İngilizce öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerinin hazırlık sınıfındaki okuma ve yazma dersine ilişkin görüşleri
The study aimed to analyze ELT students’ reflections on reading and writing course at preparatory class. Case study design and convenient sampling technique were used. Fifteen ELT students participated in the focus group interviews voluntarily in which a semi-structured interview form was used. The data were analyzed using content analysis. The
students’ reflections were grouped into four themes as objectives and outcomes, content and materials, learning experiences and evaluation process. The findings of the study indicated that the outcomes of the instruction in preparatory class mostly met the students’ expectations, and the objectives of the course were reached. The majority of the
students declared that they were satisfied with the content and materials. The students expressed their satisfaction with the classroom atmosphere, learning experiences and evaluation process. The research findings were discussed in the light of the literature, and
recommendations were made for curriculum/syllabus designers, instructors and researchers
Critical thinking and education: A bibliometric mapping of the research literature (2005–2024)
This study seeks to offer a comprehensive overview of critical thinking
research in education, encompassing key authors, sources, countries, and
publications. Analyzing 6122 articles from the Web of Science database
published between 2005 and 2024, the study examined authors, sources,
countries, documents, and their interrelationships using bibliometric
analysis. It identified trends and central themes in critical thinking in
education, revealing prominent authors, sources, publications, and
countries. The data was used to visually represent connections between
authors, sources, and countries. The analysis indicated a consistent
increase in studies on critical thinking in education over the last two
decades, with a notable surge in 2023. Researchers were increasingly
focusing on the correlation between emerging technologies like artificial
intelligence and critical thinking. Moreover, publications exploring
technology-driven approaches such as online learning, flipped
classrooms, and digital storytelling received significant citation counts.
The analyses indicate that interest in the relationship between concepts
such as motivation and collaboration and critical thinking continues to
persist. Additionally, publications that applied theoretical concepts to
practical contexts received higher citation rates. Thinking Skills and
Creativity emerged as the leading journal in critical thinking in education,
with the United States being the predominant country in this field
Enflasyonist ortamda sürdürülebilir satın alma gücü: Türkiye’de kira fiyatları ve big mac endeksi
The inflationary attack, which started globally in the last half of 2021 towards the end of the
Covid-19 pandemic, emerged a much more sudden and sharp rise in Turkey with the effect of interest
rate policies and the exchange rate. With the decision of the TCMB to raise the policy rate to 50% in
March 2024, contractionary monetary and fiscal policies were adopted and the disinflationary process
officially started. As of today, there is an optimistic regression towards disinflation, but households’
purchasing power continues to decline due to insufficiently low inflation. In addition to inflationary
inertia, economic policymakers claim that rent increases, which account for 14.2 per cent of the inflation
basket, are hampering the disinflation process. The termination of the legal cap on rent increases (25
per cent), which had been in place for nearly two years, paved the way for CPI-based price increases
once again. However, prices suppressed due to rent increase restrictions are expected to put pressure on
inflation until they approach the market reality.
In this study, in order to address the inflationary pressure of rental prices and their sustainability against
purchasing power, 4 different series are considered and Fourier-based non-linear time series analysis is
performed. In the analysis, big mac index data, rent data per square metre advertised on sahibinden.
com sales platform, tufe-rent index and tufe data are considered. In order to test the sustainability of
purchasing power, the series obtained by dividing the minimum wage by the aforementioned data were
also analysed. For the period 2020:12-2024:12, the Omay (2015) fractional flexible Fourier test is used
to test whether series contain unit roots, while the Banerjee et al. (2017) Fourier ADL test is used for
cointegration. All series are non-stationary at level. In the long run, the big mac index moves together
with the data on rental prices per m2 and the tufe rent index. In addition, in the purchasing power
