    ILO (INTERNATIONAL LABOR ORGANIZATION) ACTIVITIES UPHOLDING WORKERS\u27 RIGHTS IN BANGLADESH AFTER THE RANA PLAZA TRAGEDY

    This research identifies ILO activities in enforcing the rights of workers in Bangladesh post the Rana Plaza Tragedy in 2013. The Rana Plaza tragedy, which led to the deaths of more than 1,100 garment workers, most of whom were women, exposed poor working conditions and widespread human rights violations in the sector. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods, through collecting secondary data from ILO reports, academic journals, and news about related parties. This research was analyzed using the role theory of international organizations. The research results show that the ILO plays a significant role in promoting improvements in occupational safety and health standards through activities and various other initiatives. The ILO is also active in advocating for the rights of workers, including efforts to ensure safety, job security, and reduce gender discrimination in the workplace. In conclusion, although the ILO has made a positive contribution to improving working conditions and rights of workers in Bangladesh following the Rana Plaza tragedy, the sustainability and effectiveness of this initiative is dependent on the commitment of all stakeholders in overcoming existing structural and cultural barriers

    Analisis Risiko Pada UMKM Hobby Donut & Bakery Menggunakan Metode Business Impact Analysis (BIA)

    MSMEs in the culinary field such as Hobby Donut & Bakery face various risks that can disrupt business continuity, ranging from operational risks, product quality, to disruptions in key equipment. This research aims to identify and analyze the main risks faced by Hobby Donut & Bakery and evaluate their impact on financial, operational, reputational, and legal aspects. The method used is business impact analysis with a qualitative approach through observation and structured interviews with business owners. The results showed that oven damage and product quality failure were the risks with the greatest impact, potentially causing significant financial losses, reputational decline, and operational disruption. In addition, the risks of late delivery and payment constraints were also found but with lower impact. The conclusion of this study confirms the importance of implementing mitigation strategies that focus on equipment maintenance and product quality monitoring, as well as the need to improve human resource competencies to minimize risks and maintain business sustainability.UMKM di bidang kuliner seperti Hobby Donut & Bakery menghadapi berbagai risiko yang dapat mengganggu kelangsungan usaha, mulai dari risiko operasional, kualitas produk, hingga gangguan pada peralatan utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis risiko utama yang dihadapi oleh Hobby Donut & Bakery serta mengevaluasi dampaknya terhadap aspek keuangan, operasional, reputasi, dan hukum. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis dampak bisnis dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi dan wawancara terstruktur kepada pemilik usaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kerusakan oven dan kegagalan kualitas produk merupakan risiko dengan dampak paling besar, berpotensi menyebabkan kerugian finansial, penurunan reputasi, dan gangguan operasional yang signifikan. Selain itu, risiko keterlambatan pengantaran dan kendala pembayaran juga ditemukan namun berdampak lebih rendah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan strategi mitigasi yang terfokus pada perawatan peralatan dan pengawasan kualitas produk, serta perlunya peningkatan kompetensi sumber daya manusia untuk meminimalkan risiko dan menjaga keberlanjutan usaha

