Identity Construction in Digital Age: A Study among College Students in Chennai
The intervention of globalization, commercialization etc., in present day societies there is a loss of relevance to a traditional activity of socialization. People are increasingly tested to embrace their socialization by their own. To demonstrate the mental ability to deal with the requests of socialization, the people require to create the innovative capability of correspondence. Financial Performance of Pharmaceutical Industry in India
The performance measurement of companies has been the subject of numerous surveys during the last few years. In the present study, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique as well as the financial-based variables such as Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Debt Equity Ratio are taken as input indicators and Gross Profit Margin (%), Net Profit Margin (%), Return on Assets Including Revaluations, Dividend Per Share, Earnings Per Share (EPS), D/P Ratio (Dividend Pay-out Ratio) as Output Indicatorshave been applied to measure the performance and efficiency ofthe selected pharmaceutical companies during the period of 2013-2014 to 2016-2017. The main objective of this research is to analysis pharmaceutical companies and comparing their efficiency by data envelopment analysis (DEA). In this work we have used an integrated fundamental analysis and DEA model to analyse the pharmaceutical sector.
Impact of Employee Attitude on Productivity and Performance: A Study on Organizational Citizenship behavior in Iron and Steel Industry of India
Employee attitude at workplace is a key concern for any organization including integrated iron and steel industries. These iron and steel industries are considered as the base for industrialization in an economically developing country like India. Organizational citizenship behaviors though not related directly to main task activities but are important as they support social, psychological and organizational context which serve as a key catalyst to accomplish tasks for any industry. The present study has been focused on the appraisal of the diverse factors which affects the attitude of the employees in positive as well as negative ways which further impacted on the performance and productivity of an organization. Based on employees’ perception, employee attitude may depend on different constraints like work environment, training, remuneration, job security, employee satisfaction, and fairness of treatment etc. which can cause the individuals to work at different rates, thus affecting the overall performance and productivity of an organization. It has been observed from the studies that it is essential for development of healthy employee retention strategy in the organizational ong with planning for producing more number of well-trained manpower. Further, there is also need for research on employees’ attitudes at workplace as the literatures reviewed lacked in providing the gene of negative attitudes of employees and their consequences which could hinder the progress of an organization in future

Current Trends in Tamil Cinema and its Impact on Audience
The “CINEMA” is a mesmerizing word for the Tamil Audience and it is ruling the hearts and houses for more than 100 years. The larger than life images have played a major role in the socio, political and cultural lives of the people of Tamil Nadu. The images have participated in all emotion of the audience, when the nation was fighting for freedom, the images have spelled “Vanthe Matharam”, during the festival the images have sung “Unnaikandu Naan Aada… Ullasam Pongum inba Deepavali”, during the world war the images have narrated “Andhanal”. When television was entered, the cinema has embarrassed and made television as supplement screen. When people had communal riot, the cinema presented “BOMBAY”, at the time of water scarcity the screen offered “Thanneer Thanner”, when we were at romantic mood it screened “16 Vayathinile”, to empower the women and to criticize the male domination it showed “Pudhumai Pen”, it punished the pannyar in Uthiri Pookkal, exposed the life of the innocent tribals in “Mullum Malarum” it brought the historical characters to proximity like “Veera Pandiya Kattabomman”, “Raja Raja Cholan”, It was created docu-fiction on the lives of ethnic groups as “Devar Magan”, “Madhurai Veeran”, “Chinna Gowndar” and “Kala”. Above all the cinema has provided five Chief Ministers to Tamil Nadu assembly. After the implementation of New Economic policy the cinema has faced many obstacles. The satellite television has offered more than 100 channels, the conventional cinema has changed from celluloid to digital, sports become as the core entertainment for the young ones, family audiences have moved away from theatre, ticket prices went up, Mobile brought the digital content to the palm of young audience in spite of all these challenges, the cinema multiplexes have increased, the film productions also have increased in numbers, new film makers are coming in and the Tamil film business have widened its wings to the international spear. The Tamil films are continued to be in the goodwill of Tamil People with the changing screen formats provided by the AMAZON PRIME and the NETFLIKS.
A Framework for Improving Competitiveness of Manufacturing Industries through Productivity and Quality Improvement Methods
Competition is the hottest economic game nowadays because of growing realization regarding its extraordinarily close links with economic success in the market, resulting in economic growth and socioeconomic well-being of the people. The companies strive to become more competitive by pursuing practices to improve productivity, quality, technology, creativity, and flexibility. Competitiveness, productivity, and quality are complementary to one another. It is a matter of interest to identify the interrelationship amongst improvement programs/practices and enhancement in dimensions of competitiveness. Though a lot of work has been carried out by a number of researchers world over in these areas, the available literature does not report studies highlighting such interrelationships. A framework is proposed in this paper to establish the linkages between them. It is attempted to identify programs/practices popularly employed in industry, which may result in enhancement of specific components of competitiveness. A systematic research may be carried out to establish the links and evolve guidelines to diagnose organizational requirements for improvement in specific dimensions of competitiveness and the programs/ practices to be implemented for the purpose.