perspective of the minimum wage, none of the series are stationary and there is no convergence in the
wage-price spiral. It is concluded that rent prices exert inflationary pressure due to market intervention
and do not converge to the announced tufe and rent index values, but converge to sahibinden.com m2
rent prices and big mac index. In addition, there is a mismatch between minimum wage changes and
market price changes, which leads to significant erosion in purchasing power
Genç tüketici davranışı: Sürdürülebilir ürünlere yönelik tutumun satın alma niyeti üzerindeki etkisinde marka güveninin aracılık rolü
In recent years, consumers have increasingly
sought natural products to live more
sustainably and healthily. Businesses have
started to align their strategies with
sustainability by emphasising that they produce
natural products that are both beneficial for
health and environmentally sustainable. The
purpose of this study is to examine the effect
of attitudes towards sustainable products on
purchase intention by comparing the younger
generation to other generations within the
scope of demographic characteristics and to
investigate the mediating role of brand trust in
this relationship. In order to collect the
necessary data, 460 Turkish consumers were
surveyed. Hypotheses were tested viaIBM
SPSS Statistics 26 and IBM SPSS AMOS 23
softwares. It was found that young people's
attitudes towards sustainable products,
purchase intentions and brand trust levels were
higher than other age groups and brand trust
played a mediating role in the relationship
between attitudes towards sustainable products
and purchase intentions. It is thought that this
study will provide insight into the theoretical
approaches to consumer buying behaviour for
researchers and academics and provide
guidance for marketers in developing green
marketing strategies to achieve optimum
competitive advantage.Son yıllarda tüketiciler daha sürdürülebilir ve
sağlıklı yaşamak için giderek daha fazla doğal ürün
arayışına girmiştir. İşletmeler de hem sağlık için
faydalı hem de çevresel açıdan sürdürülebilir doğal
ürünler ürettiklerini vurgulayarak stratejilerini
sürdürülebilirlikle uyumlu hale getirmeye
başlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sürdürülebilir
ürünlere yönelik tutumların satın alma niyeti
üzerindeki etkisini demografik özellikler
kapsamında genç kuşak ile diğer kuşakları
karşılaştırarak incelemek ve bu ilişkide marka
güveninin aracılık rolünü araştırmaktır. Gerekli
verileri toplamak için 460 Türk tüketiciye anket
uygulanmıştır. Hipotezler IBM SPSS Statistics 26
ve IBM SPSS AMOS 23 yazılımları ile test
edilmiştir. Gençlerin sürdürülebilir ürünlere
yönelik tutumlarının, satın alma niyetlerinin ve
marka güveni düzeylerinin diğer yaş gruplarına
göre daha yüksek olduğu ve sürdürülebilir ürünlere
yönelik tutumlar ile satın alma niyetleri arasındaki
ilişkide marka güveninin aracı rol oynadığı tespit
edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın, araştırmacılar ve
akademisyenler için tüketici satın alma davranışına
ilişkin teorik yaklaşımlar hakkında fikir vereceği ve
pazarlamacılar için optimum rekabet avantajı elde
etmek için yeşil pazarlama stratejileri geliştirmede
yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir
Colleagues support and organizational learning ın the health sector: serial media analysis of perception of psychological safety and perceived career opportunity
Bu çalışmada sağlık sektöründe önemli olduğu düşünülen örgütsel öğrenmeyi etkileyen faktörlere odaklanılmıştır. Bu
araştırmanın amacı sağlık sektöründe, meslektaş desteğinin örgütsel öğrenmeye etkisinde psikolojik rahatlık algısı ve
algılanan kariyer fırsatının seri aracı rolünü belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Nevşehir ilinde faaliyet gösteren bir
hastanedeki sağlık çalışanları oluşturmaktadır. Sağlık sektöründe örgütsel öğrenmenin önemli olmasından dolayı ve
örgütsel öğrenme ile onu etkileyen faktörlerden meslektaş desteği, psikolojik rahatlık algısı ve algılanan kariyer fırsatı
değişkenlerine odaklanılarak hazırlanan anket formu çalışanlara online ve yüz yüze olarak dağıtılmıştır. Çalışanlardan
elde edilen veriler SPSS 27, AMOS 24 ve PROCESS MACRO istatistiksel programlar aracılığıyla test edilmiştir.
Analizler sonucunda meslektaş desteğinin örgütsel öğrenmeyi artırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca meslektaş desteği ve
örgütsel öğrenme arasındaki ilişkiye psikolojik rahatlık algısı ve algılanan kariyer fırsatının ayrı ayrı modellerde
aracılık ettikleri saptanmıştır. Bununla birlikte psikolojik rahatlık algısının ve algılanan kariyer fırsatının beraber
meslektaş desteği ve örgütsel öğrenme arasındaki ilişkiye seri aracılık yaptığı da tespit edilmiştir.This study focuses on the factors affecting organizational learning that are considered important in the health sector.
