“Mistakes help us improve”: Beliefs of high school students on English language learning
This study examines high school students\u27 beliefs about studying English, particularly their perceptions of language intelligence, aptitude, and age sensitivity in language learning. A total of 87 Year 12 students from a boys\u27 school in Northeastern Thailand voluntarily participated in a pre- and post-intervention online language mindset questionnaire adapted from Lou and Noels\u27 Language Mindset Inventory and wrote a reflective journal to capture their insights on English language learning. The intervention, the Language Mindset Toolkit, was a structured program designed to promote a growth mindset in language learning through six sessions primarily conducted in English with Thai subtitles. The quantitative results indicated that students maintained strong growth-oriented beliefs regarding language intelligence and aptitude, with only minor and statistically insignificant changes after the intervention. However, beliefs about age sensitivity in language learning declined, suggesting that students became more aware of potential challenges in learning languages at different life stages. Despite minimal quantitative shifts, qualitative findings revealed that students valued encouragement, self-efficacy, and the role of mistakes in learning. Many students reported increased confidence and motivation, reinforcing that growth mindset principles contribute to resilience and engagement in language learning. The study highlights the need to continuously reinforce growth mindset principles through instructional practices and teacher feedback. Future research should explore long-term interventions and contextual factors that influence students’ language mindset development, particularly in multilingual educational settings where language learning challenges vary widely
A Integrasi Budaya Patita Dan PAK Untuk Membangun Perdamaian Pasca Konflik Horale-Saleman
Konflik sosial antara masyarakat desa Horale dan desa Saleman Maluku Tengah pada tahun 2008 telah menyebabkan keretakan sosial di antara mereka, yang ditunjukkan dengan memudarnya ikatan-ikatan kekerabatan dan kepercayaan satu sama lain. Situasi ini membutuhkan pemulihan sehingga di antara masyarakat kedua desa tersebut terjadi perdamaian yang sesungguhnya. Perdamaian ini dapat dimungkinkan melalui peran pendidikan agama Kristen yang melibatkan kearifan lokal tradisi Patita. Karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan model pendidikan melalui integrasi tradisi Patita ke dalam pendidikan agama Kristen untuk membangun perdamaian dalam konteks paska konflik desa Horale dan desa Saleman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah pendidikan agama Kristen yang terintegrasi dengan budaya Patita dapat berfungsi untuk membangun perdamaian dalam konteks pasca konflik Horale-Saleman. Integrasi budaya Patita dalam pendidikan agama Kristen dapat diwujudkan melalui pengembangan konsep makan bersama yang bermakna spiritual; menetapkan tujuan makan bersama yang berfokus pada perdamaian; melaksanakan kegiatan makan bersama secara rutin yang bersifat multikultural dan terbuka untuk berbagi cerita dan pengalaman; melaksanakan kegiatan sosial kolaboratif untuk memberi makan orang-orang yang membutuhkan dengan memasak bersama dan berbagi bersama.Konflik sosial antara masyarakat desa Horale dan desa Saleman Maluku Tengah pada tahun 2008 telah menyebabkan keretakan sosial di antara mereka, yang ditunjukkan dengan memudarnya ikatan-ikatan kekerabatan dan kepercayaan satu sama lain. PERBANDINGAN ANTARA SRPMK DAN SISTEM GANDA PADA GEDUNG RUMAH SAKIT GIGI MULUT UNIVERSITAS UDAYANA
Bali is one of the provinces that are destinations for foreign and domestic tourists. This causes Bali to follow developments in several sectors, one of which is the construction sector. Of course, every building in Bali must guarantee its safety and comfort. Especially in infrastructure buildings, the security of which must be guaranteed because it involves the safety of many people inside. For example, hospital buildings included in risk category IV need to pay attention to their deviations. For example, in the Udayana University oral dental hospital building which was previously planned using SRPMK, the design deviation value met the requirements or did not exceed the permit deviation. This oral dental hospital building will be re-planned using a dual system. So these two structural systems are chosen for comparison regarding the deviation values between the two to provide information regarding which structural system is more optimal. In this writing, the analysis shows that the deviation value produced by the dual system is smaller than the special moment resisting frame system. Namely, with a maximum value of the double system of 8.96 mm and SRPMK with a maximum value of 21.696 mm with a clearance of 30.77 mm on the 2nd floor in the x direction and in the Y direction the maximum value of the double system is 12.60mm and SRPMK with the The maximum value is 20.07 mm with a permit of 26.92 mm on the 3rd floor.Bali adalah salah satu provinsi yang menjadi tujuan wisata mancanegara dan domestik. Hal ini menyebabkan Bali harus mengikuti perkembangan di beberapa sektor, salah satunya sektor konstruksi. Tentunya setiap bangunan yang ada di Bali haruslah dijamin keamanannya dan juga kenyamanannya. Terutama pada bangunan infrastruktur, yang tentunya harus dijamin keamanannya karena menyangkut keselamatan banyak orang di dalamnya. Seperti bangunan rumah sakit yang termasuk dalam kategori resiko IV yang perlu diperhatikan terkait dengan simpangannya. Seperti pada gedung rumah sakit gigi mulut universitas udayana yang sebelumnya direncanakan dengan menggunakan SRPMK yang memperoleh nilai simpangan desain sudah memenuhi syarat atau tidak melebihi simpangan ijin. Gedung rumah sakit gigi mulut ini akan direncanakan ulang dengan menggunakan sistem ganda Sehingga kedua sistem struktur ini dipilih untuk dilakukan perbandingan terkait nilai simpangan diantara keduanya untuk memberikan informasi terkait sistem struktur mana yang lebih optimal. Pada penulisan kali ini analisis menunjukan bahwa nilai simpangan yang dihasilkan oleh sistem ganda lebih kecil dari sistem rangka pemikul momen khusus. Yakni dengan besaran nilai maksimum sistem ganda sebesar 8,96 mm dan SRPMK dengan besaran nilai maksimum sebesar 21,696 mm dengan ijin 30,77 mm pada lantai 2 di arah x dan di arah Y besaran nilai maksimum sistem ganda sebesar 12,60mm dan SRPMK dengan besaran nilai maksimum sebesar 20,07 mm dengan ijin 26,92 mm pada lantai 3
