Reinterpreting the Ngembah Manuk Mbur Tradition as a Foundation for Child-Friendly Education in the Context of Karo Community
Attention given to children from the womb plays a vital role in supporting their physical and character development. The Karo tribe has a seven-month pregnancy tradition called ngembah manuk mbur, which aims to provide care and attention to pregnant mothers and their unborn children. However, this tradition remains limited in terms of fulfilling the rights of unborn children. Therefore, this study aims to reinterpret such tradition in the light of a biblical-theological context and within the framework of a Child-Friendly Church that it can serve as a foundation for child-friendly Christian education in the context of Karo community. The study employs a qualitative method with a literature review to explore the concept of the ngembah manuk mbur tradition and the concept of a Child-Friendly Church. These concepts serve as analytical tools to examine the implementation of such tradition. The findings indicate that reconstructing the tradition based on biblical-pedagogical principles and within the framework of a Child-Friendly Church can transform it into a foundation for child-friendly education within the Karo community. Traditionally, ngembah manuk mbur is conducted to strengthen pregnant mothers and is only performed for first-born children. This study proposes three key reconstructions of the tradition: it should be performed for all children, it should be carried out throughout the mother\u27s pregnancy, and it should serve as a way for all family members to welcome the child into the family
DAMAI Model as a Prototype of Religious Moderation
The first principle of Pancasila states that Indonesia as a nation that believes in God Almighty. Although Indonesia is officially secular, it is a diverse nation in terms of culture and religion. This diversity presents the possibility of disputes arising from religious matters in different areas. This article emphasizes how elements like the politicization of religion, exclusivism, and identity politics may lead to religious insecurity. The use of the DAMAI paradigm (Dialogue, Adaptation, Mediation, Accommodation, Integration) to build religious moderation in the context of Christian theological education in Papua is also covered in this article. Descriptive qualitative research methodology is employed in this study. Forty participants—representing staff, instructors, and students—were interviewed, and observations were made in order to gather data. The study’s findings demonstrate the high degree of DAMAI model application at Sentani State Protestant Christian College (STAKPN Sentani), with scores ranging from 80% to 99% for indicators including Communication, Justice, Love, Security, and Innovation. The DAMAI paradigm is presented in this article to foster inclusive and peaceful religious moderation in Papua while shedding light on the challenges related to religious moderation in Christian theological education settings
Kompetensi Sosial Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen Dalam Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila
Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran penting kompetensi sosial guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) dalam penguatan profil Pelajar Pancasila, yang bertujuan membentuk karakter pelajar sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Guru PAK memiliki tanggung jawab untuk membantu siswa menginternalisasi nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui kegiatan yang mengembangkan kompetensi sosial seperti interaksi, toleransi, dan penghargaan terhadap perbedaan. Kompetensi ini melibatkan kemampuan untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan mendukung, serta menjadi teladan dalam penerapan nilai-nilai Kristen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi pustaka kualitatif, menganalisis literatur terkait untuk memahami peran guru dalam konteks pendidikan Kristen. Fokus utama adalah pada bagaimana guru PAK dapat memfasilitasi pemahaman siswa tentang nilai-nilai Pancasila melalui berbagai strategi pendidikan, termasuk integrasi nilai-nilai tersebut dalam kurikulum, penggunaan teknologi informasi, serta kegiatan ekstrakurikuler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi sosial guru PAK sangat vital dalam membimbing siswa untuk memahami dan mengamalkan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Guru dengan kompetensi sosial yang kuat dapat membentuk siswa yang berkarakter, toleran, dan beretika. Penguatan profil Pelajar Pancasila melalui pendekatan holistik yang melibatkan integrasi nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam pembelajaran, penggunaan teknologi, serta kolaborasi antara sekolah, orang tua, dan komunitas diakui sebagai strategi yang efektif. Penilaian komprehensif terhadap profil Pelajar Pancasila diperlukan untuk mengukur efektivitas strategi ini, dengan tujuan menciptakan generasi muda Indonesia yang berkarakter dan berkontribusi positif bagi masyarakat dan negara
Pedagogical Competence of Christian Teachers as Facilitators in the Process of Developing 21st Century Thinking Skills
In the 21st century, national education required to reformulate its learning system to optimally meet the demands of students\u27 thinking skills. However, assessments of Indonesian students\u27 abilities in mathematics, science, literacy, and numeracy remained relatively low. To address this gap, students required teachers with strong pedagogical competence to help them improve their 21st-century thinking skills. This research aimed to examine the role of Christian teachers as facilitators in developing such skills. Their pedagogical responsibilities included guiding students toward learning that met student’s thinking needs, implementing problem-based learning, integrating technology in line with Christian values, and providing constructive feedback on students\u27 thinking development. Christian teachers also needed to recognize sin as a human reality and understand the restoration of human\u27s relationship with God through redemption, ensuring that educational practices remained untainted by secular postmodern philosophies. The author suggested that problem-based learning methods be explored to help students cultivate the thinking skills essential for the 21st century
