PERAMAH: Religious Moderation Educator Model for Early Childhood Based on Mark 10:13-16

Indonesia is a country rich in ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity. One of its key challenges is fostering harmony among people of different faiths. In this context, religious moderation education for early childhood becomes critically important to prevent radicalization and to nurture a spirit of tolerance. This research aims to explore how the example of Jesus in Mark 10:13–16 can serve as a model for religious moderation educators in early childhood. The study uses biblical exegesis to interpret the meaning of the scripture, as well as interviews and literature reviews to gather information from various relevant sources. The discussion reveals that the values of love, acceptance, and appreciation of differences as taught by Jesus can be effectively applied in early childhood education. This research successfully identifies the model of a Religious Moderation Educator for Early Childhood based on Mark 10:13–16, known as PERAMAH - Penerimaan (Acceptance), Empati (Empathy), Ramah (Friendliness), Apresiasi (Appreciation), Mendengarkan (Listening), Akomodasi (Accommodation), and Harmonisasi (Harmonization). It is recommended that early childhood educators implement religious moderation education using the PERAMAH model to build a more harmonious Indonesia today and in the future

The Intentional Hospitality: A Christian Paradigm on Religious Moderation in Indonesia

This paper critically examines the use of ‘tolerance’ as one of the four indicators in the Indonesian government’s Religious Moderation policy. Since the familiarisation of this idea in 2019, some Christian scholars have widely echoed it, even trying to integrate it with the Bible and Christian values in the practical work of interfaith relations. For us, tolerance is still passive, and this is contrary to Christian teachings or the Bible, which demands that Christians constantly be proactive, including in terms of living together with \u27those who are different\u27. Through this article, we argue that the concept of ‘hospitality’ is a more active and fitting concept for promoting interreligious relations than the indicator appointed by the Indonesian government, ‘tolerance’. We also strongly emphasise that intentional hospitality can be a paradigm of living together in a more biblical and Christian interfaith relationship. In this work, we use a methodology that includes the following components: literature review, theoretical analysis, and critical reflection. By critically reviewing the work of theologians, Amos Yong and Marianne Moyaert, we constructively propose research findings in the five key characteristics of a hospitable interreligious connection: recognition, imagination, transformation, commitment, and intention. These characters, emphatically, demonstrate active involvement and sincere relationships with others, particularly individuals from other faiths

Law and Theological Interpretations of Sin and Punishment

This article explores the evolving concepts of sin and punishment through an interdisciplinary analysis rooted in theology and legal theory. It examines how theological traditions understand sin as a spiritual rupture and punishment as a path to restoration, while legal systems treat punishment as a rational mechanism to uphold justice and social order. The study traces the shifting boundaries between divine justice and secular law through historical and thematic analysis, revealing how moral responsibility, repentance, and mercy have been interpreted across various contexts—from ancient religious codes to Enlightenment jurisprudence. The article also analyzes contemporary ethical debates surrounding retributive and restorative punishment models. By integrating theological reflection with legal-historical insights, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of how societies conceptualize wrongdoing and justice and advocates for more holistic approaches to moral and legal accountability

Digital Culture and Its Impact on New Testament Interpretations and Religious Practices

Many aspects of life, including religious ideas and rituals, have been profoundly shaped by technology. It has affected how members of different faith communities interact and commune with God. These days, digital channels act as forums for conversations that could influence religious perspective. Here, the term "digital culture" describes technologically driven social interactions including social media, websites, and easy information access. This study is a quantitative study aimed at investigating the relationship between religious customs and the cultural changes brought about by digitization. Data was collected from 36 respondents by using a questionnaire. The results draw attention to the complicated relationship in modern culture between faith and technology. In Christian communities today, effective communication calls not just for sharing knowledge but also interacting with digital resources. Christians\u27 practice of their faith has evolved with the availability of online worship events and prayer meetings. The findings also underline the need of mutual support—both psychological and financial—through trying circumstances. Christians have additional means to study scriptures and participate in worship because to increasing digital resources

Implementation of the Role of Peacemakers in Bridging Differences in Beliefs: A Christian Educator\u27s Perspective

Indonesia is a nation significantly rich in cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity. While this diversity is a source of strength, it also presents challenges in fostering social harmony. This study examines the implementation of the peacemaker concept in bridging differences in beliefs, based on Jesus\u27 teachings in Matthew 5:9. Using a qualitative method with a literature review approach (library research), the research explores relevant websites, journals, and books to analyze the biblical meaning of "peacemakers" and how Christian educators can apply this principle in Indonesia’s religiously plural society. Findings indicate that being a peacemaker requires active engagement in fostering peace rather than merely living in passive harmony. Key implementation strategies include developing interfaith empathy, applying conflict mediation techniques rooted in Christian values, and adopting a collaborative approach to community service. This study concludes that Christian educators play a vital role as peacemakers, with a responsibility to bridge differences, facilitate interfaith dialogue, and promote tolerance and inclusivity within Indonesia’s diverse society

Jonathan Edwards: His Holistic Theological Education Legacy of Lights and Shadows

Jonathan Edwards was a colonial pastoral leader and theologian in the United States. Edwards is considered one of the greatest American theologians, excelling as a preacher; however, his importance as a theological educator has received little attention. This conceptual article examines the significance of his educational legacy for Christian educators in the twenty-first century. Edwards espoused holistic theological education with an emphasis on the heart and affections. At the same time, however, he supported slavery, contradicting his theological anthropology. As Christian educators, we would benefit from receiving his invitations, imitating his faith, and learn from his mistakes.

Kontekstualisasi Pelayanan Pemuda Di Era Digital
