Image Information Retrieval based on Edge Responses, Shape and Texture Features using Datamining Techniques
The present paper proposes a new technique that extracts significant structural, texture and local edge features from images. The local features are extracted by a steady local edge response that can sustain the presence of noise, illumination changes. The local edge response image is converted in to a ternary pattern image based on a local threshold. The structural features are derived by extracting shapes in the form of textons. The texture features are derived by constructing grey level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) on the derived texton image. A new variant of K-means clustering scheme is proposed for clustering of images. The proposed method is compared with various methods of image retrieval based on data mining techniques. The experimental results on Wang dataset shows the efficacy of the proposed method over the other methods

This paper studies the challenges in the current intrusion detection system and comparatively analyzes the active and passive response systems. The paper studies the existing IDS and their usefulness in detecting and preventing attacks in any type of network and control traffic with the performance of the system to be improved. The study also evaluates the emerging avenues in Intrusion Detection System and explores the possible future avenues in intrusion detection scheme. It is observed that the detection-based systems have started to gain popularity in the IT security domain. The paper highlights the need to implement an appropriately configured IDS since an optimally configured IDS deters hackers, thus, reducing the need for investigation by security experts for security violations
A Neural Network Approach to Transistor Circuit Design
Transistor amplifier design is an important and fundamental concept in electronics, typically encountered by students at the junior level in electrical engineering. This paper focuses on two configurations that employ neural networks to design bipolar junction transistor circuits. The purpose of this work is to determine which design best fits the required parameters. Engineers often need to develop transistor circuits using a particular topology, e.g., common emitter, common collector, or common base. These also include a set of parameters including voltage gain, input impedance, and output impedance. For the most part, there are several methodologies that can provide a suitable solution, however the objective of this work is to indicate which external resistors are necessary to yield useful designs by employing neural networks. Here, a neural network has been trained to supply these component values for a particular configuration based on the aforementioned parameters. This should save a significant amount of work when evaluating a particular topology. And it should also permit experimentation with several designs, without having to perform detailed calculations

Estimation of Missing Attribute Value in Time Series Database in Data Mining
Missing data is a widely recognized problem affecting large database in data mining. The substitution of mean values for missing data is commonly suggested and used in many statistical software packages, however, mean substitution lead to large errors in correlation matrix and therefore degrading the performance of statistical modeling. The problems arises are biasness of result data base, inefficient data in missing data when anomalous data is also present. In proposed work there is proper handling of missing data values and their analysis with removal of the anomalous data.This method provides more accurate and efficient result and reduces biasness of result for filling in missing data. Enhancing Security to Protect e-passport against Photo Forgery
Electronic Passport (e-passport) is one of the results of the electronic revolution in the World; since the passport is the document of the person in terms of identity and nationality and is the property of the country. One of the most important challenges is to protect this document from forgery. The common forgery for the passport is replacing its holder photo. The proposed system concentrates on the security part of the e-passport. It consists of two parts; the first part is hiding of the security code by using steganography and storing the same code in the RFID tag by the issuing country of the epassport. The other part will be operated at the control point of the destination country to make sure of the e-passport validity by checking the hidden code using NFC and verify it with the one in the RFID tag. If the two values are equal, then the system will compute a key using Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange. This key will be used to read the secret information in the tag
