Theoretical approach to study the electroclinic effect very near to the Smectic C* –Smectic A* transition point of FLC molecules
We propose a theoretical approach considering Landau type free energy expansion in order to understand the electroclinic effect appearing very close to the transition region between Smectic-C* to Smectic-A* phases. A new secondary order parameter is considered, and expressing it as the fluctuations of the applied field very close to the transition point, the capacitive nature of the system is addressed successfully at this very region. More over we have been able to show that the modulated Smectic-C* phase may be considered to be responsible for the origination of the electroclinic behavior
The Impossibility of Verse: Understanding Limited Research Engagement with Poetry
This study explores the lack of academic research on poetry among postgraduate learners by examining their perception, experience, and interaction with poetry through their educational years. Using semi-structured interviews, the study identifies factors influencing their engagement and research interest in poetry. Findings reveal that learners perceive poetry as laborious, a view often reinforced by mechanical and exam-oriented teaching methods in early education. This pedagogical approach, coupled with a sense of poetry being an inaccessible form, leads to reduced personal reading and a lack of confidence in the learners' own interpretation. At the university level, poetry is often sidelined in favour of more accessible literary forms and modes of analysis as a primary research option. This diminished engagement limits the emergence of research questions, contributing to a cycle where less reading results in less research, perpetuating the gap in poetry scholarship. The paper calls for pedagogical reform to foster genuine appreciation and encourage poetry as an area for academic inquiry.

Nigeria’s Criminal Justice System: Legal Gaps, Human Rights Concerns, and Comparative Lessons for Reform
Nigeria’s criminal justice system lacks adequate mental health provisions, leading to human rights violations and worsening psychiatric conditions among offenders. This study examines Nigeria’s compliance with international standards, particularly the Mandela Rules, using a descriptive research design. Based on the 2018 prison Audit Report, it examines mental health services, jail regulations, and legal protections. Structured oversight with respect to South Africa, the United States, and Canada has been highlighted through a comparative analysis. South Africa guarantees judicial oversight, whereas Canada’s NCRMD structure ensures rehabilitation. States in the US differ in how they balance treatment and incarceration. Nigeria, in contrast to South Africa and Canada, lacks formal evaluations and reintegration programs and instead depends on administrative discretion. This paper argues for a human rights-based strategy, including legislative safeguards, frequent psychiatric examinations, and rehabilitation programs. The protection of mentally ill offenders, public safety, and justice can all be enhanced by putting these ideas into practice. Nigeria's mental health legislation will advance if it conforms to international best practices
Use of Nanomedicine and the Ethico-Legal Challenges for the Indian Healthcare System
Nanotechnology has made a tremendous impact across a wide range of scientific fields. In recent years, the application of nanotechnology has significantly expanded, with one of its most notable applications being in the field of medicine, known as nanomedicine. The use of nanomedicine has made a revolutionary change in the diagnostics and treatment of major diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular problems. But, like any other technological advancement, the field of nanomedicine also confronts various ethical dilemmas concerning safety and toxicity. This paper addresses the ethical concerns in the application of nanomedicine. However, the major challenge regarding nanomedicine is in terms of its governance, because of its rapid advancement and multidisciplinary nature. In India, there is a lack of specific legislation governing nanomedicine. Consequently, due to its therapeutic nature, the existing legislation concerning pharmaceuticals regulates the aspects of nanomedicine. This paper aims to explore the diverse applications of nanotechnology in the healthcare sector and critically evaluate the efficiency and adequacy of existing legislation in regulating this innovative field
Green Trust and Environmental Concern's Influence on Gen Z's Organic Food Consumption: Exploring Consumption Value Dynamics
This study looks at how Consumption Values (CVs) affect Gen Z tourists' intentions to buy organic food. It also examines how Environmental Concerns (EC) act as a mediator and the moderating role of Green Trust (GT) in the relationship. The study analysed data from 550 Gen Z tourists using structural equation modelling (SEM) in SPSS 26 to investigate the links between CVs, EC, and OFPI. At the same time, moderation analysis was conducted through PROCESS Macro to examine the role of GT. The findings reveal that CVs significantly influence OFPI, with EC playing a mediating role and Green Trust (GT) influencing the strength of the relationship between EC and OFPI. The practical implications for marketers and policymakers include emphasising both the utilitarian and socio-emotional benefits of organic food consumption to engage Gen Z tourists effectively. Fostering Green Trust can further enhance sustainable behaviour, making it crucial for businesses to build trust around environmentally friendly practices. This research deepens the understanding of sustainable consumption behaviours and aids in developing models to guide future interventions promoting sustainable tourism choices
Separation Axioms Associated With Simple Digraphs and Topological Spaces
The main idea of this article is to define a fuzzy crisp set, intuitionistic crisp set and neutrosophic crisp set from simple digraphs. These sets have their own impact to generate the subbasis which in turn yields topological spaces. Moreover, an attempt has been made to extend our concept in induced subgraphs that lead us to relative topology. We have also formalized the structural equivalence of the isomorphic graphs and the topologies induced by them. A comparison between topologies has been made for some types of connected digraphs. Also, we have defined separation axioms on digraphs and related them to the topological separation axioms.
Applicability of plant part extracts of Sapindus species towards corrosion inhibition and related sectors - An overview
This review initiative had explored the applicability of the extract isolated from various plant parts of Sapindus (S.) species as the potential green corrosion inhibitor (GCI). Additionally, insights on topics like plant extracts in broad, concept of corrosion inhibition by the pool of biomolecules, use of (S.) species plant parts as the extract to retard corrosion of metals/alloys, composition of (S.) species extract, extraction techniques, etc were also covered. This article would form a platform to establish the present global status of (S.) species towards corrosion inhibition filed and related sectors (surfactant based). The favorable functional groups featuring in the biomolecules (having maximum hydrophilic part) along with the dominant inhibitor component (saponins) present in the (S.) extract had assisted the effective inhibition of corrosion in metals/alloys. This behavior of the extract (having the pool of biomolecules) can be attributed to various factors like superior adsorption, firm complexation and impermeable layer development over the surface of metal/alloy. This review initiative can promote the use of (S.) extract in commercial scale to retard the corrosion of various metals/alloys and hence can add financial angle for the cultivators
Kant and Heidegger on the freedom that eludes ‘the political’
By considering the transcendentalism of Kant and Heidegger as primarily oriented towards the concerns of practical philosophy, this paper explores some of the similarities in their notions of political community and their relation to freedom. It argues that, despite the differences in their philosophical registers, these similarities lead both of them to hold that ‘the political’ is a deficient mode of community. Certain transcendence of experience allows them both to change how a human being relates to another. Heidegger follows Kant’s lead in separating the concern of freedom from goodness and distances it even further from the means-ends reasoning by exiting the subject-object paradigm. The alternatives to the deficient political community, the kingdom of ends in Kant and the authentic community in Heidegger, too have potentially comparable facets. The paper concludes that their arguments leave an account of freedom that ‘must’ remain elusive for political action
