The Effect of Reagan’s Tax Policies on Farm Size Distribution in Washington State
Get PDFRecent developments with the election of Donald Trump and his tax policies have brought forward concerns of where the agricultural sector is headed in the near future. This paper examines the impacts of Ronald Reagan, a president with a similar economic ideology to Trump, and his tax policies on farm size distribution in America, in particular, Washington State. Data from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service shows that the only factor which seems to have a significant negative correlation to average farm size in Washington is the quantity of wheat produced in the state. When examining the historical context and the policies passed by Reagan, it is concluded that there are many other factors which have a larger impact. It is actually the domestic and foreign policies which affect farm size distribution the most. Domestic policies like the shift toward conservation had a direct effect on farm size by incentivizing many farmers to get their land out of production. Foreign policy had the most significant effect on production quantity of wheat because when relations with big consumers like the Soviet Union deteriorated, so did the quantity produced. This paper highlights how the most important industry which provides everyone with food security, is most strongly affected by decisions made outside of the people operating businesses within the industry
Decentralization and Investment Decisions: A Study on Alternative Asset Investment Behavior in the Web3 Environment
Get PDFThis study discusses the behavior of decentralized decision-making of investment in Web3 environment, and the primary factors affecting the decision of investors, including governance with transparence and fair process, opinion of the community, fluctuations of markets, and trends of social networks. From DeFi platforms and markets of NFT, this study finds the inclination of investors towards governance with transparence and fair process when selecting projects, and decisive impacts of opinion of the community on decision. This study also finds significant impacts of social network and fluctuations of markets on short-term investment, and greater risk appetite of investors under more fluctuations of markets. This study verifies the impacts of these factors on the Web3 environment of investment with data simulation under a virtual environment, provides in-depth understanding of behavior of investment under decentralized finance and markets of NFT, and provides valuable references for related projects' design and operation
Analysis on the Evolution Path and Influencing Factors of Financial Governance Mechanism of Manufacturing Enterprises Under the Background of Digital Transformation
Get PDFAmid the accelerating digital economy, financial governance in manufacturing enterprises is shifting from experience-driven to data-driven models. The traditional model has encountered structural bottlenecks in terms of collaborative efficiency and process consistency. This paper constructs a three-stage financial governance evolution framework, comprising the stages of experience, process, and intelligence and identifies three key influencing factors, including technology integration, data governance and organizational change. By introducing typical enterprise cases such as Huawei, Midea and Haier, this paper explores their practical approaches to process reconstruction, master data governance, and cognitive transformation, further discusses the systematic obstacles in the transformation process, and proposes an improvement path with process collaboration, data integration, cognitive reshaping and dynamic response as the core, aiming to provide theoretical support and practical reference for manufacturing enterprises to build a highly adaptable and intelligent financial governance system
Brand Loyalty's Moderating Role Between Emotional Intelligence and Impulse Purchases: A Case Study in Turkey
Get PDFThis study aims to investigate the moderator role of brand loyalty in the relationship between emotional intelligence and impulse buying behavior. The sample of the study consists of consumers living in Turkey. Using the convenience sampling method, a survey was conducted with 956 people who shopped in the ready-to-wear department. Hypotheses were tested through SPSS and AMOS. The collected statistical data showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and impulse purchases, and that brand loyalty has a mediating role in this relationship. Although much research in the literature studies emotional intelligence and consumer behaviors in separate contexts, there is a limited number of studies that study them together. Thus, it is thought that this study will bring a new perspective to the literature

Get PDFUnder the background of integrated education, the adaptability of ideological and political education for college students with disabilities has become an important issue in promoting educational equity and comprehensive development of individuals. Currently, college students with disabilities generally face difficulties in adaptation in cognitive, emotional, behavioral and psychological levels, and the traditional education model is difficult to meet their special needs. Based on the reality, the study analyzes the multi-dimensional impacts of education content, teacher strength, campus environment and social support on adaptability, and puts forward systematic countermeasures centered on personalized education methods, specialized teacher training, and inclusive culture construction, aiming to break through the existing educational barriers and promote the real “integration” of disabled college students in ideological and value shaping. Metadiscourse Analysis on CEO-Speak in Public Interviews to Weather Company's Crisis
