Religious Reinterpretation: Pilgrimage and Transgender Individual’s Identity
This article explores the concept of piety among individuals who are socially, politically, and sexually marginalized from the heteronormative framework, focusing on the experiences of transgender women (waria) who have undertaken the Hajj and/or Umrah pilgrimage. The study employs a qualitative research method, utilizing an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach. Five transgender women participated in the research, selected through the snowball sampling technique. The findings indicate that religious and cultural norms have ingrained the belief among transgender women that their identity is part of God’s creation. These women often adopt the hijab as a means of affirming their Islamic identity. However, while they share a common religious identity, their approaches to religious rituals—particularly during the Hajj and/or Umrah—vary, influenced by the religious and cultural beliefs imparted by their families and communities

Gender stereotypes still make STEM education more suitable for careers of a certain gender. This study aims to explore gender dynamics in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education by conducting a literature review of the most cited articles in the last decade. In this study, 10 articles published in the last 10 years were selected using the Publish or Perish tool, with each article representing one year based on the highest number of citations. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the trends, findings, and challenges faced in promoting gender equality in STEM education. This study also seeks to identify structural and cultural barriers that affect women's participation in STEM, and their impact on their careers and lives. Through this literature analysis, we present a deeper understanding of the changes and developments in gender issues in STEM education, and offer insights into steps that can be taken to promote more inclusive and equal participation

Investigating the Role of Islamic Finance Literacy on Youths’ Economic Empowerment in Nigeria
This study investigates the role of Islamic finance literacy in promoting economic empowerment among youths in Nigeria. Despite growing interest in Islamic finance, there remains a notable gap between theoretical understanding and practical application among Nigerian youth. The research identifies this gap as an obstacle to meaningful economic empowerment especially in rural areas. A structured questionnaire was employed to gather data from a diverse sample of young respondents across Nigeria, assessing their awareness, understanding, and practical engagement with Islamic finance principles. The findings reveal that while many youths value the ethical and financial principles of Islamic finance, a lack of exposure and institutional support significantly limits their ability to leverage these tools for economic advancement. Notably, responses from urban areas were more informed, highlighting the need for inclusive strategies that target rural populations. The study finds strong correlations between Islamic finance literacy and youth empowerment outcomes, revealing the importance of integrated educational approaches. The research contributes new insights to the field by advocating for strategic collaboration between educational and Islamic finance institutions to develop inclusive literacy programs. It concludes that effective Islamic finance education can serve as a catalyst for sustainable youth economic empowerment in Nigeria
