Polyclinic dr Zejnilović, Bar, Montenegro, 2019 [BAB 2019][3. nagrada]

The concept derives from the idea that a health institution should be a place where we feel safe, clean and fresh, a place in which we regenerate and take care of our selves, not the place where we feel fear or concern. The ambience is thus conceived like a garden of plants, ligth fixtures and floating white cubes that contain all the necessary functions

From the Big Mac and Ikea society to the environmental aesthetics, smart cities and storytelling architecture

Our global society is encountering different challenges of the twenty first century. Our cities are in the process of constant transformation influenced by urbanisation, globalisation, advanced technologies, environmental and ecological changes, social, political and economic crises. While corporative capitalism has flourished, world population is growing and our cities are sprawling, architecture is reaching almost utopian visions and the boundaries of aesthetics are becoming more and more loose and permeable. Today are contemporary society lives and acts aesthetically. From art, architecture, music, religion, politics, communications, technological gadgets, homes, gardens, clothes, cuisine to sport and life couching, everything is a subject to aesthetical consideration. Aesthetical consideration of architecture and urbanism in a constantly changing world demands critical and interactive approaches, that will not only deal with theoretical aesthetic opinions, but also the practical ones. Accordingly, this paper seeks to discuss aesthetical problems of contemporary architecture and urban planning from global, environmental, technological and social points of view. Nature is no longer seen as a paradigmatic object of aesthetic experience, but as our unique collective environment upon which we humans depend. Therefore architecture emerges etic and aesthetic approaches in order to reconsider burden of our cities and possible ways of their future development

    Fluid state of architecture

    Get PDF
This paper focuses on the changes in architectural aesthetic criteria, from static to dynamic values of both figurative and non-figurative aspects in contemporary architecture and its cultural context. Fluid state of architecture refers to the notions of constant variability occurring in relations between architecture and contemporary cultural context of globalisation. Contemporary context dynamises everyday perceptual experiences, living conditions and terms of spatial appropriations. Accordingly, new networking phenomena appearing on informational, communicational and spatial levels transform the city and architecture into constant process of flows, dematerialising its elements into the new fluid, variable character. Architectural aesthetic qualities simultaneously shift trough events and effects affirmation over static formal whole in transformation from objective to (inter)subjective aesthetic spatial experience. This paper is based on hypothesis that contemporary architecture is characterised by the loss of object singularity in terms of contextual conditions and assimilation of particular characters into the dynamic character of the whole. Therefore, architectural design principles shift through dispersion of disciplinary boundaries and boundaries of inner and outer architectural space, hybridity and typological definition loss. This paper presents how dematerialisation of architectural values transforms contemporary architectural space into the complex dynamic system of infrastructure, flows, events and effects

Konkurs poslovno-ugostiteljskog objekta i pešačko-infrastrukturnog mosta preko kanala DTD [druga nagrada]

    No full text
Operacionalizujući logiku tradicionalnog primorskog graditeljstva, studija ispituje mogućnosti i potencijale za definisanje (uspostavljanje) integralne projektantske uloge u zaštiti dragocenog arhitektonsko-urbanističkog nasleđa kroz savremeno disciplinarno i praktično delovanje. [ENG] This study focuses on the polemical outline of spatial and architectural inconsistencies of the recent architectural production in the context of Montenegrin coast. Therefore, this study investigates the possibilities for new typological framework, which would incorporate evolutive capacity of inherited, historically affirmed spatial syntaxes as an apparatus for addressing the elusive conditions of contemporary society in the context of economical and professional transition. The logic of traditional Mediterranean craftsmanship is operationalized through the contemporary disciplinary practical method and design process as a potential for defining a new integral role of architecture in preserving valuable architectural and urban heritage. This study also opens a debate of how to intervene in the context of inherited, natural and built ambients; what are the possible correctives and trajectories of future development? What are the models of professional conduct and conditions for protection that enable adequate economical growth, without jeopardizing the tradition and character of inherited landscape

Defining the methodology of integrated research in the process of digital documentation of architectural heritage: case study Lizori, Italy

    Get PDF
The aim of this paper is to define the methodology of integrated research in the process of digital documentation of architectural heritage. The thematic framework of this work was stimulated by participation in a professional workshop in Lizori, Italy, held in June 2018. The paper presents a result based on the integration of traditional and instrumental methods of heritage surveying. This specific method of integrated research uses a variety of tools, in the process of morphological specifications of different parts of a historic building. The specific nature of architectural heritage requires the integration of different methods in order to achieve a high level of accuracy. The Lizori digitisation project, on the one hand, aims to present an almost unknown historical heritage through multimedia valorisation, and on the other, to set up an information tool for restoration, maintenance and valorisation

SAJ : Serbian architectural journal [Aleksandar Deroko]

    No full text
Aleksandar Deroko (1894-1988) is universally known in Serbia, but is nevertheless not often studied at either undergraduate or post-graduate level. While knowledge of Deroko and his work are essential for the historiography of the discipline, he is not often cited, and his work is not usually part of ongoing conversations about the current state of architectural history. Deroko’s work is so encyclopaedic that every art and architectural historian can no doubt find a link between his or her own work and something Deroko wrote. However, although he exemplifies twentieth-century development of the discipline in Serbia in a way that few other architectural historians do, both twentieth-century literature and more recent scholarship on Serbian architectural history show little interest in the principal concerns that drove Deroko’s work, whether theoretical or practical

Konkurs za izradu idejnog urbanističko-arhitektonskog rješenja centralne pješačke zone u Banjoj Luci [2019] [druga jednakovredna nagrada]

    No full text
