EMPIRICAL DATA FOR EUROPEAN TRANSITION COUNTRIES ON THE LINK BETWEEN FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
This study uses market capitalization and the banking industry to examine the relationship between financial development and economic growth between 2000 and 2022. This research employs multiple approaches, including OLS, fixed and random effects, and Hausman-Taylor with instrumental variables. Our study provided well-specified results, demonstrating that financial development is statistically significant and positively affects real GDP per capita in European transition countries. Consequently, financial development has positive effects on real GDP per capita as well as being necessary to promote economic growth. According to the analysis, real GDP per capita growth is negatively impacted by both the financial crisis and total liabilities. These findings suggest that when these countries face financial turmoil, it impedes their ability to sustain economic expansion; likewise, higher levels of liquid liabilities are associated with a reduction in real GDP per capita. As a result, our methodology in European transition nations sheds new light on the link between financial development, financial crises, and real GDP per capita growth and provides significant insights for policymakers seeking a deeper understanding. The study is unique in that it aims to shed light on how financial development affects the growth of real GDP per capita in transitional European nations. Central banks and policymakers will find value in the study's conclusions. JEL: C23, G28, O16 Article visualizations

The purpose of this study is to explore the short and long-term impact of foreign and domestic investment and exports on economic growth in Morocco from 1990 to 2023. By integrating a comprehensive literature review with econometric modeling, this research utilizes Time Series Analysis and the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach, implemented via the R programming language, to examine the effects of foreign direct investment (FDI), domestic investment (DI), and exports (EX) on economic growth, as measured by real GDP per capita. The main findings of the study demonstrate the significant roles played by all three factors - FDI, DI, and EX - in driving Morocco's short- and long-term economic growth, contributing to stability and resilience against economic shocks. These findings underscore the substantial contributions of FDI, DI, and EX to Morocco's economic expansion and global competitiveness. The analysis concludes an optimistic forecast for Morocco's economic future, projecting significant GDP per capita growth driven by continued expansion in investments and exports. This study offers valuable insights for policymakers and investors, enriches the understanding of the economic dynamics in Morocco, and facilitates strategic decision-making for sustainable economic development. THE DIGITAL SHIFT: EVOLVING INSURANCE LANDSCAPE AND CONSUMER-CENTRIC DIGITALIZATION IN KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
This research aims to analyse the transformative impact of digital technologies on consumer behaviour in insurance shopping at XYZ Insurance. For confidentiality, the name of the insurance company is withheld. This study assesses the relationships between three independent variables (mobile application utilisation, digitalisation preferences, and digitalisation adaptation) and their influence on consumer behaviour. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was used as a theoretical framework to investigate how individuals participate in digital consumerism for insurance purposes. This quantitative study was undertaken using the stratified random sampling method. A total of 400 responses provided the data for this research. This study has uncovered the complex patterns behind consumers' behaviour when purchasing insurance through digital technology. This study reveals strong positive relationships between the independent variables and consumer behaviour. This highlights the fact that significant technical shifts are influencing the way consumers experience and feel satisfied with the insurance they buy. However, the research also identifies challenges like privacy concerns and the potential for option overload, which could limit the full potential of digitalization. Furthermore, this study provides empirical information that sparks academic debate and proposes ways to enhance digitalisation in the insurance industry. This gives novel insights for both scholars and practitioners. Moreover, this study addresses the current gaps in the literature and provides guidance to XYZ Insurance and similar companies on how to optimise their digital strategies to align with customer preferences. This is crucial for enhancing overall customer satisfaction and fostering loyalty among clients who use digital channels for insurance purchases. Article visualizations
THE MEDIATING ROLE OF MARKETING CAPABILITY AND INNOVATION CAPABILITY IN THE LINK BETWEEN STRATEGIC ORIENTATION DIMENSIONS AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE(IN THE CASE OF SELECTED MANUFACTURING COMPANIES OPERATING IN ETHIOPIA)