Corporate Fraud
This chapter reveals about the frauds that increasing at a high rate in the corporate sector. Corporate sector consist of private companies, commercial banks, etc. Basically, corporate fraud is an illegal and criminal offence that an individual or company does in order to gain unfair advantage. It affects the economy as well as customers of the organization. Today, the fraud in the corporate sector is on rise. We came to know about new scams and fraud each and every day. But why these frauds are rising? What is the need of giving rise to the activities like fraud? The answer to the above questions is greed and dishonesty among the employees. Greed is the only cause because of which the fraud in the corporate sector is rising. Because of such frauds, middle class people have to face a lot of financial problems. Middle class people invest their money in the shares of the company and because of fraud, the nominal value of the share falls and they have to face a huge loss. Usually, people deposit their surplus income in the bank to gain interest, but to fraud in the banks, their money gets stolen because of which they have to face a lots of financial problem. A fraud also affects the image of the company. The image or goodwill of the company goes down in the market and loses the trust of the customers and investors. Let’s take the example of latest fraud case. The latest fraud case is of PNB Bank. The fraud is done by Nirav Modi of about Rs.12, 600 crore. There are also some of the famous corporate frauds such as Satyam scandal, fraud of Sahara, fraud of Kingfisher, etc. These frauds are arising because businessman are not having proper look after over the accounts. They do not go through the accounts and statements on regular basis. In order to minimize the corporate frauds, certain actions must be taken. There must be a proper and personal check over all the employees. Experts must be hired to inspect the accounts. Important and confidential data must be handled personally. Statements must be checked on regular basis. Above are certain steps that a company might follow in order to reduce the rising practice of corporate fraud

Media Coverage of Chennai-Ennore Oil Spill Disaster
The present research is-related to the appraisal of the media coverage of oil spill disaster and so detection of coverage, determination of the distribution of coverage and determination of the contributory factors to the overall coverage of oil spill disaster-related news and illustrations in a leading Tamil newspaper was independently carried out. The detection on the coverage of oil spill disaster-related news revealed that there was 16.5% of coverage as an average on daily basis in the newspaper. It also revealed that 21.4% of the news was well supported by suitable illustrations. The determination of distribution of coverage revealed that the oil spill disaster-related news was inappropriately distributed in news items, special articles, editorials and other integral components of newspaper. It also revealed that 56% of the oil spill disaster-related news distribution was in upper-half part on both sides of the newspaper so as to have better readability. The determination of contributory factors to coverage revealed that spread of oil spill, stick on the shore, cleanup process taken by government authorities, cleanup process taken up by volunteers and disposal of sludge mainly contributed to the overall coverage in the news items of the newspaper. It also revealed that environmental, economic and abatement measures mainly contributed to the overall coverage in the special articles and editorials of the newspaper. It could be concluded that the role of media would be optimized to ensure the provision of balanced information regarding disasters to common public
