    No full text
Doprava je klíčovým prvkem, který umožňuje plnění několika cílů udržitelného rozvoje. Výrazně přispívá k cílům udržitelného rozvoje v oblasti hospodářského rozvoje, průmyslu a malých a středních podniků a také obchodu a investic. It contributes strongly to the SDGs regarding economic development, industry and SMEs, as well as trade and investment. Consequently, it also helps achieve the SDGs that aim to promote employment and well-being, and to reduce inequalities and exclusion. Meanwhile, transport presents many challenges with respect to the SDGs, such as the need to reduce climate and environmental impacts, to improve transport systems and traffic safety, and to manage concerns related to jobs and decent work. The goal of this paperis to provide analysis of aspects of sustainable development in relation to transport in terms of fulfillment of selected goals of Agenda 2030. Presented contribution is part of solution of Project Vega č. 1/030218 „Smart cities as a possibility for implementation of the concept of sustainable urban development in the SlovakRepublic“

John of Nepomuk in Lutheran Dresden: The Reconversion of the House of Wettins and the Role of the Czech Patron Saint in the First Half of the 18th Century

The aim of the study is to present the use of the popularity of John of Nepomuk at the time when he was newly proclaimed saint (1729), especially in the communication strategies of the Catholic and Lutheran clergy and ultimately in shaping the image of the royal representation through demonstrated relationships between the recatholized Wettins and the Habsburg imperial family. What is important here is not merely evidence supported by examples, but above all the imagination associated with them. Women\u27s Forced Labor in the Bohemian Lands 1939–1945

    No full text
Forced labor was one of the fundamental pillars of the German war economy. It has affected the lives of millions of people – both men and women – in Germany, in the occupied territories and in satellite states. However, research has so far taken special note of the role and position of women in the forced labor system. This system, on the one hand, used the female workforce in the same way as the male, but on the other hand, it had some gender-specific characteristics (women were forced to prostitution in camp brothels, pregnancy, maternity). This study aims to analyse the current state of research, to specify the terminology used in relation to female forced labor, to classify it and to define its specifics in the territory of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Imperial County Sudetenland.Forced labor was one of the fundamental pillars of the German war economy. ASSESSMENT OF STRENGTH CHARACTERISTICS OF LNG TANKS ON THE VESSELS

Inland water transport has clearly bent on the use of dual-fuel systems diesel - LNG. The wider use of this fuel in transport is preceded by the need to create a functioning market with the closest connection to solving many logistical problems not only within the region but also in terms of production regions as well as the physical properties of LNG related to its long-range transport. The current legislation on the transport of dangerous goods (ADN) allows the use of LNG tankers equipped with special containers - cryogenic storage tanks for the transport of LNG by inland waterways. Similar tanks can also be used for long-term storage at central terminals. Although this technology is not new, its application to inland vessels is on very low level. When constructing and placing tanks on existing vessels, it is necessary to seek compromises taking into account both the shape of the tank and the amount of stored gas, as well as the insulation and strength characteristics

V súčasných podmienkach majú prehľad len o vlastnej stanici a priľahlých medzistaničných úsekoch. Pripravovaná aplikácia umožňuje získať prehľad nielen v najbližšom okolí vlastnej stanice, ale aj vo vybraných traťových úsekoch podľa voľby každého používateľa.Operational management of rail transport requires high-quality information support. All operational decisions are linked to information that is available to all competent persons and can work for them. The paper represents a new application in the conditions of the Infrastructure Manager (ŽSR), which is primarily intended for station dispatchers. Nowadays, they have overview only on their station and adjacent intersections. The prepared application allows you to get an overview not only in the vicinity of your own station but also in the selected route sections at the discretion of each user

    No full text
The paper describes the problematice of a freight transport supply chain choice taking account the utility. The utility function is mostly calculated from the container transport statistics. Container transport refers to the transportation of goods in standardized re-sealable transportation boxes by rail and sea. The utility theory is mostly connected with the consumer and consumption theory. When thinking of transport services, demand (consumer) and suppliers influence the decision making process of transport. Three key factors are identified: environmental efficiency, timeand transportation capacit

Railway transport and its reforms are currently a much-debated topic. The state began to realize the importance of rail transport and began to address operationally the issue of rail transport, which was underestimated in the past and began to decline as a result of the expansion of road transport. Creating a competitive environment is one of the basic aspects of the efficient functioning of rail transport. The main aim of the paper is to analyze three selected railway companies providing public passenger transport on the Košice - Prague route in both directions on the basis of a comparison using the method of measuring the quality of services according to customer satisfaction (SERVQUAL). For the analysis, I chose three railway companies, namely Regiojet, Plc, Leo Express, Plc. Železniční společnost Slovensko, Plc. The result of the paper is to find out which of the examined companies is the most advantageous in terms of transport on the way Košice - Prague based on the quality of services provided

    Shakespearean Adaptations for Young Adults

    No full text
Shakespeare’s plays are undoubtedly among the most frequently translated, staged, adapted—both for stage and screen—and (over/mis)quoted. His plays and sonnets are widely read and are generally considered canonical, with their appeal crossing thematic, geographical and chronological boundaries. Each generation of recipients responds to Shakespeare’s work in a different way. The present paper discusses Shakespearean adaptations which aim to encourage young recipients to engage with Shakespeare through the use of young people’s language. First, the article examines how emoticons, textual portrayals and hashtags are used to render Shakespeare’s plays in new ways. The OMG Shakespeare series, which has been both criticized and praised, represents a transformation of Shakespeare’s plays into new forms, e.g. srsly Hamlet (Courtney Carbone, 2015), YOLO Juliet (Brett Wright, 2015), Macbeth #killingit (Courtney Carbone, 2016), and A Midsummer Night #nofilter (Brett Wright, 2016). In addition, attention will be devoted to the representations of and allusions to Shakespeare and Shakespeare’s characters in popular culture. The paper concludes by discussing how new, non-traditional interpretative choices may impact the reception of Shakespeare and his work on younger audiences

Life Path of Therese Dalberg (1866–1893) to Recovery. Pilgrimage to Lourdes in France

    No full text
In the year 2017, the authors of this article published a book called The Life and Works of Therese Dalberg. The Noble Poetess from the Castle of Dačice where they captured the life of this young noblewoman. Unfortunately, they were not able to find out the cause of her death and so Therese\u27s fight against the illness was still shrouded in mystery. However, the presented article should uncover some of unanswered questions related to Therese’s path to recovery, including her stays in various European spas, mainly in Lourdes in France. Most of Therese\u27s life was connected with unending pain, paralysing her body, and seeking solace in God, giving her hope for recovery. Not only Therese, but also the whole family of Dalberg put hope in a pilgrimage place in Lourdes, where Therese travelled with her sisters. This unique pilgrimage became inseparable part of lthe whole family\u27s life. Therefore it is described in detail in this study. Sadly, in spite of all the effort, Therese’s life could not be saved and she passed away before her 27th birthday in 1893.In the year 2017, the authors of this article published a book called The Life and Works of Therese Dalberg.
