Performance Evaluation of Quality of Service in Proposed Routing Protocol
Due to the recent developments in the hand-held devices and communication enhancements in wireless networks like mobile ad-hoc network (MANETs), these networks are targeted for providing real time services like video streaming, video conferencing, VOIP etc. Although, the basic design of MANETs is not fully capable to provide multimedia services, therefore some sort of quality-of-service is required in these networks. In this paper, I have proposed a delay-aware routing protocol that discovers routes for a source-destination pair with the application provided delay constraints. The methodology is focused on using a reactive routing approach, AODV, to discover the delay-aware routes during its route discovery phase. In this way, we are able to provide the QoS to the requesting application in terms of delay metric
Pose Invariant Face Recognition Using DT-CWT Partitioning and KPCA
In this paper the suitability of Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform for pose invariant Face Recognition is studied and a feature extraction frame work is proposed. This proposed framework will aid in design of Face Recognition system to address the challenging issue like Pose Variation. In contrast to the discrete wavelet Transform (DWT) the design of Dual Tree Complex Wavelet Transform is rugged to shift Invariance and poses good directional properties. These features of DT-CWT motivated to study their suitability for Face Feature Extraction, as the features of face are oriented in different directions. In this proposed frame work the Image is decomposed using DT-CWT and the features are extracted from low frequency band using Kernel Principal Component analysis (KPCA). To show the performance, the proposed method is tested on ORL Database. Satisfactory results are obtained using proposed method compared to existing state of art
A Text Mining-Based Anomaly aZDetection Model in Network Security
Anomaly detection systems are extensively used security tools to detect cyber-threats and attack activities in computer systems and networks. In this paper, we present Text Mining-Based Anomaly Detection (TMAD) model. We discuss n-gram text categorization and focus our attention on a main contribution of method TF-IDF (Term frequency, inverse document frequency), which enhance the performance commonly term weighting schemes are used, where the weights reflect the importance of a word in a specific document of the considered collection. Mahalanobis Distances Map (MDM) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are used to discover hidden correlations between the features and among the packet payloads. Experiments have been accomplished to estimate the performance of TMAD against ISCX dataset 2012 intrusion detection evaluation dataset. The results show TMAD has good accuracy
Using Latency to Evaluate Computer System Performance
Building high performance computer systems requires an understanding of the behaviour of systems and what makes them fast or slow. In addition to our file system performance analysis, we have a number of projects in measuring, evaluating, and understanding system performances. The conventional methodology for system performance measurement, which relies primarily on throughput-sensitive benchmarks and throughput metrics, has major limitations when analyzing the behaviour and performance of interactive workloads. The increasingly interactive character of personal computing demands new ways of measuring and analyzing system performance. In this paper, we present a combination of measurement techniques and benchmark methodologies that address these problems. We use some simple methods for making direct and precise measurements of event handling latency in the context of a realistic interactive application. We analyze how results from such measurements can be used to understand the detailed behaviour of latency-critical events. We demonstrate our techniques in an analysis of the performance of two releases of Windows 9x and Windows XP Professional. Our experience indicates that latency can be measured for a class of interactive workloads, providing a substantial improvement in the accuracy and detail of performance information over measurements based strictly on throughput
Policy-Based Management of a Secure Dynamic and Multipoint Virtual Private Network
Although IP VPN technology has recently been imposed because of its cost effectiveness and that several research studies have been proposed for centralized policy management of intra / inter VPN domain, most solutions are only addressed to VPN site-to-site technology, according to our researches no centralized management model based on a server for dynamic multipoint VPN networks was proposed. In this paper we propose a model 201C;DMVPN Security Management System201D;for centralized policy management of dynamic multipoint multi-architectures VPN network, using a new web interface. We have implemented and tested the model on Single Hub Single Cloud architecture consisting of ten Spokes, the time required for an expert on VPN networks for manual set up of this architecture is an hour, we moved that to five minutes with our model, in addition to time effectiveness the margin error is null
A Case Study Regarding the WIFI Bluetooth-based Implementation in Smart Narrow Field Communication
A Smart Narrow Field Communication (SNFC) deals with the wireless tag system which is developed through devices. Generally, on the internet it is hard to read long contents of the URL Present. On the internet these URL can be converted into QR code and NFC (Near Field Communication). First of all a device which is useful for wireless applications is given a name and considered as a tag. This device is used for recognizing a target content. Both of these are taken into a relation the URL are maintained on our cloud system along with the device name. Not only the device name the system also considers other user contents like gender and age in order to identify the target content. In Smart Narrow Field Communication all common device can be used as a tag. Blind Video Watermarking Scheme for Mpeg-4 Videos with Parity Sequences in Transform Domain
High quality video broad casting is of high demand both with DVB-2 (Digital Video Broad casting) and Internet services. But these broadcasted data is distributed without protection. Invisible mode of video watermarking is one of the solutions, here in this paper a novel approach of data embedding scheme is proposed for MPEG-4 videos with different parity check codes and processed in transform domain. A subjective and objective analysis is performed to examine the proposed approach. Experimental results on various videos have shown that LDPC (Low density parity check) code with Gold spreading sequence in transform domain outperforms when compared against the other methods
Maximising the Value of Missing Data
The subject of missing values in databases and how to handle them has received very little attention in the statistics and data mining literature1 2 3 and even less if any at all in the marketing literature The usual attitude of practitioners is we ll just have to ignore records with missing values On the other hand a few very advanced theoretical solutions have been developed some of which have been applied particularly to clinical trials data These solutions can only be applied to small databases not to the very large databases held by many companies on their customers This paper describes a new method for imputing missing values in such very large databases Two particular features of the method are that it can handle all combinations of variable type continuous ordinal and categorical and that all the missing values in the database are imputed in one run of the software It is based on the k-nearest neighbours method a well known method in data mining The paper concludes by presenting the results of a study of this method when used to impute the missing values in a real set of data This paper is only concerned with missing data i e data that are not known but which have real values It does not address the problem of empty data i e data that are not known but which cannot have real value
Fuzzy Cognitive Map based Prediction Tool for Schedule Overrun
The main aim of any software development organizations is to finish the project within acceptable or customary schedule and budget Software schedule overrun is one of a question that needs more concentration Schedule overrun may affect the whole project success like cost quality and increases risks Schedule overrun can be reason of project failure In today s competitive world controlling the schedule slippage of software project development is a challenging task Effective handling of schedule is an essential need for any software project organization The main tasks for software development estimation are determining the effort cost and schedule of developing the project under consideration Underestimation of project done knowingly just to win contract results into loses and also the poor quality project So precise schedule prediction leads to efficient control of time and budget during software development In this paper we developed a new technique for the prediction of schedule overrun This paper also presents the comparison with other algorithms of schedule estimation and Tool developed by us and at last proved that Fuzzy cognitive map based prediction tool gives more accurate results than other training algorithm
