    No full text
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) traditionally used by people as antifertility agent for female. Fennel leaves (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) contain phytoestrogen that has role as antiestrogen or synthesized become antiestrogen. Coumarin is the kind phytoestrogen that can be antiestrogen to female reproductive organs such as ovary and utery. The aim of this research is to find out the influence of fennel leaves infuse (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) on morphometric of ovary and utery in female rats (Rattus sp.) administered after parturition, to find out the effective dose  affecting the morphometric of ovary and utery and to find out the total coumarin consisted in fennel leaves (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.). This research was carried out by using CRD (Completely Randomized Design) consisted of 2 groups, those are control group (aquades) and treatment groups (doses of fennel leaves infuse 20 g/300 ml, 40 g/300 ml and 60 g/300 ml). The treatment was administered in the morning and afternoon for 15 days. After 15 days of treatment, the rats were sacrificed and dissected to measure the morphometry of reproductive organs (ovary and utery). The data obtained was analyzed by Analysis of Varian (ANOVA) and continued by LSD (Least Significance Different) test with significance of 5%. The measurement of coumarin level was performed by TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) densitometry method. The result of this research showed that the administration of infused fennel leaves (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) at dose of 20 g/300 ml, 40 g/300 ml and 60 g/300 ml significantly decreased ovarian weigh in female rats (Rattus sp.) after parturition (p<0,05), but not decreased the  length, width, thick of ovary, length and diameter of utery (p>0,05). No difference was observed between doses 20 g/300 ml, 40 g/300 ml and 60 g/300 ml, and it showed that the dose 20 g/300 ml of fennel leaves infuse was able to be used to decrease the weigth of ovary. Coumarin level observed in leaves is 0,09%, and it is higher than the coumarin content in fruit/seed

    No full text
The production of thin films using the sputtering preparation method is closely related to plasma. The deposition process involves several factors including self-bias voltage, sputter gas pressure, the distance between electrodes, and how to clean the substrate. This study will discuss the effect of variations in gas pressure and electrode distance on the resulting self-bias voltage. The method used is an RF sputtering system equipped with sensors for self-biased pressure and voltage readings. The results show that there is a corelations between pressure and electrode distance with self-biased voltage. Argon gas pressure variations are carried out in the range 4.5 – 8 x 10-2 mbar with variations for each increase in argon gas pressure of 0.5 x 10-2 mbar. The graph plot results show a logarithmic inversely proportional relationship, that is, when the pressure of argon gas is increased, there will be a decrease in self-bias voltage. The variation of the electrode spacing is carried out in the range 2 – 5 x 10-2 meters with a variation of each increase in the electrode distance of 1 x 10-2 meters. The corelations between the distance of electrodes and the self-biased voltage is logarithmic. When the electrode distance is increased there will be an increase in the value of the self-bias voltage

    No full text
Gas Field “X” is field gas located on Prabumulih, South Sumatra. The “X” Field consist of 12 active well which produce gas from the BRF Layer(Baturaja Formation). After calculating the gas reserves offield“X”, Original Oil In Place (OGIP) is 526.48 BSCF. The purpose of optimization of the physical properties of gas fluids is to know the characteristics of gas fluids at the exploitation stage of the “X” gas field. From the gas composition, we know that the properties of gas from the field “X” dominated by methane, and the composition of impurities not so high. So, to know the fluid characteristic of reservoir required calculation with some correlation. If the characteristics of the gas fluid are known then it can calculate the welltest value, recovery factor value, and design of the surface gas production facilities. The methodology used to determine the physical fluid properties of gas at field “X” is to perform calculations on the physical fluid gas properties : Z factor, using Beggs And Brill correlation by consider the Pseudocritical Pressure (Ppc), Viscosity using Carr correlation, also viscosity of gas impurities (N2, CO2, and H2S), and Gas Formation Volume Factor (Bg) using Real gas equation-of-state correlation. Calculation of parameters, and analysis of PVT data conducted using Well X-01 as a research object. The results of PVT data analysis is considered to represent the real condition of BatuRaja Formation ofReservoir Gas Field "X". Fromthe calculation, the value of physical properties obtained is Z factor of 0.804061 with Pseudocritical Pressure (Ppc) of 747,014 Psi, viscosity of 0.017115cp with N2 correction for gas viscosity of 0.000008, CO2 correction for gas viscosity of 0.001071, H2S correction for gas viscosity of 0. In addition, the value of the Gas Formation Volume Factor (Bg) is 0.00084 cuft/scf. These parameters are calculated at the same pressure value, then the fluid characteristics of the reservoir can be known at each pressure drop assuming the isothermal condition of reservoir

The spacious range of particle accelerator application penetrates not only in particle physics research, but also in other scientific field which is like chemistry, biology, technology and industry. Generally, its application is supporting the medical diagnostic and therapy, product sterilization and preservation, and in optical or electrical component manufacture, etc. Based on the library research, accelerators that have been developed can be divided into conventional accelerators and modern particle accelerators. The conventional accelerator is an accelerator principle based on the early concept of electromagnetism which is applied directly and simply to help human work. Modern accelerator is the next generation of conventional accelerator which has been developing to reach the need in extremely high energy. Modern particle accelerators are built on the basis of physics concepts such as Maxwell\u27s equations to the latest theory of particle physics. The varieties of particle accelerator include first generation of accelerator, Van de Graaff, linac, betatron, cyclotron, microtron, synchrotron, synchrocyclotron, electron linac, proton linac, SLAC, ring collider, tevatron, (LEP, LHC, RHIC), and SSC. Current and future accelerator research challenges are to develop accelerators that have high efficiency but are more eco-friendly by minimizing nuclear waste and radiation factors. As the example is muon collider. Muon Collider has great prospective but the character of its instability still has quite challenging puzzle to solve. The field of material physics is very possible to take a role in this research because in principle the development of particle accelerator both its science and technology are necessity for material research, especially in material characterization

    No full text
The water source of the people residing in Code Watershed is currently accessed from water wells, which are privately owned by most of the house. The urban area in the watershed is highly populated and its waste is disposed of into the ground, which contaminates groundwater. Therefore, an urban area located in a higher topography poses threats to the groundwater quality downstream. The research found that the groundwater in the lower part of Code Watershed was polluted because it received the waste discharge from the city upstream and, at the same time, had to deal with the existing pollution in it
