Effect of Mass Media on Objectifying of Humans
Media is a tool that is used to convey mass communication to a larger audience or crowd. It is a good source of entertainment and information and also has a great impact in our day-to-day life. It has its feet everywhere, right from the children to the old people, and it affects each age group differently. As media is the source of information we are dependent upon, it is a support to the people for shaping their opinions and attitudes. In this paper, we have conducted a survey within the indicated age group and determined the influence, the views and opinions of the people. Also, we have identified certain events in media that greatly magnify this issue, and finally suggested a solution to reduce the influence and not objectify humans.
Impact of Goods and Service Tax After Implementation
Before implementation of GST in India, Government of India collected indirect taxes in the various names. Direct tax is mostly define clearly to tax payer, but indirect tax does not define clearly because it collected by government to each stage manufacturer to customer. For clearing of indirect tax government of India introduced biggest tax reforms after independence since 1947 in the name ofGST. After implementing of GST in India, there are several issues arises in front of the GOI, Professionals, business man and even customers. These are the issues highlighted in this paper.
Effect of Training and Development Based Strategy on Productivity of Employees-An Empirical Investigation
Training and development function hones the skillfulness, expertise, and efficiency of employees consequently improving the organizational productivity. Like in all other sectors, it is a key HRM function in banking sector too. A strongly structured T&D plan curtails randomness and facilitates attitude and behavioral change. Once put into action, the plan not only broadens the horizons of employee intellect but also grooms their personality. This study uses development based theory in order to evaluate the status of T&D practices in one branch each of PNB and HDFC bank and also establishes a link of training practices with productivity. The results indicate ‘mediocrity’ of training being imparted in both branches and concludes that perception of training significantly differs with demographic parameters of gender and designation
Manipuri Film Industry
In this article, researcher critically analyzes the multiple challenges faced by Manipuri film industry. Manipuri film industry, even though a very small film industry it is, has been obviously giving a big contribution to the Indian film Industry, and even to the international scenario since 1972 with the production of its first feature film ‘Matamgi Manipur’. The State bagged 57 National Film Awards - 27 for feature films and 30 for non-feature (Short and Documentary) films till 2014. Unfortunately, for the last two decades, Manipuri film industry has been diminishing its prestige of making international and national acclaimed films. Hence, the researcher is very much curious to critically analyze the challenges faced by Manipuri film industry. For this study, researcher conducted a telephonic interview with a senior Manipuri film journalist of The Poknapham, a Daily Manipuri Newspaper which has the largest circulation in Manipur and also used the official documents published by Directorate of Film Festival, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India
Tamil Nadu Farmers Protest at Jantar Mantar: News Frame Analysis
In the communication era India continues to be an agrarian society. 60% of the population does agriculture and allied works. In a land of such agriculture importance, news media hesitate to provide reports about agriculture and the agrarian crisis. India is one of the countries which have alarmingly increase number of farmer suicide. According to ‘National Crime record bureau’ nearly 31 lakhs farmers commit suicide over the past 20years. ‘Census of India’ statistics states that farmer’s population declines rapidly at the rate of 70 lakhs per year. Climate change, change in the government policy and many other factors play an important role in pushing the farmers to a pathetic plight. In this scenario the role of media is very important in educating the farmers about the latest development in the agriculture parlance and also informing the common public about the plight of the agrarians. Hence it is necessary to study the role of news papers in informing the public about the news related to agriculture which is the live wire of the Indian society. This research paper tries to analyze the framing technique adopted by the newspaper The Hindu (Tamil and English) in reporting the news about Tamilnadu farmers’s protest at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. The study applies Entman’s “Frame analysis” method to analyse the news about the“farmers protest at Jantar Mantar”. The news papers taken for analysis are “The Hindu” Tamil and “The Hindu” English, because both the newspapers are from the same house of publication but applies different news framing in reporting the news about “farmers protest at Jantar Mantar”
Social Networking website Gathers Individuals for a Social cause - A Study on Facebook Events
Communication between the individual and the society becomes easy and faster with the world’s largest encyclopedia which is called as Internet. Social media networking websites and applications paved way to share one’s own feelings and emotions to the known and unknown faces with a single click. Whether it is personal or social, messages are getting posted not only through computers but also through their updated android mobile phones. Social networking website is used to linkup the likeminded people and gathers them for the social cause. Chennai Memes Facebook page events from the year 2016 till the mid of 2018 were taken for this study. This research will reveal the various types of events posted to gather people, the way how the message was communicated to the masses in a social media and the reason for posting the events. This study is basically exploratory in nature and followed mixed methodology.
An Empirical Case Study of DEMATEL Method Focus on Indonesian Coffee Consumption
The single-mindedness of this study is to find the key factors prompting Indonesian coffee consumption and explore the causal relationships between perspectives (P) and criteria (C). This case study used DecisionMaking Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method used for making decision and analysis to forecast future scenarios. The results found that the DEMATEL include six main perspectives and eighteen criteria were extracted and then validated by fifteen experts. Therefore, the most critical evaluation perspective with the most exceptional value 11.4074, although Availability (P4) was the least essential perspective with the smallest value 7.0138. Regarding value, the prioritization of the importance of four evaluation perspective numbred from perspectives P1 to perspectives P4. Finally, the proposed methods not only improve the DEMATEL methodology but also provide a valuable reference to do the best planning for Indonesian coffee segment.
Impact of Goods and Service Tax (GST) on Indian Economy
Traditionally India’s tax regime relied heavily on indirect taxes.. But the Indian system of indirect taxation is characterized by cascading, distorting tax on production of goods and services which leads to hampering productivity and slower economic growth. There are endless taxes in present system few levied by Centre and rest levied by state, to remove this multiplicity of taxes and reducing the burden of the tax payer a simple tax is required and that is goods and service tax (GST). The purpose of this research paper is to examine the impact of Goods and Services tax on Indian Economy.
Achieving Regional Economic Growth by Strategically Improving Trade Policies
This article attempts to identify some of the challenges relating to current trade policies of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries and provides some recommendations for these policies regarding bilateral and global trade. The common structure of the economies and the same intensive price competitiveness could lead to a great deal of formal trade between SAARC countries, but this potential is yet to be realized.