    RISK IDENTIFICATION AND ASSESSMENT AT CYR CAKE BALIKPAPAN SMES USING THE HAZOP METHOD

    This research aims to recognize and evaluate the risks faced by UMKM Cyr Cake Balikpapan using Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) method. The risk management approach is carried out systematically through identification, analysis, evaluation, and mitigation steps covering operational, financial, marketing, distribution, and licensing aspects. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with business owners, then analyzed using business impact analysis, HAZOP, and risk maps to illustrate the company\u27s risk position. The results showed that the highest risk was the inability to handle large orders due to limited labor and production capacity, which could potentially cause delays and customer dissatisfaction. Other risks with moderate levels include rising raw material prices, intense market competition, delivery delays, and licensing issues. Mitigation recommendations include adding spare labor, diversifying suppliers, developing digital marketing strategies, setting delivery schedules, and fulfilling and updating licensing documents. The implementation of structured risk management is expected to increase the resilience and sustainability of Cyr Cake SMEs in facing market dynamics and maintaining customer trust. This research provides a practical contribution to the risk management of culinary SMEs in Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengenali dan mengevaluasi risiko yang dihadapi UMKM Cyr Cake Balikpapan dengan metode Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP). Pendekatan manajemen risiko dilakukan secara sistematis melalui langkah-langkah identifikasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan mitigasi yang mencakup aspek operasional, keuangan, pemasaran, distribusi, dan perizinan. Data dikumpulkan lewat wawancara mendalam dengan pemilik usaha, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan business impact analysis, HAZOP, dan peta risiko untuk menggambarkan posisi risiko yang dimiliki perusahaan. Hasilnya menunjukkan risiko tertinggi ada pada ketidakmampuan menangani pesanan besar karena keterbatasan tenaga kerja dan kapasitas produksi, yang berpotensi menyebabkan keterlambatan dan ketidakpuasan pelanggan. Risiko lain dengan tingkat sedang meliputi kenaikan harga bahan baku, persaingan pasar yang ketat, keterlambatan pengiriman, dan masalah perizinan. Rekomendasi mitigasi meliputi penambahan tenaga kerja cadangan, diversifikasi pemasok, pengembangan strategi pemasaran digital, pengaturan jadwal pengiriman, serta pemenuhan dan pembaruan dokumen perizinan. Penerapan manajemen risiko yang terstruktur ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan ketahanan dan keberlanjutan UMKM Cyr Cake dalam menghadapi dinamika pasar serta menjaga kepercayaan pelanggan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis dalam pengelolaan risiko UMKM kuliner di Indonesia

    THE INFLUENCE OF NON-PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT AND COMPETENCE ON EMPLOYEE TURNOVER INTENTION PT. HEXING TECHNOLOGY

    This study aims to investigate the impact of invisible work environment and skills on employees\u27 intention to change jobs at PT Hexing Technology. Utilizing a quantitative approach on 50 participants through a survey, information was processed using SPSS version 30. The results showed that neither the non-physical workplace situation nor skills had a significant influence on the intention to change careers. The non-physical work environment had a negative impact, while competencies had a positive impact, but both had no significant effect. Overall, the two variables only contributed 1.3% to the intention to change jobs, while 98.7% was influenced by other factors not studied. The study concluded that the non-physical work environment and competence are not the main factors causing intention to change jobs. It is recommended that companies evaluate other factors such as reward policies, career opportunities, and job satisfaction. This study also provides an opportunity for further research with more appropriate variables.   Keywords: Non-physical work environment, competence, employee turnover intention

    Development of Fotar (Photosynthesis Augmented Reality) Learning Media to Improve Science Literacy Skills in Elementary School Students

    Science literacy is crucial in 21st-century education but remains low among Indonesian elementary students due to ineffective teaching methods and unengaging media. This study developed and evaluated FotAR (Photosynthesis Augmented Reality), an AR-based learning media designed to enhance science literacy in elementary students. Conducted at SDN Baru 06 Pagi, East Jakarta, the research used the Borg and Gall R&D model. Data collection methods included expert assessments, the use of questionnaires, and administration of pre- and post-tests. Results showed high feasibility with scores of 97.5% from media experts and 89.5% from content experts. Student and teacher responses were also very positive, with practicality ratings of 98% and 80%, respectively. A gain score of 0.72 indicated significant improvement in learning outcomes. The findings suggest that FotAR effectively supports students\u27 understanding of photosynthesis and improves their engagement and scientific thinking. This study concludes that AR-based learning media can be a powerful tool to enhance science literacy in elementary education.

