There is an increase in the number of foreign students with disabilities in Japan every year, but little study has been done to concrete educational support. First, from the perspective of international students, their opinions on the support for foreign students with disabilities pointed out that in addition to support for each disability characteristic, there were some ideas that were conscious of their mother tongue and cultural background. Next, in the educational support of each country, a support framework that was conscious of multinational was constructed. In supporting foreign students with disabilities, it is important to be involved in keeping them from being isolated from society, and it is necessary to establish a flexible support system that allows them to respond in their native language and to introduce various learning styles according to each situation. This paper first clarifies the current status and issues of civic education in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, especially on “democracy” and its surrounding areas (active citizenship, etc.) by the following means. (1) Awareness survey of pupils/students and experts, (2) Analysis of textbook contents, (3) Class observations. Second, we will analyze the above results and try to organize the theory and present issues of civic education centered on the current “democracy” education in Vietnam. The analysis of civic education with a focus on “democracy” in this paper is that democracy is the core content of civic education, but the way it is spoken is so diverse that there are many problems. Clarifying these problems is extremely meaningful for the progress of civic education in Vietnam. In addition, this paper provides an opportunity to request a reexamination of the dissertation that has traditionally been a problem with “democracy” in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.departmental bulletin pape

A qualitative study of morphological reduction and phonological change in Japanese loanwords from English

    Get PDF
This is a morpho-phonological study of Japanese loanwords from English focusing on morphological reduction and phonetical change occurring during the borrowing process. When complex words are borrowed, some of the loanwords undergo morphological reduction (measuring cup → mezyaa kappu) or phonological change (baked potato → beekudo poteto). Our goal is to provide a qualitative overview of the morphological reduction and phonological change observed in Japanese loanwords from English, and to reveal several factors relating to the phenomena. I analyze Japanese loanwords whose English donor words contain the following suffixes : -ing, -ed, -s (PL), and -'s (POSS), and demonstrate that several phonological and morphological factors including the spelling interact with one another. The data also shows that more recent loanwords tend to retain donor morphology, as pointed out by Irwin (2011). It should be noted that the phonological analyses suggested in the previous studies on loanwords including -s (PL) do not sufficiently explain the phenomena as a whole and that further research on each factor is necessary to reveal the borrowing process.departmental bulletin pape

    Get PDF
In 2021, I released the CD “ ‘Umi Yukaba' Kiyoshi Nobutoki Songbook”, sung by alto singer Akiko Ogawa on my own piano. This two-disc set contains the title work “Umi Yukaba” and many songs composed by Kiyoshi Nobutoki, but the author especially recommends “Kikyorai no Ji”. This song is written for the famous poem of Chinese poet Tao Yuanming, but it is a long work with a length of 16 minutes, which is unusual for a single song. Therefore, this song is rarely played, and as far as the author knows, our CD is the first recording of “Kikyorai no Ji”. Kiyoshi Nobutoki has left many songs, but this song, which he published at the age of 63 in 1950, should be better known as his masterpiece. In this paper, the author analyze “Kikyorai no Ji” and clarify the characteristics and charm of this song.departmental bulletin pape