The aim of this research is to determine the serial mediator role of perception of psychological safety and perceived
career opportunity in the effect of colleague support on organizational learning in the health sector. The universe of
the research consists of healthcare workers in a hospital operating in Nevşehir province. Due to the importance of
organizational learning in the health sector and focusing on organizational learning and the factors affecting it such as
colleague support, perception of psychological safety and perceived career opportunity, a questionnaire form was
prepared and distributed to the employees online and face-to-face. The data obtained from the employees were tested
using SPSS 27, AMOS 24 and PROCESS MACRO statistical programs. As a result of the analyses, it was determined
that colleague support increased organizational learning. In addition, it was determined that perception of
psychological safety and perceived career opportunity mediated the relationship between colleague support and
organizational learning in separate models. In addition, it was determined that perception of psychological safety and
perceived career opportunity together serially mediated the relationship between colleague support and organizational
learning
Bibliometric Analysis of Customer Mistreatment Studies: The Case of Web of Science
Genellikle yönetim alanı ve hizmet sektörü açısından incelenen “müşteriden kötü muamele” kavramı, son yıllarda uluslararası literatürde araştırmacıların ilgi alanında bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, müşteriden kötü muamele ile ilgili araştırmaların bibliyometrik analiz yöntemiyle değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, konu ile ilgili çalışmalar Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanından toplanmış ve bu çalışmalar VOSviewer programı ile bibliyometrik analiz yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir.
WoS veri tabanındaki yapılan taramada konu ile ilgili 194 çalışma tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmaların 183 tanesinin yönetim alanında yapıldığı ve çalışmaların yazar sayısının ise 490 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yapılan ortak kelime analizi sonucunda müşteriden kötü
muamele kavramı ile ilişkili olan toplam 520 anahtar kelime listelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonunda, “müşteriden kötü muamele” anahtar kelimesinin hizmet sabotajı (service sabotage), duygusal tükenme (emotional exhaustion), müşteri hizmetleri (customer
services), duygusal emek (emotional labor), tükenmişlik (burnout), anahtar kelimeleri ile birlikte kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. En yüksek atıf alan çalışmanın, Koopman vd.’nin 2016 yılında Academy of Management Journal’da yayımladığı ve 437 atıf alan makale olduğu görülmüştür. En çok çalışma yayımlayan ülkelerin ise Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ve Çin olduğu belirlenmiştir
Accessibility in Urban Coastal Areas: Antalya-Konyaaltı Case
Coastal areas are privileged spaces within the city, possessing high potential due to the presence of water. Defining coasts as areas under public access where everyone can equally and freely benefit underscores the significance of the concepts of publicness and accessibility. Urban design practices in coastal areas aim to enhance public use and strengthen the coast-city relationship through accessibility approaches. This study identifies the factors that determine publicness and accessibility through a literature review and examines these factors in the context of the redesigned Konyaaltı urban coastal area. On-site observations and analyses were conducted to assess the current situation. The findings suggest that improving accessibility and publicness in coastal areas requires the development of urban and architectural approaches in the legal framework that extend beyond defined boundaries to include coastal interaction zones. Ensuring accessibility for everyone, particularly along coastlines, is among the significant findings derived from this study for the effective and universal use of coastal areas. Regulations based on publicness and accessibility will support the physical and social sustainability of the coast. Well-designed public spaces will positively impact the quality of life, enhance the coastal city's image, and contribute to the city's identity
“Tamçılık” (Duvar ustalığı) risalesi üzerine bir inceleme
Kaynak olarak gelenekten beslenen meslek grupları, kendi aralarında gayri resmî bir düzen geliştirmiş ve bu düzen çerçevesinde, kendilerine ait folklor ürünlerinin ortaya çıkmasına vesile olmuştur. Bu gayri resmî düzen içerisinde, mesleğin ilk icracısı olan kişi pir olarak kabul edilmiş olup genel itibariyle dinî bir hüviyete sahip olmalarından dolayı mesleğin kutsal temsilcileri olarak halk nazarında itibar görmüşlerdir. Bu gayri resmî düzen kapsamında meslek pirine duyulan saygı ve verilen değer, meslek ustalarının yapması ve yapmaması gereken davranışlar, yapılmaması gereken davranışlarda bulunanların alacağı cezalar, mesleğe dair kurallar, mesleğin icrasında okunması gereken ayetler/dualar meslek erbaplarına ve mesleğin yeni icracılarına aktarılmaktadır. Bu düzenin sözden yazıya aktarılmış şekli ise meslek risaleleridir. Bu meslek risalelerinden birisi de “Tamçılıķ” (Duvar Ustalığı) risalesidir. İnsanoğlunun barınma ihtiyacını karşılayan, dış etkenlere karşı koruyan ve düzeni temsil eden evlerin yapımı ve yapımında ön plana çıkan araç-gereçler, çalışmada Uygur Türklerinin halk mimarisi özelinde incelenmiştir. Ev ve çevresi, Uygur Türklerinin diğer Türk boylarına nazaran yerleşik hayata daha erken geçmelerinden