Destination Sustainability Certification: Analysing International Standards Through the Lens of GSTC Criteria

    No full text
Numerous certification standards have been developed as tools for the appraisal of sustainability and ensuring total quality management in destinations. These standards are widely adopted across various countries and have become a benchmark of destination performance. The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) is the apex organization responsible for designing global standards for destinations and tourism industry worldwide. Using the GSTC standard as a normative reference, many recognized and accredited certification bodies certify destinations and tourism businesses. With the growing number of standards and certification agencies available, destination boards face challenges in selecting the most appropriate certifier that aligns with their specific sustainable initiatives. This highlights the need for a comparative analysis of various standards, criteria and indicators of predominant certifiers. This study presents a detailed analysis of five major global certifiers whose full standards are publicly available. It aims to equip destination authorities with a comprehensive understanding of the various certification bodies to conduct self-assessments and determine how well they perform across various sustainability dimensions before choosing a certification program that best matches their sustainable initiatives and objectives

Rhyme Against Reason: On the Platonic Theory of Art

    No full text
In this essay, I trace the influence of Plato on the classical feud between rhyme and reason and investigate Socrates’ notion of divinity to sketch out his theory of art. I also draw a general outline of the metaphysics of poetry enfolding artistic inspiration. Finally, I evaluate the unsettled scores between philosophy and poetry

Technology Adaptation and Social Support affecting Workplace Resilience: IT Employees in Bangalore

    No full text
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of technological adaptation and social support on resilience at the workplace among IT employees in Bangalore. Employee resilience now depends on their ability to adjust to new technologies as they continue to change the workplace. Various factors, including support from supervisors, peers, and family, influence this adaptation process. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of technology adaptation and social support in producing resilience at the workplace and to provide a conceptual framework that will be used in future studies around this topic. For the study, few research tools were applied, they were correlation and linear regression analysis, it was conducted to evaluate the relationship between these variables. The findings revealed no significant correlation between technology adaptation and resilience, while family support was found to positively influence resilience. These results have more scope for further exploration of the complex dynamics between technology, social support, and resilience, providing effective information for organizations to implement change in a effective manner

    No full text
The online marketing develops not only in one country but globally. And there is a growth in the research on online marketing as well in the global level. This research aims to provide a global perspective regarding online marketing and consumer research, by identifying annual production, most productive authors, countries, institutions, journals and also Co-cited and bibliographically coupled authors, journals and documents. And to identify the future scope of research in online marketing and consumer. This research analysed 450 documents from the Scopus core collection from 1996 to 2023. The data analysis is conducted using Biblioshiny in R and VOS viewer. Results showed a growing trend in publishing of documents in the field of Analysis. The most productive author is Mackey TK, the most productive journal is Journal of research in interactive marketing. USA is the most productive region and University of California is the most productive Institution. The most important keywords are Online marketing, social media, social media marketing, consumer behaviour, e-commerce and others. The results also presented different networks of authors, documents and journals. Finally analysing the future research areas

Vanadium Carbide-Carbon Shells nanomaterial was synthesized using hydrothermal method with the help of several steps and also, nano alpha-aluminium oxide was synthesized using solid combustion synthesis process. Preparation of aluminium oxide/vanadium carbide-carbon shells composite was done through as aluminium oxide reinforced with 5 wt. % vanadium carbide-carbon shells. A platelet like structure was observed for vanadium carbide-carbon shell from the SEM images. The XRD graph of α-aluminium oxide was shown with sharp peak which indicates that the nanomaterial was crystalline and xrd graph of vanadium carbide-carbon shells show semi crystalline nature. The densities of the sintered samples were calculated and the percentage of densification achieved as compared to the theoretical value was obtained. The compressive strength of pure alumina sample achieved was 7.28 MPa. As observed from the graph, it can infer that the sample has very less compressive strength at the outer layer. The compressive strength of vanadium carbide reinforced alumina sample achieved was 12.57 Mpa. This shows a considerable increase in the compressive strength of the alumina matrix composite because of addition of 5 wt% vanadium carbide. It can be concluded that related to thermal stability, this material has the capability to maintain the largest possible temperature difference across its faces over a shorter duration without any deformations
