Tanggapan Etis Kristen Terhadap Pengaruh Budaya Digital di Kalangan Mahasiswa
Digital culture seems to be well received in society because the benefits are unavoidable. This should be acknowledged, but this welcome should also be anticipated with a critical attitude because in contrast to its usefulness, digital technology also contributes to the emergence of negative influences and impacts on its users. This is also a concern for STT ATI students because digital culture has also permeated their life context. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of STT ATI students amid digital flow to see these problems. This study uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenological study. The results of this study are that: first, STT ATI students quite understand digital culture based on their experience; second, digital culture has an impact on them, both positively and negatively; third, ethically they have a fairly good response in dealing with digital challenges, but on the other hand there are also weaknesses in perceptions about the subject. In this regard, more intense training is needed so that they are ready to face the digital era with all its consequences
Case Study Of Mawe Tradition: The Theology Study Of Spirit Summoning Rituals In Buru Island, Maluku
Cultural traditions in Indonesia are very diverse, including the Mawe tradition on Buru Island, Maluku which is believed to be able to provide clues to uncover cases or problems that often occur. Uniquely, this tradition uses the spirits of deceased ancestors, which is a ritual led by traditional elders to provide clues that can explain a problem. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and analysis of supporting Bible verses. As a result, from the theological studies conducted, it is known that rituals of seances have also been carried out in the biblical tradition, but it is clear that this tradition is contrary to the Bible. The Christian theological view is very clear that believers are not justified under any circumstances to perform seances because it is a form of syncretism
Peran GKII di Kalimantan Barat dalam Pengentasan Kemiskinan Melalui Pendidikan
Studi ini menganalisis peran Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia (GKII) di Kalimantan Barat dalam pengentasan kemiskinan melalui pendidikan. Kemiskinan menjadi masalah serius yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia Kalimantan Barat, dan salah satu penyebabnya adalah kurangnya akses pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sejauh mana Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia Kalimantan Barat telah memainkan peran penting dalam mengatasi kemiskinan tersebut. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara dan observasi di Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia Wilayah Kalbar dua dan penelitian pustaka dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Studi ini menyoroti beberapa peran yang dapat dilakukan oleh Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia dalam pengentasan kemiskinan melalui pendidikan. Pertama, Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia dapat bekerja sama dengan lembaga pendidikan, baik dengan mendirikan sekolah sendiri atau menjalin kerja sama dengan sekolah setempat. Kedua, Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia dapat menyediakan beasiswa dan bantuan keuangan kepada siswa yang berbakat tetapi tidak mampu. Ketiga, Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia berperan dalam memberikan pengajaran moral dan nilai-nilai penting dalam pendidikan. Keempat, Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia dapat memberikan pelayanan konseling dan dukungan emosional kepada siswa yang menghadapi kesulitan dalam kehidupan mereka. Kelima, Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia dapat mengadakan program pelatihan keterampilan untuk membantu masyarakat dalam meningkatkan taraf hidup mereka. Keenam, Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia dapat bekerja sama dengan pemerintah, organisasi non-pemerintah, dan komunitas setempat dalam program-program pengentasan kemiskinan melalui pendidikan
Peran Gereja Dalam Akreditasi Perguruan Tinggi Teologi
The Christian Church must play a role in various aspects for the advancement of ministry and quality improvement both internally and externally to the church. The command of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 28:20 “Teach them to do everything that I teach you. And know that I am with you always, even to the end of the age.†This command became the basis for the church to achieve quality improvement. Churches and universities are two parts that cannot be separated in carrying out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. The Church must play a role in supporting Christian Education through the formation of the character of human resources in the church. Higher Education is a theological kitchen thar influences the quality of the church and the church becomes an educational agent whose role is to support the growth of quality tertiary institutions. The church’s role is to prepare a quality generation and support the efforts of universities in running the education system to achieve quality universities that are able to compete in various situations
Quo Vadis Lulusan Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Di Indonesia Era Merdeka Belajar: Perspektif Etis-Teologis
Era merdeka belajar  ditandai dengan perkembangan teknologi yang tinggi dan perubahan yang cepat di segala bidang, Kondisi ini membuat dunia kerja menjadi berdaya saing tinggi dan membutuhkan integrasi antar disiplin ilmu. Pemerintah Indonesia kemudian menerapkan kurikulum Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) di semua lembaga pendidikan di Indonesia, termasuk Lembaga STT. Untuk menghadapi tantangan era global tersebut, STT perlu meninjau ulang kompetensi dan kapasitas lulusannya agar dapat berdaya saing tinggi dan berkontribusi tepat guna dalam menghadapi tantangan era global tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam karya ilmiah ini adalah studi pustaka dengan mengkaji berbagai iteratur terkait topik penelitian, untuk menjawab masalah penelitian. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa lembaga STT perlu mengedepankan antara paradigma pelayanan dan profesionalisme secara proporsional atau berimbang, sehingga menghasilkan profil lulusan yang mampu berdaya saing tinggi yaitu memiliki karakter Kristen yang unggul, kompeten di dunia kerja dengan menguasai teknologi, mampu berkontribusi singnifikan dalam menjawab masalah bangsa.Â
