Scale Jumping: Regenerative Systems Thinking within the Built Environment. A guidebook for regenerative implementation: Interactions, tools, platforms, metrics, practice
No full textCOST Action RESTORE Working Group 5 has focused its work on investigating Scale Jumping Potentials and Strategies, Regenerative Systems Thinking and Implementation within the Built Environment. This book presents the final results and concludes the work of RESTORE Working Group 5 which has further developed the research and strategies defined throughout the previous four working groups. The concepts that RESTORE established and developed are deepened in this publication, and are interconnected and placed within the context of systems thinking and scale jumping approaches, working towards the regenerative future of our built environment.
In this book, scale jumping potentials and strategies will be addressed, recognizing the imperative need for regenerative systems thinking built into a multidisciplinary approach, in order to achieve balanced and regenerative growth of our built environment. The application of systems thinking to the built environment will be addressed in the first part of the book that presents studies on interactions within the human-nature-built environment triangular matrix. Within this nexus, regenerative scale jumping concepts will be presented through patterns of triangular interactions, but also some more specific insights into human-built and nature-built environments.
The second part of this book will focus on the implementation of the scale jumping regenerative
strategies for the built environment through tools, platforms, metrics and practice. Scale Jumping will be addressed through the following approaches: Digital Tools to Support District Regenerative Design and Scale Jumping; Smart Technologies in the Context of Regenerative Design; Emerging Technologies; Design Frameworks to Scale Up within Area Regenerative Practices and EU Policy Documents for Green Transition.
This Guidelines for Regenerative Implementation therefore offers analysis and solutions that should be of interest to both practitioners and academics who wish to explore scale-jumping strategies and potentials for the implementation of regenerative sustainability at neighbourhood and city scales and throughout society

• In the moment when the paradigm of nomadic lifestyles occupies such a degree of residential architecture theory and practice, suggesting another rethinking and reform of domesticity and domestic life in general, the private, single-family house, counterbalancing the implied loss of certain living stability or standards, returns as a reminder of its position and the social status it provides. Even though the presented house reconstruction and adaptation haven’t been realised, and the moment of its critical analysis measures a decade from the design commission, the experimental and didactic value it has acquired and displayed during the methodological revisions justifies one more critical look at its solution in the light of the mentioned problematics.

• Design conveys conversation between the ‘historical’ and the ‘contemporary’ making the latter acceptable, subtle and non-invasive regarding the inherited structural and living patterns, while the contemporary approach to reconstruction and urban situation (the higher degree of freedom concerning the mentioned temporal dialogue) characterises the architectural position promoted by the architect.

• At the centre of the design proposal are the requirements of the new owner of the house and all the family members with their specific and diverse interests and activities, the contemporary way of urban life, changing housing paradigms, and design decisions that reside in the specific deployment of the environmental properties. The owner’s programmatic definitions have put to the forefront several living areas with different themes and the possibility of various arrangements for family members - individual and shared, isolated/enclosed and open/free-flowing regimes for spatial activities - covering all generations, with an emphasis on the large private library (the owner’s book collection) and the studio for work, research, and reading. These elements have been specifically analysed and inscribed within the designed architectural space, creating a unique experience and atmosphere for each daily life scenario, whose integrative and central part the luminous space of the studio-gallery has become.

• The specific treatment of environmental properties (e.g. natural light dynamics), mediated and controlled through the form of the house in a manner which produces the well calculated quality of scenery and ambience in interior spaces, while also guiding the house’s programmatic scheme and daily schedule, makes another important asset and research subject of the presented design.Architect-Author: Dragana Ćirić; commissioned by Architect Vera Ćirić, Studio "V

No full textCelinu resenja koncepcijski drzi ideja о jasnoj fizionomiji savremenog bloka. Jednostavnost i ritmicnost elemenata kojima је urbana struktura definisana doprinose celovitosti kadra. U njegovom sredistu nalazi se objekat koji је rekonstruisan u skladu sa najsavremenijim principima za konverziju i revitalizaciju, dodatno koncepcijski podrzani oblikovanjem javnog prostora u sredistu bloka. Preporuka zavoda za zaštitu spomenika proširena је dogradnjom i estetizacijom industrijskog zdanja koje ovakvim postupkom biva podignuto na nivo prostorno-programske ekskluzivnosti. Ovakvi primeri svoje uporište imaju u sredinama u kojima је industrijalizacija većeg obima odredila fizionomiju urbane strukture, a kod nas su tek u povoju. U skladu sa ambijentom Dorćola i postojećom infrastrukturom u okruzenju predmetne lokacije, koncept objedinjuje i odluka o reafirmaciji industrijske estetike u obimu koji omogućava savremeni stambeno- poslovni ambijent. U tom smislu konceptom је zadrzan ritam i estetika postojećih metalnih stubova industrijske hale tipa "šed'; ali kao deo opreme i obrade javnog prostora. Reminiscencija na vreme industrijalizacije pretvorena је u istorijski citat. Na liniji ovoga nalazi se i sveukupni karakter volumena poslovno-stambene strukture. Koncept materijalizacije javnog prostora dat је kao savremen u pogledu primenjenih materijala i elemenata urbane opreme i osvetljenja koje doprinosi intimnosti pjacete unutar bloka i identifikacije stanara sa njim. Koncept introvertnosti ponudjen је kao adekvatan uslovima okruzenja, ali i ideji о projektovanju prepoznatljivog ambijenta novog urbanog identiteta

