Sandplay group for schoolteachers: problems and point to be improved for practical application
Get PDFThis research considered what should be improved to put the educational consultation training using Sandplay to practical application. 5 teachers of an education center participated in the sand play group, and they all did group Sandplay two times, and each did individual Sandplay one time. Compared to the previous group, the number of times and the duration of the group this time were less than half. As a result, as in the previous group, all participants gained some new perception about themselves and others, however, there was a limit in terms of deepening. As a new effect, the possibility of promoting interpersonal relationships in groups was found and this could be applied to groups of colleagues. Future tasks include devising variations of the appropriate number of times and contents according to the target participants and purpose, and how to train facilitators.departmental bulletin pape
“Shared Living Space” a collaborative design production by Japanese and US university students in an online space: An analysis and discussion of the production process and learner reflections
Get PDFThis study explores the collaborative process and outcomes of “Shared Living Space,” a virtual exchange project between Japanese and US university students, focusing on intercultural communication and collaborative art creation. The focal point of this paper is the research analysis and discussion of the participants' experiences and the effectiveness of the project setting. Coding analysis of the communicative process and learner reflections indicate that participants were generally satisfied with the final design of their group work, highlighting the potential of online spaces to foster shared experiences and memories that transcended cultural boundaries. The findings also reveal different group dynamics and strategies for fostering creativity, showcasing the importance of open communication and inclusive participation. The data suggest that such collaborative efforts not only enhance the skills and understanding of collaborative art creation but also facilitate meaningful intercultural communication, encouraging participants to navigate and negotiate differences constructively. This experience serves as a valuable insight for refining future intercultural collaborative projects.departmental bulletin pape
A Study on the Cross-curricular Guidance of Housing: Focusing on “Housing Safety” in the Housing Area of the Home Economics
Get PDFIn recent years, natural disasters have been occurring frequently, causing houses to collapse and other damage all across Japan. Safety and the surrounding environment are important considerations in choosing homes, which are the foundation supporting people’s daily lives. In order to be able to flexibly respond to disasters, we need to obtain knowledge about housing. Thus far, within school education, housing education has been conducted mainly through home economics classes. While home economics has played an important role in housing education, given that very few class hours are presently allocated to it in schools, it is difficult to secure enough time for housing education. Thus, we believe that learning through home economics classes alone does not allow for comprehensive housing education. We therefore aimed to reassess housing education from a crosscurricular perspective. First, we reviewed the curriculum guidelines and the contents of the relevant textbooks for each school subject. Challenges among Basic Physics Learners in Understanding Basic Properties of Waves: From Questionnaire Surveys and Lesson Practice
Get PDF高校では物理嫌いの生徒が比較的多く，物理が苦手な高校生でも物理の基本的な概念や見方・考え方を習得できるような物理教育の取組が求められる。本研究では，物理基礎を学ぶ高校１年生を対象に，物理の学習に対する意識調査および「波」に関する授業を実施し，この生徒の学習意識や内容理解度の実態を分析した。結果として，生徒の9割以上は物理が好きではなく，その第一の理由が公式（法則・原理）の成り立ちへの理解不足であることが明らかとなった。また，波長，振動数，周期，速さなどの波の基本的物理量間の関係性や，弦の振動の波長に対する理解度が比較的低いことが判明した。生徒が抱える課題を考慮して計画・実践した今回の授業を通して，波に対する生徒の理解度が着実に向上していることが確認された。このような授業実践は，物理が苦手な生徒が物理の基本的な概念や見方・考え方を学ぶために必要であると考えられる。Many high school students often dislike physics, and physics education are required to enable students who are not good at learning physics to acquire the basic concepts, views, and ideas of physics. In this study, we conducted surveys on students' attitudes toward physics learning and performed a lesson on waves for the 10th grade students studying Basic Physics, and then analyzed their actual attitudes and understandings. As a result, it was found that more than 90% of the students did not like physics and its primary reason was a lack of understanding of physical meanings of formulas describing physics laws and principles. In addition, the students were relatively poor at understanding the relationships between the basic physical quantities of waves such as wavelength, frequency, period, and speed. Moreover, the students were also relatively weak at understanding the wavelength of a string vibration. We confirmed that the students' understandings could be steadily improved throughout our lessons considering learning challenges among the students. Such lesson practice can be necessary for students who are not good at physics to persistently learn basic concepts, viewing and thinking ways of physics.departmental bulletin pape
Stress coping for students enrolled in a school for special needs with intellectual disabilities: Through the guidance of independent activities and daily life
Get PDF本研究においては，知肢併置特別支援学校での自立活動及び日常生活の指導における３つのストレスコーピングに係る実践での共通点や課題を整理し，特別支援学校におけるストレスコーピングの実践について考察した。生徒のストレスへの対処や心身のリラクセーション効果が期待できる用具や実践を用いたところ，社会的相互作用や活動への応答性が示唆された。今後の課題として，教育課程上，柔軟な指導形態の検討やストレス指標の活用などがあげられた。In this study, we examined the usefulness of stress coping in special-needs schools by organizing the commonalities and issues that emerged from three approaches to stress coping for students enrolled in special-needs schools with intellectual disabilities. Specifically, we investigated the use of fiber optics for students with physical disabilities, and the use of slime and progressive muscle relaxation for students with autism spectrum disorder. The results suggest the usefulness of the method in helping students cope with stress and relaxing their bodies and minds, improving joint attention, and making students more responsive to the next activity, as well as having positive effects on other activities. Future issues include the need to consider flexible teaching formats in the curriculum and the need for more information on the subject's stress indicators.departmental bulletin pape
A practical look at self-led child play and nursery school techniques: An example of simultaneous care for children of different ages using hand/finger play, eurythmics, children's songs, and more at nursery schools
Get PDF乳幼児期の子どもたちが持つ思いや能力を引き出し，主体性を育む保育の実践例として，保育所における手遊びやリトミック遊び，わらべ歌遊びを行った異年齢保育の事例を報告した。乳幼児期の子どもたちの潜在意識を引き出し，主体性を高める方法として，アクティブラーニングと子どもたちの「エンパワメント」の推進を意識した保育者による「しかけ」の有効性について検討した。アクティブラーニングと子どもたちのエンパワメントを意識した保育は，子どもたちの主体性を育むだけでなく，保育者もエンパワーされ，同僚性や専門性を高める契機となることが示された。In an example of self-led childcare where we effectively draw out the perceptions and abilities of toddler-age children, we compiled this report on simultaneous care for children of different ages using hand/finger play, eurythmics, children’s songs, and more at nursery schools. We examined the effectiveness of these specific techniques used by nursery school teachers with a view to activating the subconscious each and initiative of each child, and further to encourage active learning and empowering of these children. Early childhood education emphasizing active learning and empowerment of children not only encourages children to self-lead, but also empowers nursery school teachers. A study of building resilience through the relationship between school engagement and negative mind-wandering
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between “school engagement” and “negative mindwandering” for building resilience. In Study 1, we created a “school engagement scale”, “amygdala response scale”, and “negative mindwandering scale”, and examined the validity and reliability performance. Study 2 examined the relationship between school engagement, amygdala reactivity, and negative mind-wandering.
