
TV8 represents the renovation of a housing unit in the building dated from the early 20th century, located in Belgrade's old town. Endless overlapped areas of the home with different levels of privacy are the most striking impressions of the space. The backbone of the concept is the preservation of “Salon apartment” adapted in accordance with the modern way of life. The identity of the space is emphasized by inheritance, representing the values and architectural expression of the past era.photo credits: Relja Ivani