The purpose of this study is to determine the mediating role of Marketing and Innovation Capabilities in the link between Strategic Orientation dimensions and Business Performance. 385 questionnaires were distributed to CEOS, marketing managers & marketing experts, and brand managers, production managers, finance managers, IT specialists, research & development managers of 20 manufacturing firms and only 300 questionnaires were used for final analysis. After confirming that the CFA measurement models fulfill the GOF statistics, the discriminant validity analysis results show that the AVE values exceeded their respective square inter-construct correlations in several cases. Following Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to investigate the underlying theoretical structure of the phenomenon and Confirmatory Factors Analysis (CFA) measurement models that meet the Goodness-of-Fit (GoF) statistics, the discriminant validity analysis results show that the AVE values are more significant than their respective square inter-construct correlations in several cases. The reliability test for all seven constructs is above 0.7, which satisfies the recommended threshold in the literature. The statistical software utilized for data analysis in this study was PROCESS Macro 3.4.1 and SPSS 25. The study's findings revealed that all four dimensions of strategic orientation and marketing and innovation capabilities had a favorable and significant impact on business performance. Both marketing and innovation capabilities have mediated the relationship between strategic orientation components (MO, EO, TO, and KO) and business performance. This study concludes that focusing solely on strategic components is insufficient and that integrated organizational processes are required to attain truly outstanding business performance. The study discovered that greater marketing and innovation capabilities enhance business performance (both financial and marketing). As a result, manufacturing businesses should examine each component of strategic orientation independently - market, entrepreneurial, technological, and knowledge orientations - while assessing fundamental abilities, which include marketing and innovation capabilities. REMOTE REVOLUTION: UNRAVELLING EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION DRIVERS IN MALAYSIA’S BANKING SECTOR THROUGH ALDERFER’S ERG MODEL
This research investigates the influence of remote work on employee motivation in the context of the banks of Malaysia. The research employed Alderfer’s ERG theory, and the quantitative method was used. In relation to this, a survey with self-administered questions was distributed among employees of various banks to investigate whether remote work condition influences their motivation. A response rate of 78% with 313 participants was received. After the data analysis, it was revealed that remote conditions do influence motivation. Additionally, it was found that such aspects as teamwork, social interaction, and personal development opportunities are improved, leading to higher motivation of employees. Moreover, it was found that working conditions and career advancement positively influenced motivation, while well-being did not have a significant effect. This implies that motivation is mainly influenced by the issues of relatedness and growth. In such a way, the conclusion can be drawn that banks should consider improving their remote work conditions. The existing research adds to the literature, as it investigated how different aspects of remote work affect motivation, which may guide the implementation of human resources strategies in the banking sector. INFLUENCE OF CAPABILITIES FOR RESOURCE MOBILIZATION ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN ZAMBIA
This study examined the influence of resource mobilization capabilities on the performance of local authorities in Zambia, addressing a decade-long performance challenge despite various government interventions. Using a correlational research design with a sample of 736 employees from 116 local authorities, the study tested the hypothesis that there is no statistically significant influence of resource mobilization capabilities on the financial performance of local authorities. Data collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression revealed a significant positive relationship between capabilities for resource mobilization and local authorities' performance (B = 0.272, t = 6.516, p < .001), with the model explaining 63.7% of the performance variance. While local authorities demonstrated strengths in developing annual work plans, they struggled to provide all required public services. The study concludes that resource mobilization capabilities significantly influence local authorities' performance in Zambia and recommends enhancing resource mobilization strategies, improving service delivery capabilities, promoting knowledge sharing among local authorities, investing in technology-enabled systems for revenue collection and management, and implementing standardized performance management practices to address the identified performance gaps and improve overall public service delivery. AN EVALUATION OF THE EFFECT OF EXTERNAL DEBT ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SIERRA LEONE
The study sets out to determine whether external debt has a significant relationship with economic growth indices in Sierra Leone. An ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. Data on gross domestic product, external debt, capital expenditure, and exchange rate were obtained from the Bank of Sierra Leone Statistical Bulletin 2024 for the period 1993-2023. Ordinary Least Square Method of regression was used in which external debt was regressed on gross domestic product, capital expenditure, and exchange rate. A diagnostic test was done using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root test, as well as the co-integration and error correction method. Findings show that there is a positive relationship between external debt on one side and gross domestic product (GDP), exchange rate and capital expenditure. The findings imply that small external debt accumulation stimulates the economy, while huge debt has a negative impact. External debts were misappropriated, while debt servicing and repayment stifled infrastructural development. The study recommends, amongst other things, that external debt should be obtained when it is absolutely necessary and applied for productive ventures but not for social services, ensuring that the marginal productivity of the loan is greater than the interest incurred as a result of it. At the same time, the government should strengthen anti-corruption agencies to reduce embezzlements and misappropriations to the barest minimum by reviewing laws establishing them.