    This study reports the design of an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) speaking syllabus tailored for mechanical engineering students in a polytechnic setting. Using a mixed-method approach, present situation and target situation analyses were conducted with 11 fourth-semester students through questionnaires and interviews. Findings revealed that while students could manage basic self-introductions, they lacked competence in higher-order interactional skills and engineering-specific oral tasks, such as explaining diagrams or giving instructions. Target-situation data highlighted the need for English in job interviews, meetings, and communication with foreign clients. Based on these results, a hybrid syllabus combining situational and topical approaches was developed, incorporating authentic materials, task-based sequencing, and simulation-based assessments. The syllabus prioritizes high-frequency workplace communication while gradually integrating technical explanatory skills, aiming to enhance both employability and professional competence

    English language is acknowledged as a foreign language in Indonesia. Since the nation’s independence, it has been taught in secondary and tertiary education levels and later on, even in primary level, due to increasing demand of the skills in international communication. It was believed that the sooner the language is introduced, the better. Globalization that reduced country borders and gave way to interconnectedness has given more opportunities to the people in the global world, provided that they have English language skill proficiency. How has Indonesia prepared its students in the mastery of the language and how is the teaching of the language in Indonesia? Indonesian  secondary and tertiary education institutions need competent teachers  to help the students learn the language. This paper will therefore discuss, with the status of English language in Indonesia, how does Indonesia prepare the students for the globalization, in terms of language teaching and because Indonesia is a large country, with a massive number of secondary and tertiary education institutions, how collaboration and innovation in language teaching play important roles in strengthening English language teaching in Indonesia, especially as the country seeks to prepare students for global competitiveness

    ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN SIMPANGAN STRUKTUR BAJA PASAR RAKYAT BANYUASRI DI BULELENG PADA MODEL DENGAN DAN TANPA BASEMENT

