Organisation of Czech exile in Australia between 1948 and 1989
No full textThe communist coup in Czechoslovakia in 1948 produced a huge emigration wave to Western Europe, America and, rather surprisingly, Australia. Based upon yet not studied sources from Czech and Australian archives and libraries, the article examines the organisational platforms of Czech exile in Australian cities and regions, the disputes within its central body (Ústředí československých demokratických organizací v Austrálii a na Novém Zélandu) and the disharmony between post-February and post-August refugees over activities and the ultimate goals of exile movement.The communist coup in Czechoslovakia in 1948 produced a huge emigration wave to Western Europe, America and, rather surprisingly, Australia. A properly designed web application must be ready to adapt its appearance by target devices automatically. Any user should not be limited by resolution or display size and the web content should be accessible and understadable well

Eugene O’Neill’s The Emperor Jones: An Overview of White Imprints and Desire
No full textEugene O’Neill’s The Emperor Jones (1920) is the first ever projection of a black protagonist on Broadway who carries the imprints of white ideals. While the playwright presents the title character Brutus Jones as a kleptocrat, he seems to corroborate the fact that the streetwise black Jones’ growing up in New York has a lot to do with his rule as a despot on the island. This paper explores O’Neill’s projection of the American mercantile psyche as seen on the island’s experience of colonial capitalism and the enactment of original sin in America by a journey through Brutus’ personal and racial memory lanes. This article also investigates to what extent Jones is a by-product of the American capitalist system which considers greed as good and money as the bottom line of success
Ignorance Is Strength: Kazuo Ishiguro’s and Graham Swift’s Argument against Knowledge
No full textThis article discusses the opposition of knowledge and ignorance in Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go and Graham Swift’s Shuttlecock. While the protagonists of both novels seek knowledge, the value of knowledge is ultimately challenged. The article argues that, despite their tendency to show the pitfalls of insufficient knowledge in their stories, in these two novels Ishiguro and Shift make a case for the ethical benefits of ignorance

Author presents the evolution of the problem of autonomy and independence of Slovakia and its place in the politics of neighbouring countries with particular emphasis on Polish politics. The article shows the reasons of the anti-Polish Slovak politics in 1939.This article deals with Slovakia in 1938–1939 in an international context as an object of diplomatic issues between Poland, the Third Reich and Hungary. No full textKriminální jevy v logistických centrech jsou aktuálně fenoménem, který ovlivňuje většinu podniků v daném oboru. Aktuální údaje poukazují na trend zvyšování počtu evidovaných kriminálních jevů z hlediska absolutního vyjádření. Celkový objem inventurních diferencí v posledním desetiletí vykazuje trend postupného snižování. Management logistických center poslední dobou přijímá různá opatření k efektivnímu řízení procesů, zejména pak opatření vedoucí ke snižování dopadů kriminálních aktivit. Proces efektivního řízení složek lidského kapitálu ve vazbě na vznik kriminálních jevů je nutné kontinuálně řídit. Následně mohou být přijata konkrétní opatření, která budou efektivní pro daný konkrétní podnik (logistické centrum).Criminal cases in logistic centers are currently phenomenon that affects most companies in the industry. Actual data indicate a trend of increasing the number of registered criminal cases in absolute terms. The total volume of inventory differences in the last decade shows a trend of gradual decrease. Management of logistic centers adopt various measures to efficient processes control, especially measures to reduce the impact of criminal activities. The process of effective control of human capital in connection with the creation of criminal phenomena, it is necessary to continuously control. Following this can take specific measures that will be effective for that particular company (logistic center)
