No full textBusiness ethics has emerged as a field of study and as an issue of critical importance in the business world, in recent years. This interest has been increased; it can be suggested, by a series of corporate and government scandals resulting in an explosion in academic publications. An extremely important component of making business more ethical is to take the ethical aspects of managing people seriously (Winstanley and Woodall 2000a). Over the last decade, there have been a number of books, edited collections (Parker 1988a; Winstanley and Woodall 2000b; Woodall and Winstanley 2001), and articles published on ethics in academic journals and elsewhere. The Corporate, Government and Academia Interface [A People Management Perspective]
No full textAbout two decades ago, the only external challenges which the business leaders mentioned in their talks were climate change, terrorism, war and competition. But after the liberalization of the Indian economy, the changes in the external environment has not only multiplied in terms of its frequency but has become much more unpredictable. Policy uncertainty, deteriorating political and security conditions, stalled reforms are some of the major challenges which the organizations even today are grappling with. These coupled with increasing corruption, and bureaucratic logjam has made the survival of businesses all the more challenging. Hence, companies need to adopt a more flexible approach to planning, by developing several coherent, multidimensional strategic action plans. In order to prosper the companies will need to nurture awareness and resilience in their working culture. In this article, we attempt to analyze the various challenges the companies are facing due to the highly uncertain environment and its impact on business. We also discuss the traditional approach which managers use currently to tackle all kinds of uncertain situations and we also discuss the reasons as to why this approach fails. Then we suggest a framework which will help executives to analyze the uncertain environment and take appropriate strategic decisions based on the degree of uncertainty. The results of our analysis will provide the executives with a tool which will help them manage uncertainty in a systematic and sophisticated manner in order to overcome the challenges in the business environment. The ensuing discussion on the three legs of the tripod: corporate houses, government bodies and academic institutions thus enable us to present the reader with a new and emerging dialectic between Business/ Industrial Organization and larger Civil Society
International Journal of Web Applications: A Bibliometric Study
No full textThis article presents a bibliometric analysis of the journal “International Journal of Web Applications” for the period between 2009 to 2013. The analysis cover mainly the number of articles, authorship pattern, geographical distribution of articles, average number of references per articles, forms of documents cited, year wise distribution of cited journals etc. All the studies point towards the merits and weakness of the journal which will be helpful for its further development. Study reveals that most of the contributions are from Foreign with 92.77% and the rest 7.23% only from the Indian sources

This article is discussed about the published research articles and its citation from sixteen management Institutions in India. During the 2004 to 2014 period 1499 articles were published, the maximum number of articles 197 (13.14%) was published by the IMT followed by the 193 (12.88%) articles from NCIPM, and the minimum number of articles published by NIASM with 45 (3.00%)
State Politics in Uttar Pradesh
No full textIndia is a transitional society; its politics tends to be in a process of flux and change. The need to study state politics draws heavily upon systematic approach. Uttar Pradesh has been the cradle of Hindu civilization and culture. Probably it is also the most cosmopolitan of all the states of India. The politics in Uttar Pradesh has not only revolutionized various aspects of life in the state but also procured eminent names to the politics of India as well. Before 1967, the state had been a prey to factionalism of the Congress party in the state. The state’s politics has encountered a major overwhelming upheaval in the last few decades. Uttar Pradesh, a strong bastion of the Congress party till 1989 has come to be a state governed by coalition governments for a decade now except for the one brief period of BJP government in the early 1990s. The electoral politics of Uttar Pradesh can be neatly divided into two phasesthe phase of Congress domination from 1952 to 1989 and the non-Congress phase of coalition governments from 1989 to 1999 characterized by the three political formations, viz., the SP, the BJP and the BSP. Impact of Gross Domestic Product on Employment in India: A Pre-reform and Post-reform Comparison
No full textThe article attempts to examine the impact of gross domestic product (GDP) on employment in India. It further testifies whether there exists structure stability in the employment among primary, secondary and tertiary sectors in the pre-reform and post-reform periods. Besides, the work depicts the overall employment scenario in India and explores various issues and problems related with rural employment in India. The article also discusses the status of labor in rural India and evolution of employment generation programs in rural India. Simple regression analysis and Chow statistics have been used to facilitate the analysis. A unit change in GDP in the primary sector is capable of bringing .80 unit of change in employment in the primary sector. Similarly, a unit change in GDP in the secondary sector brings about 3.05 unit of change in employment in the secondary sector. Besides, a unit change in GDP of tertiary sector is capable of bringing .499 unit change in employment in the tertiary sector. Result shows that there exists structural stability among primary and secondary sectors in the pre-reform and post-reform periods but tertiary sector shows structural instability for the aforementioned period. The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Economic Growth of South Asian Countries and Empirical Evidence of FDI Have Strongly Contribute in GDP
No full textEvidence shows foreign direct investment positively affects the economic growth of South Asian countries and also FDI strongly contributes in GDP as well. FDI has extreme importance for economic growth. Foreign direct investment significantly and positively contributed to output level and growth based on the regression results. The data for study used was from 1983 to 2013 and three models were used for this study: descriptive, correlation coefficient and regression model. Generally, institution quality does matter and it affects more than the other variables because these countries are not politically strong and are facing security problem. To attract foreign direct investment, every country should be politically stable and it is responsibility of the government to set familiar polices to attract FDI. Output level as a dependent variable is positively affected by FDI, government spending, initial GDP, investment and openness.