No full textKao vizuelni identitet kreativnog dvojca (V.Kovač & D.Sovilj), sugestivnog naziva "Tenkić", grafičko rešenje transponuje sublimiranu stvaralačku snagu i spremnost za savladavanje nesvakidašnjih izazova u polju vizuelnih komunikacija i grafičkog dizajna. Rad je prikazan u okviru izložbe 13. Grifon 2021, koja se tradicionalno održava u beogradskoj galeriji "Grafički kolektiv", pružajući uvid u najbolji grafički dizajn u Srbiji, Republici Srpskoj i Crnoj Gori. Iako izložba ima bijenalni karakter, zbog pandemije korona virusa, ova postavka je objedinila trogodišnji ciklus (2018, 2019, 2020)

Ideja da se nešto konkretno učini, došla je posle ovog Covid leta, koje je većina naših ljudi zbog korona virusa provela u Srbiji i onoga što je nemarom iza njih ostalo u prirodi,nakon što su posle odmora otišli svojim kućama.
Ceo rad je simbolično izveden na Svetski dan reka, zvanični praznik UN, koji obuhvata raznolike akcije čišćenja rečnih korita i obnove staništa, obrazovne programe, kao i promociju ekologije
Exploring Regenerative Co-benefits of Biophilic Design for People and the Environment
No full textThere is an increasing awareness of the role that buildings, districts, and
neighborhoods play on health in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic that coincides
with pressing climate concerns. This has renewed attention to the benefits of nature
for both human and climate health. Buildings, cities, and regions are attempting to
align regenerative design principles with human health goals but often lack the tools
and knowledge to do so. This is partly rooted in a failure to understand how to apply
research and policy for different contexts as well as at different scales. It is also still
uncertain exactly what types of nature can lead to which types of benefit, and for
whom, despite long-standing research within the environmental psychology, sustainability,
and design fields. This chapter outlines key research paradigms that
influence the way we understand the benefits of nature, where biophilic design theory
sits in this field, and how it can be and has been applied at different scales
through two case studies at the building and city scale. This chapter ends with the
proposal of new directions for integrating biophilic design into regenerative design
and policy
Reconstruction and functional conversion of a family house into The Krajina Museum in Negotin
Get PDFМузеј Крајине у Неготину је основан 1934. године. Простор у којем се данас налази добија 1952. године када се пресељава у кућу трговца Душана Јотића која је саграђена крајем XIX и почетком XX века. Циљ рада је да прикаже пројектантски процес и избор решења за потребе реконструкције унутрашњег простора са аспекта наменске преоријентације простора из стамбеног у музеолошки. Аутори примењују методологију дескриптивног истраживања, јер им то омогућава да систематски и чињенично опишу и дефинишу специфичне особине наведеног објекта. Примењене архитектонске методе у решавању функције и естетике унутрашњег простора, као и грађевинске методе при реконструкцији комплетног објекта обухватиле су заштиту и обнову фасада и крова. Такође, примењене методе омогућиле су реализацију свих музеолошких захтева са одговарајућим техничким системима, испуњење естетско˗ликовних услова у вези са експозицијом сталне поставке, обликовање музејских помагала и визуелно представљање in continuo „музејске приче”. Богатство и вредност музејских предмета, посебно из археолошке збирке, укључили су део спољног простора у оквиру дворишта за организацију лапидаријума. Истовремено, пројектом је предложено архитектонско решење анекса, новог објекта у делу дворишта, који би у естетском и функционалном смислу био повезан са постојећим објектом. Резултат реконструкције, функционалне пренамене и доградње музеја Крајине је заштита и продужетак животног века значајног објекта, осавремењавање и допуњавање сталне поставке, као и добијање додатног простора за рад кустоса и организовање других активности у музејском простору. Обновљен и концепцијски реорганизован музеј Крајине би постао још значајнији културни и историјски центар значајан за грађане Неготина и читаве регије.The Krajina Museum in Negotin was founded in 1934. The museum space took on its present appearance in 1952 when it was relocated into the house of a well-known merchant Dušan Jotić built at the end of 19th century and in the early 20th century. The aim of the paper is to present the designing process and elaborate on the solutions acquired for the interior refurbishment from the perspective of the conversion of a residential house into a museum. Authors employ the descriptive research methodology which makes it possible to describe and define the specific features of the said building systematically and factually. Applied architectural methods for changing the function and the aesthetics of the interior, as well as construction methods for the reconstruction of the whole building, included the roof and façade refurbishment and protection. Moreover, the applied methods enabled compliance with all museum and technical requirements along with aesthetic and art requirements pertaining to the permanent exhibition, shaping of museum aids and in continuo visual presentation of the “museum story”. Richness and value of the museum items, particularly those in the archeological collection, required that part of the outside court be reorganized into lapidarium. At the same time, the design proposed architectural solution for the annex – a new facility in the outside court which would be, aesthetically and functionally, connected to the existing building. The outcome of the reconstruction, functional conversion and adding onto the building of the Krajina Museum has been multiple: the protection and conservation of this important building's life-cycle; modernization and completion of the permanent exhibition; acquiring additional space for curators, their work and organization of other events and activities in the museum. Restored and conceptually reorganized Krajina Museum has become even more significant cultural and historical centre for Negotin and the surrounding region
Brutalizam u različitim kontekstima Beograda
Get PDFIstraživanje razmatra uticaj konstruktivnog sklopa na arhitekturu brutalističkih objekata u Beogradu. Brutalizam je razmatran kao pokret u arhitekturi koji se vezuje, pre svega, za svojevrsan odnos prema sveokupnom fizičkom, društvenom i kulturnom okruženju koji arhitekta uspostavlja pri projektovanju objekata, pre nego za stilsku upotrebu elemenata u njegovoj materijalizaciji. Na osnovu istraživanja pojma brutalizma u arhitekturi ustanovljene su opšte karakteristike ovog pravca, koje su zatim korišćene za sagledavanje njihove zastupljenosti u primerima arhitekture Beograda, koja se u literaturi smatra brutalističkom. Zgrada urbanističkog zavoda Beograda i Geneks kula istraživani su kao reprezentativni primeri brutalističke arhitekture u različitim kontekstima Beograda - u tradicionalnoj strukturi Starog grada i u sasvim novom kontekstu modernističkog grada koji se razvija na Novom Beogradu. Iako su u okviru ovog istraživanja posmatrana samo navedena dva primera, na isti način se u narednim istraživanjima mogu da se posmatraju i drugi primeri radi sagladevanja celokupne brutalističke arhitekture Beograda, Srbije i regiona