dolayı önem arz etmiştir. Ev yapımı, maddi külfeti olan ve el emeği olmasından dolayı uzun sürede gerçekleşmesi nedeniyle insan hayatında önemli bir yer tutar. Bu önemine binaen Uygur Türkleri, evi yapan ustalara saygı göstermiş, temel atılırken, ev yapılırken, tamamlandıktan sonra çeşitli ritüeller ve törenler gerçekleştirmişlerdir. Bu ritüeller ve törenler, evin herhangi bir sıkıntı olmadan bitirilmesi, bereketli olması ve toplumsal dayanışmayı sağlaması gibi işlevlere sahiptir. Çalışmada, Uygur Türklerinin halk mimarisi açısından önemli bir yere sahip olan “Tamçılıķ” (duvar ustalığı); mesleğin edep, erkân, kural ve kaidelerine yer veren, birisi Çağatay Türkçesi ile kaleme alınmış, diğeri ise Uygur Türkçesine aktarılmış olan iki metin bağlamında mukayeseli olarak incelenmiştir. İncelemede, Çağatay Türkçesi ile kaleme alınan St. Petersburg metni A, Uygur Türkçesine aktarılan metin ise B olarak adlandırılmıştır. Mukayeseler sonucunda ise tamçılıķ (duvar ustalığı) mesleğinin piri olarak iki metinde farklı pirin belirtildiği, mesleğin ilk icrası üzerine aktarılan rivayetlerin farklılık teşkil ettiği, mesleğin önde gelen isimleri noktasında ise paralellik söz konusu olduğu, iki metinde de mesleğin icrası sırasında okunması gereken ayetlere yer verildiği tespit edilmiştir.Occupational groups, fed by tradition as source, developed an unofficial order among them, and within the framework of this order, they conduced to emerge their own folkloric products. Within this unofficial order, the person, who was the first performer of the occupation, was recognized as a “sage/peer: pir”, and these persons got respect as the sacred representatives of the occupation, in the eyes of folk, due to the fact that they had a religious identity, in general. Respect shown and value given, towards occupational sage within the scope of this unofficial order; the dos and don’ts for behaviours of occupational masters; penalties that those, who acted behaviours which should not be done, would get; code of practice/conducts; and verses/prays which should be said/read during performance of the occupation; are transfered to occupational experts and new performers of the occupation. Occupational epistles (pamphlets) are the form by which this order is transferred from oral (saying) to writing. “Tamçılıķ” (Masonry) is one of these occupational epistles. In this study, we examined building (construction) of houses which meet need for shelter, protect against outer factors and represent the order, and tools&materials which come into prominence in their building, in specific to Uyghur Turks’ folk architecture. House and its environment were of importance due to Uyghur Turks had adopted (led) a sedentary life earlier than other Turkic tribes. Home building (construction) has an important place in human life due to it (home) occurs in a long time because of having financial expense and hand labour. Based on this importance, Uyghur Turks showed respect to masters who built house, and they carried out various rituals and ceremonies while laying foundation, building house and after completing the house. These rituals and ceremonies have functions such as completing the house without any difficulty, being fertile and providing solidarity etc. In the study, we examined comparatively “Tamçılıķ” (masonry), which has an important place in terms of Uyghur Turks’ folk architecture, in the context of two texts (transcripts), which includes manners, methods, rules and principles (regulations), whereas the one was written in Chagatai language, the other was transfered (quoted) into Uyghur Turkish. In the review (examination), the Saint Petersburg text (transcript), written in Chagatai language, was named as A; the text, transfered into Uyghur Turkish, as B. As a result of comparisons, we determined that; as sage of masonry occupation, different sages were stated in the two texts; accounts which were narrated upon the first performance of the occupation constituted differences; there was a parallelism at the point of the leading names (figures) of the occupation; and verses, which should be said (read) during performance of the occupation, were included in both texts, as well
The Power Of Corporate Governance In Call Center: The Role Of Workplace Happiness And Employee Voice In Thriving At Work
The purpose of this
study is to examine the mediating role of
workplace happiness and the moderating role of
employee voice in the effect of employees'
perceptions of corporate governance working as
customer communication consultants on thriving
at work. For this purpose, corporate governance,
thriving at work, workplace happiness, and
employee voice scales were used in the study.
The population of the study consists of 874
employees working in two different institutions
operating as call centers in Türkiye. The data of
the study was obtained from 449 employees (205
male, 244 female) who participated in the
survey. AMOS 24 application was used to verify
the factors of the scales in the study. SPSS 27
was used in the analysis of the variables and the
mediation and moderation role of the research
was evaluated with SPSS PROCESS MACRO
model 14. According to the results of the
research, it was determined that workplace
happiness had a mediating role in the effect of
corporate governance perception on thriving at
work, and employee voice had a moderating role
in the indirect effect of corporate governance
(through workplace happiness) thriving at work.
Therefore, increasing corporate governance and
supporting employee happiness can create an
environment where employees can thrive at
work, and employee voice plays an important
role in this process
