Animal Bat consists of Megachiroptera and Microchiroptera. The difference between the two bats lies in the type and behavior of eating. Megachiroptera is a fruit-eating bat, while Microchiroptera is an insect-eating bat. This study aims to compare the digestive organ of fruit-eating bats (Pteropus vampyrus) and insect-eating bats (Rhinolopus pusillus). This research was conducted by observing macroanatomy and microanatomy in the digestive organ of both bats. Macroanatomy observation is done by looking at the shape and curvature of the analysis through organ photo media. Microanatomy observation was done by making organ preparations with hematoxylin-eosin staining and observed using a microscope. The digestive organ of fruit-eating bats and insectivores consists of the esophagus, stomach, duodenum and rectum. Macroanatomically, fruit-eating bats and insectivores differ in size, where the fruit-eating bat\u27s digestive organs are larger than insectivorous bats. Microanatomically, fruit-eating bats and insectivores have relatively similar histological structures, which differ only in the size of the cell

    No full text
Lizards have the ability to shed their tails as a defence mechanism, known as autotomy. The tails will regenerate after automomy. Anatomical difference between original and regenerated tail could have resulted in the difference of capacity of autotomy and postautotomy tail movement. The aims of the research were to study the capacity of autotomy and postautotomy movement of original and regenerated tail of lizard. Comparation of the capacity of autotomy and postautotomic movement between original and the regenerated tail was studied using three groups of lizard, namely group of lizard with original tail (10 lizards), eight weeks regenerated tail group (10 lizards), and twelve weeks regenerate tail group(10 lizards). All groups received same treatment. The lizards were hold on the proximal part of tail with tweezers until autotomy has taken place, and the duration to autotomy and postautotmy movement were recorded. The result of the study revealed that the capacity of autotomy and the postautotomy movement were lower in regenerated tail compare to those of the original one

Batik is one of the hereditary cultural heritages which has a high aesthetic value and a deep philosophy. Batik is one of the cultural icons from Indonesia which was awarded as a cultural heritage from UNESCO on October 2, 2009. Currently, Indonesian batik has various types of motifs and different patterns, which are scattered in Indonesia with their names and meanings. The many batik patterns in Indonesia make it difficult to identify batik motifs, especially for the common people. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to have a batik classification system with a high level of accuracy, so that everyone can recognize the batik pattern easily. In this study, the Histogram Of Oriented Gradient method was used as a feature extraction process to obtain batik density and Multilayer Perceptron as a classification method to determine the level of accuracy. The result of the level of accuracy obtained for each batik motif has a different level of accuracy. This is because the batik motifs have unique patterns and shapes that are not specific. The level of income obtained was 83.4 %. From the results of the study concluded that the use of the Histogram Of Oriented Gradient method as a feature extraction method, the Multilayer Perceptron as a classifier can be applied for image classification on batik

    No full text