Integration of Christ\u27s Love in Family Discipleship to Overcome Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) in Generation Z
Generation Z (Gen Z) dominates Indonesia’s population, numbering 27.94%. Marked by their love for new technologies and fear of becoming “outdated”, these traits surely have a good impact on their development. However, these traits rise new negative impact: the fear of missing out (FOMO) which can lead to lower level of life satisfaction, psychological distress, and anxiety. Based on these problems, the study focuses on integrating the love of Christ in family discipleship to overcome FOMO in Gen Z. The authors used qualitative research approach by using literature review. Based on the review of various literature sources and idea framework building, the authors proposed three steps of discipleship in the family according to the love of Christ in overcoming FOMO. Firstly, discipleship is conducted by exposition to agape love concept, which has a role in shaping concept of self in the family environment. Gen Z is discipled by guiding them to receive God\u27s love that provides forgiveness and restoration for sinners. Secondly, discipleship is conducted in family by exposition to storge love concept. Parents provide guidance and education lovingly without having to arouse Gen Z’s anger. Third, discipleship is conducted by exposition to philia love concept, which occurs in an environment of friendship. The family becomes a common place to exhibit Christlikeness in an atmosphere of friendship. Christian Ethics toward Artificial Intelligence and Its Impacts on Humanity
Innovation in Artificial Intelligence raise a plethora of moral concerns, the majority of which are being thoughtfully explored by organizations ranging from small societal groups to large organizations and governments. Nevertheless, they raise ethical concerns that are not being adequately addressed. This research offers a comprehensive overview of the main ethical issues linked to the impact of Artificial Intelligence on human society from the perspective of Christian ethics. Christian ethics stresses human individuals’ intrinsic dignity as being made in the image of God (Imago Dei). It emphasizes the relevance of human dignity, well-being, and autonomy in the development and implementation of Artificial Intelligence. Having established a number of potential qualities of human identity, we then turn to the Scriptures in order to discover some biblical notions that may be helpful in addressing Artificial Intelligence and the meaning of being human, organized around the themes of creation, fall, and redemption. The report concludes with a call for accountability and humility
The Pastor’s Role in Effectively Managing the Congregation’s Potential: A Case Study in GKII Gracia Sintang
This article examines the pastor\u27s role as a religious leader in empowering the congregation\u27s potential. Research for this article was conducted in GKII Gracia parish, Sintang. Qualitative method was utilized by the researchers, who interviewed the pastor, church committee members, and many members of the congregation. Data triangulation was used to obtain pertinent information from interview transcripts, and the results were then presented in a descriptive manner. Based on the collected data, these roles—which the pastor does in his capacity as a spiritual leader—were recognized as being essential to achieving church autonomy in GKII Gracia Sintang: 1) enlistment of the congregation in spiritual ministry to involve them according to their own abilities and potential, 2) optimization of external opportunities and utilization of internal potential to achieve good results, 3) mobilization of the congregation through encouraging and galvanizing them to participate in church ministry. In order to support these roles, particularly mobilization, training, pastoral visitation, and sermon delivery aimed at awakening the congregation to the importance of their participation were carried out
Menggoyang Ruang Isolasi dalam Dunia Pendidikan: Berteologi di Tengah Masyarakat Plural
Restricting the space for the freedom of other religions to become an issue that continues to surface until now, and this has damaged the fact of plurality. Coexistence among religious adherents is a serious problem characterized by fanatical attitudes that isolate religious adherents for theological reasons. This then led to religious warnings that propagated in various sectors of human life including education. To overcome this problem, the purpose of this research is to provide space for theology to exist through the role of Christian education to shake up the space of isolation which continues to narrow relations between religious adherents. The method used in this research is content analysis concerning texts related to research topics in the form of journal articles, books, and online media which are selected according to research interests. The result of this study is that the role of education is needed as a vehicle for educating the intelligence of religious adherents in realizing theology both explicitly and implicitly in a pluralistic society. Through educated people, the isolation space can be shaken, and theology can exist creatively and proportionately in caring for the diversity of religious life
Moral Assessment of Violations of Marital Vows Among Christian Couples In Urhoboland
The majority of people, especially among the Urhobo, seem to view marriage as their final resort when it comes to getting over issues like loneliness, sexual tension, and social, cultural, economic, and political constraints. However, marriages built on these flimsy foundations frequently end in a string of breakdowns when faced with difficulties, which results in the breaking of marital vows. Due to the above, this work examines the morality of Christian couples in Urhoboland, Delta State, and Nigeria who break their marital vows. The inquiry made use of both analytical and phenomenological approaches. This work was evaluated using a systematic questionnaire and unstructured oral interviews. As a result, 12 churches in six local government areas were selected (Ethiopia East, Ethiopia West, Udu, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Sapele Local Government Areas). The phenomenological and analytical procedures were used due to the versatility of survey designs, which allow for a wide range of data collection techniques. The investigation in this work was done under two headings: factors responsible for violations of marriage vows and effects of marriage vow violations on couples, families, and society.
