SIMULATION OF FLUID FLOW THROUGH A STAINLESS STEEL GLOBE VALVE USING ENGINEERING FLUID DYNAMICS
Globe valves are often used in many practical application of industry with the aim of controlling the fluid flow through the valve. Valve design ensuring an operation capacity plays an important role for engineers. This paper presents the design and simulation of fluid flow through the globe valve using CAD/CAE tools such as Autodesk CFD. Besides, design of experiment technique Box-Behnken is used to integrate the CFD simulation to identify the optimal design parameters of the globe valve. These parameters are inlet pressure, orifice diameter, and outlet clearance. The results showed that the optimal parameters are appropriate to improve the valve design to ensure the maximum fluid flow rate

The purpose of the research is known the value of relative conductivity and the distribution of manganese. The method used very low frequency tilt mode. The tools used 2 set of T-VLF BRGM (sensor and monitor) and the data processing software are Ms. Excel and KHFILT. T-VLF operated with 2 frequencies that are 19800 Hz from Australia and 22.200 Hz from Elbino Japan. The total lines are 6 lines with 75 m space. Distance between measured points is 15 m, whereas line length is 300 m. The parameters measured from VLF method are tilt (%) and ellipticity (%). The raw data VLF is processed by Ms Excel to obtain a tilt, ellipse, fraser graph vs distance and the RAE from Karous Hjelt filter. While the results of processed by KHFILT software is the equivalent current density contour map. Relative conductivity of area research are line 1 (-10 to 10) mho/m, line 2 (-40 to 30) mho/m, line 3 (-20 to 20) mho/m, line 4 (-30 to 10) mho/m, line 5 (-40 to 30) mho/m and line 6 (-30 to 40) mho/m. The spread of manganese were in the high conductivity, toward west and east of research area with depth up to 45 m
The Performance of Electricity Producing of Dual Chamber Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs) Using Wastewater of Tempe Industries
The performance of electricity producing of Dual Chamber Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs) using wastewater of tempe industries without glucose addition (as control substrate) and with (2% and 4%) glucose addition was observed. The anode chamber contained a waste substrate and a cathode chamber contained a 0.1 M Potassium Permanganate electrolyte solution. The salt bridge was required to stabilize the charge between the cathode and anode chambers, and the electrodes attached to the anode and cathode chambers as the electron catcher. Voltages and currents were measured using multimeter. Optical Density measured at 486 nm wavelengths was performed to estimate bacterial growth activity. All of the cells were observed for 72 hours of running time. The results of Optical Density curves showed an increasing trend of absorbance during 72 hours of running time. These were in agreement with the resulting power density, which tended to increase until the 48th hour and then relatively stable especially for the substrate with 4% glucose addition. These MFCs system could also reduce COD by 1.52%, 9.76%, and 9.64% on control substrate, 2% glucose addition substrate, and 4% glucose addition substrate, respectively
Characteristics Between New Oil and Used Oil by Using Laser Light Intensity and Lux Meter
Tests on the characteristics of making new oil and used oil by using laser light intensity and lux meters have been done. The purpose of this study is to distinguish the characteristics of the light intensity between fresh oil and used oil. In this study used an alternative method to the light intensity Lux meter. To get the data is done by varying the distance from the laser to the sample as much as five times. Based on data obtained from testing the intensity of light on new oil and used oil can be concluded that the value of the light intensity at the new oil is greater than the used oil. New oil has a light intensity of I = (0.122591964) Cd and used oil has a light intensity of I = (0.017841741) Cd

Identification Bacterial Contaminant in Semiarundinaria fastuosa Tissue Culture
Bamboo is one of the plants which propagated by tissue culture technique however, the emergence of microbial contaminant caused decrease of bamboo production. A type of microbe that caused the contamination on Semiarundinaria fastuosa tissue culture is bacteria. This study aimed to isolate bacterial contaminant and understanding its biodiversity. Bacterial isolation and phenotypic characterization were done by observing morphology, physiological test, biochemical test, identification and numeric phenetic analysis. Twelve bacterial contaminants was isolated and based on profile matching with Bergey’s Manual of Determinative Bacteriology, six isolate was a member of genus Bacillus, one isolate Enterococcus, two isolate Xenorhabdus, one isolate Morococcus, one isolate Corynebacterium, and one isolate belongs to genus Sarcina. A dendrogram created using Simple Matching coefficient (SSM) parameter and average linkage algorithm shown that on the 71% similarity index, all 12 OTU was grouped in one cluster. However, a dendrogram produced by Jaccard’s coefficient (SJ) parameter and average linkage algorithm on 70% similarity index divided 12 OTU on to 12 clusters.
Accuracy Assessment of Land Use/Land Cover Classification Data from Sentinel-2 & ASTER Imagery Interpretation using Unsupervised Classification Algorithm
Accurate land use/land cover information is important for various spatial planning decision making. Remote sensing is an effective mapping technique such as those depicting land cover as it provides a map-like representation of the Earth’s surface that is spatially highly consistent. This study compared the classification accuracies of land cover/land use maps created from Sentinel-2 and ASTER imagery with the Kalimanah Sub-district as a research area. Both images are clustered into 52 spectral clusters using Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) and K-means unsupervised classification algorithm. Each spectral cluster from each image was assigned into four land use/land cover classes, i.e. urban, agricultural, forest, and barren land. 240 data references were generated from Google Earth imagery as the sample data set is compared with the classification maps that is being assessed. With the kappa analysis approach, error matrices are made based on the same data references for each of the two images to assess the classification quality and to find out the best imagery that yields the most accurate land use/land cover data. Overall accuracy of LVQ algorithm for the Sentinel-2 and ASTER imageries was 78.33% and 69.17%, respectively; while the kappa coefficient of LVQ algorithm for the Sentinel-2 and ASTER imageries were 0.71 and 0.55, respectively. In different circumstances, overall accuracy of K-means algorithm for the Sentinel-2 and ASTER imageries were 81.25% and 72.68%, respectively; while the kappa coefficient of K-means algorithm for both imageries were 0.74 and 0.61, respectively. At the 95% confidence level, for both LVQ and K-means classification algorithms, image classification accuracies of Sentinel-2 dataset are better than the ASTER dataset. Thus, Sentinel-2 imagery provides better accuracy than ASTER imagery in land use/land cover classification data from any unsupervised classification algorithms

METODE EKSPERIMEN DALAM PEMBELAJARAN SAINS UNTUK ANAK USIA DINI (Experimental Methods In Science Learning For Early Childhood)