Get PDFPublic interview can serve as an effective means for companies to deal with crisis by answering the doubts and inquiries from the media and the public. With the United States increasing tariffs or other attacks on Chinese goods, more and more companies are facing a crisis. This paper focuses on the deployment of metadiscourse resources and their rhetorical features in almost 40 media’s interviews with a company’s CEO. Major findings are summarized as follows: (1) The CEO’s utterances are highly persuasive, in which self-mentions and transitions occur most frequently. (2) TheCEO pays more attention to the construction of credible appeals and affectiveappeals than rational sppeals. Rational appeals can be realized through transitions, code glosses, frame markers and endophoric markers; ethos through hedges, boosters, self-mentions and evidentials; affective appeals through engagement markers, attitude markers, hedges and self-mentions. Chinese calligraphy, a writing art using Chinese characters, has evolved with the development of Chinese character fonts, incorporating the wisdom, philosophy, humanistic spirit, and artistic aesthetics of the Chinese people. The research aims to address challenges in Chinese calligraphy, the proposed approach aims to enhance the engagement of new generations and expand the appeal of Chinese calligraphy through the incorporation of Zen and Chinese minimalism in the research. Data collection through questionnaires is crucial for understanding, and hypotheses are developed to understand how Chinese calligraphy can evolve to meet the needs of the evolving environment. The research results in a sustainable dynamic future for Chinese calligraphy, making it more dynamic and accessible in the modern context. A Study on the Anti-Feminist Tendencies in Chaucer's Portrayal of the Wife of Bath
Get PDFThis study picks The Wife of Bath's Prologue and The Wife of Bath's Tale from Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales as research objects. It analyzes the character of the Wife of Bath from two sides: feminism and anti-feminism. The results show the Wife of Bath's ways of speaking are still limited in the male-dominated discourse framework. Her so-called "feminist" features are actually a hidden compromise with patriarchal ideas. The article also looks into the anti-feminist trends shown in Chaucer's description of the Wife of Bath. It studies the social and cultural background of 14th-century England to find the ideological roots of his thoughts. Finally, it shows the Wife of Bath is a literary creation. Through this character, the male author expresses patriarchal thinking by using the strategy of "narrative transvestism"
On the Margins of TCM and Modern Medicine: Ethnomedical Healers Seeking Official Qualification Certification
Get PDFThis study focuses on ethnomedical healers in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China, and adopts the perspective of medical anthropology to examine, through field work, in-depth interview, and case study, institutional shortcomings and individual predicaments ethnomedical healers face in seeking the legal status for medical practice under the modern medicine and the “Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Specialist” systems. The current assessment system and ethnomedical practice are not aligned in terms of theoretical frameworks, diagnostic and treatment methods, and linguistic logic. Particularly, the systematic discrepancy between the knowledge system required by standardized examinations and ethnomedical healers’ experiential knowledge system has resulted in a large number of “skilled but uncertified” ethnomedical healers struggling to gain official recognition. This study aims to explore the possibility of institutional reform and the coexistence of diverse medical systems by probing into the institutional challenges facing ethnomedicine from the perspective of modern medicine
Research on Folk Sports to Improve Residents' Social Adaptation Ability in Ease of Relocation
Get PDFWhile improving the living conditions of residents, the relocation project also brings new challenges of cultural adaptation and social integration. This study takes folk sports as an entry point to explore the unique value and practical path in promoting the social adaptability of relocated residents. It is found that folk sports activities effectively alleviate the challenges of cultural rupture and reconstruction of social relations during the relocation process through multiple mechanisms such as cultural identity reconstruction, social capital accumulation and psychological adjustment. The study proposes four practical paths: hierarchical organization, cultural innovation, resource protection and activity promotion, which expand the social function of folk sports and provide practical references for the design of the cultural dimension of the resettlement policy