    Development in Indonesia is currently experiencing very rapid development, with the development of technology in the construction sector, to meet the aesthetic aspects of buildings and due to limited land, it is planned that building construction will be multi-storey. In the planning and design of multi-storey buildings, the decision to include or not include a basement has significant implications for the structural behavior of the building, particularly in relation to lateral drift and overall stability. Lateral drift, or horizontal shift between levels, is a crucial parameter in ensuring the comfort and structural integrity of buildings when facing lateral loads such as earthquakes. Comparative analysis between these two models is important to understand the influence of the presence of a basement on the dynamic response of a building. The main focus is to evaluate the extent to which the presence of a basement influences the lateral stiffness and dynamic response of the building. Analysis shows that the drift value produced by the model without basement is smaller than the model with basement. Namely, the maximum value for the model without a basement is 17.3 mm and the model with a basement has a maximum value of 29.1 mm with a clearance of 54.6 mm on the 3rd floor in the x direction and in the Y direction. The maximum value for the model without a basement is 25.4 mm and the model with a basement has a maximum value of 43.6 mm with a clearance of 54.6 on the 3rd floor. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it shows that both models have met the earthquake resistance requirements such as base force. seismic, permissible deviations between floors, capital, and mass inclusions. Dalam perencanaan gedung bertingkat, keputusan untuk menyertakan atau tidak basement memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap perilaku struktural, khususnya simpangan lateral dan stabilitas keseluruhan. Simpangan lateral, atau pergeseran horizontal antar lantai, merupakan parameter krusial dalam memastikan kenyamanan dan integritas struktural bangunan saat menghadapi beban lateral seperti gempa. Analisis perbandingan antara kedua model ini penting untuk memahami pengaruh basement terhadap respons dinamis bangunan. Fokus utama adalah mengevaluasi sejauh mana keberadaan basement mempengaruhi kekakuan lateral dan respons dinamis bangunan. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan software ETABS. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai simpangan yang dihasilkan oleh model tanpa basement lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan model dengan basement. Nilai simpangan maksimum pada model tanpa basement adalah 17,3 mm, sedangkan pada model dengan basement mencapai 29,1 mm pada lantai 3 arah x dengan batas izin 54,6 mm. Pada arah y, nilai simpangan maksimum model tanpa basement adalah 25,4 mm, dan model dengan basement mencapai 43,6 mm dengan batas izin 54,6 mm.     ABSTRACT Indonesia has a natural wealth that is quite suitable for producing electricity. At present, this country is very dependent on energy sources to diesel, gas and coal to run geothermal power facilities. However, because of the favorable equatorial position, Indonesia accepts the entry of consistent sunlight throughout the year, positioning it is better to utilize solar energy. In addition, a profitable wind pattern and regular rainfall in this country provide further opportunities for the construction of solar, wind and water power plants (PLTS, PLTB, and PLTPH). Considering the community\u27s need for electrical energy is increasing and the distribution of electricity has not been evenly distributed to all regions, this hybrid system power plant will greatly help the community if this hybrid system can be applied directly. This study aims to develop hybrid power generation simulations, offering alternative energy solutions through the integration of three different types of generators: Photvoltaic (PV), Micro-hydro power (MHP), and conventional generators. This hybrid regulation uses a series of coordinated systems involved to improve the efficiency of production and power distribution. In this study the voltage results were 134.01 V and a current of 0.029 A for an 8 watt load, for a load of 18 watts of 132.58 V with a current of 0.056 A and for a load of 23 watt of 131.49 watts with a current of 0.0781 A.            ABSTRAK Indonesia memiliki kekayaan alami yang cukup cocok untuk menghasilkan listrik. Saat ini, negara ini sangat bergantung pada sumber energi hingga seperti diesel, gas, dan batubara untuk menjalankan fasilitas tenaga panas bumi. Namun demikian, karena posisi khatulistiwa yang menguntungkan, Indonesia menerima masuknya sinar matahari sepanjang tahun yang konsisten, memposisikannya lebih baik untuk memanfaatkan energi matahari. Selain itu, pola angin yang menguntungkan dan curah hujan yang teratur di negara ini memberikan peluang lebih lanjut untuk pembangunan pembangkit listrik tenaga surya, angin, dan air (PLTS, PLTB, dan PLTPH) . Mengingat kebutuhan masyarakat akan energi listrik semakin meningkat serta penyaluran listrik belum merata ke suluruh daerah maka pembangkit listrik sistem hybrid ini akan sangat membantu masyarakat bila sistem hybrid ini dapat diterapkan secara langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan simulasi pembangkit listrik hibrida, menawarkan solusi energi alternatif melalui integrasi tiga jenis generator yang berbeda: fotovoltaik (PV), daya mikro-hydro (MHP), dan generator konvensional. Pengaturan hibrida ini menggunakan serangkaian sistem terkoordinasi yang dilibatkan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan distribusi daya.     Perencanaan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) on-grid dengan kapasitas total 1.885 Wp menggunakan perangkat lunak PVSYST menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini mampu menghasilkan energi bersih sebesar 2.567 kWh per tahun. Sistem ini memberikan penghematan energi tahunan sebesar 33,83%, yaitu dari konsumsi awal sebesar 7.586 kWh menjadi 5.019 kWh. Dari sisi finansial, hal ini menghasilkan penghematan biaya listrik sebesar Rp 3.708.545 per tahun. Analisis kelayakan ekonomi menunjukkan bahwa investasi awal yang dibutuhkan untuk instalasi PLTS ini adalah sebesar Rp 26.740.662, dengan biaya operasional dan pemeliharaan tahunan sebesar Rp 3.010.803. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa proyek ini memiliki Net Present Value (NPV) positif sebesar Rp 18.799.027, nilai Profitability Index (PI) sebesar 1,7 (lebih dari 1), serta Discounted Payback Period (DPP) selama 10,6 tahun, yang lebih singkat dibandingkan masa operasional proyek selama 25 tahun. Selain itu, titik impas (Break Even Point) dicapai pada tahun ke-8.