A Theological Review of the Practice of Abortion among Unmarried Women in India
In 2022, the Supreme Court of India has legalized abortion for all women, regardless of marital status. Consequently, all women in India are free to terminate their pregnancy without having to face a legal case. This decision is a breakthrough for new laws in India, including the issue of upholding women\u27s rights. Even so, the act of arbitrary abortion is contrary to morals and Bible teachings. This article aims to discuss the legalization of abortion carried out by the Indian government from a biblical theology perspective by using a literature review approach. The findings of this research indicate that legalizing abortion through legislation is contrary to the biblical principle of the right to life. The government must guard abortion cases not only from political and socio-economic roles but also from religious beliefs and provide good sex education and a healthy environment for its people to suppress unwanted abortions. The role of parents in educating children and the role of the church in maturing the faith of the younger generation can prevent free sex and unsafe abortion in India. Spiritual formation at the Saumlaki Class III Penitentiary, which is carried out through worship and other spiritual activities, is a form of application of Christian Religious Education to correctional inmates in increasing the spirituality of correctional inmates while they are serving a criminal term while in prison or when they have been released and living side by side. with the local community; therefore, this article discusses spiritual formation for correctional inmates by looking at the process and results of spiritual formation for inmates. This research was conducted at the Class III Saumlaki Correctional Institution. This research aims to explain the extent of the spiritual formation process and results for correctional inmates. The results of this research show that after the inmates undergo spiritual formation, the correctional inmates experience spiritual formation, which enables them to realize their mistakes, not repeat mistakes, accept themselves, and have a high motivation for life

Artikel ini membahas Kompetensi pedagogik guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen memiliki peran krusial dalam memperkuat profil Pancasila pada siswa. Guru yang memiliki kompetensi pedagogik yang baik tidak hanya memahami nilai-nilai Pancasila secara mendalam, tetapi juga mampu menyampaikan nilai-nilai tersebut kepada siswa dengan cara yang menarik dan relevan. Dengan kompetensi ini, guru dapat membantu siswa untuk menginternalisasi dan menerapkan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, membentuk karakter mereka sesuai dengan prinsip-prinsip Pancasila.Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen memiliki tanggung jawab khusus untuk mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip Pancasila dalam pembelajaran agama, karena nilai-nilai Pancasila seperti ketuhanan, kemanusiaan, persatuan, demokrasi, dan keadilan sosial sejalan dengan ajaran agama Kristen. Orientasi Seksual Kaum LGBT Dalam Lensa Dogmatik-Etik: Upaya Meningkatkan Kualitas Manusia Kristen
Isu mengenai Orientasi Seksual yang ramai diperdebatkan saat ini, sering dikaitkan dengan perilaku seksual yang dipraktikkan oleh Kaum LGBT. Identitas dan praktik seksual kaum LGBT dianggap bertentangan dengan norma moral, sosial dan agama. Namun kaum LGBT beranggapan bahwa perilaku seksual tersebut adalah sesuatu yang wajar dan normal serta menjadi ciri pembentuk identitas kaumnya. Tulisan ini hendak menganalisis apa yang dimaksud dengan Orientasi Seksual yang dimaksud oleh kaum LGBT tersebut dalam lensa Dogmatik-Etik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan melakukan pengumpulan dan analisis data dari literatur online. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa apa yang dimaksud dengan Orientasi Seksual menurut kaum LGBT dalam kajian Dogmatik-Etik sesungguhnya adalah Disorientasi Seksual (Penyimpangan Perilaku Seksual) yang dilarang oleh Tuhan Allah dan bertentangan dengan ajaran Alkitab. Natur dosa manusia (sinful nature) menjadi penyebab utama perilaku penyimpangan seks. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengantispasi perilaku LGBT adalah membentuk identitas diri anak dengan benar, memberikan pendidikan seks yang sehat pada anak, menerapkan pendidikan Kristen yang benar pada anak, memberi dukungan sosial-psikologis-spiritual kepada orang yang terpapar LGBT
Menggali Pontensi Gernerasi Z Sebagai Agen Perubahan Di Masyarakat Multikultural
Generasi Z adalah generasi yang tumbuh di era teknologi digital dengan kesadaran sosial yang tinggi. Mereka aktif menggunakan media sosial untuk berkomunikasi, berbagi cerita, dan membangun komunitas. Selain terampil dalam teknologi, generasi ini menghargai keberagaman, mempromosikan inklusivitas, dan menunjukkan potensi besar sebagai agen perubahan di masyarakat multikultural. Tujuan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali potensi Generasi Z sebagai agen perubahan dalam masyarakat multikultura. Rumusan masalah apa potensi Generasi Z sebagai agen perubahan dalam masyarakat multikultural? Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Generasi Z memiliki potensi besar dalam menginisiasi perubahan sosial melalui pemanfaatan teknologi digital untuk kampanye kesadaran, aksi kolektif, dan advokasi. Keterbukaan mereka terhadap pluralisme juga menjadi kekuatan untuk meredakan konflik antarkelompok dan menciptakan dialog yang produktif. Namun, tantangan seperti kurangnya pemahaman mendalam tentang nilai-nilai pluralisme dan minimnya dukungan pendidikan kontekstual menjadi hambatan yang perlu diatasi