No full textKnjiga Administrativni objekti – razvoj i osnovni principi projektovanja namenjena je, pre svega, studentima druge godine Osnovnih akademskih studija na Arhitektonskom fakultetu u Beogradu.
Prema nastavnom planu Arhitektonskog fakulteta u Beogradu, predviđeno je da se nastava iz ove materije odvija u četvrtom semestru Osnovnih i Integrisanih studija, u okviru studijske celine Organizacija prostora 2.
Predviđenih 2 ECTS u nastavnom planu četvrtog semestra definišu u najvećoj meri obim i strukturu knjige koja prati predavanja iz ove materije, a ograničeno vreme trajanja nastave uslovilo je i sažet tekst koji bi trebalo da bude usklađen sa potrebama i predznanjima studenata druge godine Arhitektonskog fakulteta.
Knjiga je podeljena u dve tematske celine. U prvom delu opisan je razvoj administrativnih objekata kroz vekove sa posebnim osvrtom na najznačajnije periode u razvoju arhitekture administrativnih objekata devetnaestog i dvadesetog veka. U drugom delu knjige predstavljena je savremena arhitektura administrativnih objekata sa osnovnom analizom tipoloških i prostornih karakteristika. U drugom delu nalaze se i daju i osnovne smernice i informacije neophodne za razumevanje procesa projektovanja administrativnih objekata. Ideja je da se ovaj deo knjige kombinuje i nadopunjuje sa postojećom literaturom na fakultetu, a posebno sa knjigom Osnovna saznanja i dimenzionalne preporuke za modularno projektovanje administrativnih zgrada, profesora Momčila Pavlovića, koja se detaljno bavi, između ostalog, dimenzionalnom analizom.
Zamišljeno je da se kroz interaktivnu nastavu na fakultetu sprovedu analize primera iz savremene arhitektonske prakse, kao i analize novih tendencija u projektovanju administrativnih objekata. Analitički deo je iz tog razloga u knjizi sveden na sažete komentare