EVALUATION OF THE MERDEKA CURRICULUM AT SMA NEGERI 1 TANJUNGPANDAN, BELITUNG REGENCY
This study was conducted to evaluate the implementation of the Emancipated Curriculum at Public Senior High School 1 Tanjung pandan, Belitung Regency, using the CIPP evaluation model. The research employed an evaluative approach based on the CIPP model, which focuses on four key components: context, input, process, and product. The study involved the school principal, five teachers, two students, and one administrative staff member as research subjects. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed qualitatively using the stages of data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that in terms of context, there was substantial support from various stakeholders, although resource readiness remained a challenge. Regarding input, the study found that teacher training still required enhancement. In the process component, student creativity and participation showed improvement, but more effective classroom strategies were necessary. As for product, the Emancipated Curriculum had positively influenced student learning outcomes, although certain areas still needed attention. Overall, the study concludes that while the Emancipated Curriculum has a positive impact, further improvements are needed in teacher training, resource provision, and the implementation of effective strategies. The study recommends developing sustainable training programs, enhancing resource support, and strengthening curriculum implementation strategies
From Definition to Need: Redefining the Selected Topics in Mathematics Education Course Through Students’ Mastery Profiles
This study aims to analyze mathematics education students’ mastery of high school mathematical content and their readiness to teach it, as a basis for redefining the design of the Selected Topics in Mathematics Education (Kapita Selekta) course. A quantitative descriptive survey design was employed involving 14 mathematics education students at Universitas Kristen Indonesia who were enrolled in the Kapita Selekta II course. Data were collected using a questionnaire that assessed students’ mastery and willingness to learn and teach 32 high school mathematics topics. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the percentage of mastery and non-mastery for each topic. The findings reveal that only 40.13% of topics were mastered, while 59.87% showed a lack of mastery. Students demonstrated stronger understanding in algebraic and symbolic topics such as sequences, exponents, relations, and matrices, but weaker performance in geometry, trigonometry, and calculus-related topics. Despite these gaps, all respondents expressed a willingness to improve their mastery of mathematical content, with 42.9% being very willing and 57.1% willing to do so. These results suggest that the Kapita Selekta course should not be limited to topic selection based on theoretical definitions. Instead, it should be redesigned to respond to students’ actual mastery profiles and learning needs. By aligning course content with diagnostic data, the program can strengthen students’ mathematical competence and pedagogical readiness to teach effectively at the high school level
Ecoexplore Development through Augmented Reality on Ecosystem Topics to Improve Students\u27 Visual Literacy
Development of Ecoexplore (explore nature) through Augmented Reality (AR) on ecosystem material to improve students\u27 visual Literacy. In today\u27s digital era, science learning requires an approach that is more interesting and closer to the real world of students. This research aims to develop an interactive learning media, Ecoexplore, based on Augmented Reality (AR), combined with an approach to exploring the natural environment, particularly focusing on ecosystem materials. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. This media was validated by experts and tested on teachers and junior high school students. The validation results indicate that Ecoexplore is highly feasible to use, and the user response is also very positive. The findings show that using AR technology linked to students\u27 real-life experiences can improve visual literacy and make the learning process more fun, interactive, and meaningful. Metacognitive Skills of Pre-Service Biology Teachers: An Analysis through Laboratory Activities
Metacognitive abilities are a crucial component of the learning process, significantly contributing to the effectiveness of teaching and learning, particularly in preparing future educators. Practicums, as an integral part of science learning, provide opportunities for pre-service biology teachers to practice their metacognitive skills through the process of planning experiments, solving problems, and reflecting on the experimental results. This study aimed to investigate the metacognitive awareness of biology education students in practicum lectures. The study employed a quantitative descriptive design using a survey method, without any treatment applied to the research object. The survey focused on assessing the metacognitive awareness of biology education students during practicum sessions, categorised into two key aspects: knowledge of cognition and regulation of cognition. A total of 112 students participated in this study, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) was utilised as the primary instrument for data collection. The findings revealed that the knowledge of the cognition aspect achieved an average score of 80.3, classified as high. Segmentasi Interaksi Sosial Negative Stereotype di Era Algoritma: : Analisis Dampak Echo Chamber pada Platform Daring
Transformasi digital menciptakan pola interaksi sosial baru yang dipengaruhi oleh algoritma. Studi ini mengkaji segmentasi interaksi sosial dalam ekosistem algoritma, dimana reproduksi stereotip negatif melalui fenomena echo chamber berpengaruh pada Pendidikan Agama Kristen. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat mengantisipasi dampak polarisasi sosial, cyberbullying, dan kekerasan simbolik yang tidak terdeteksi secara langsung. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan kajian pustaka lintas disiplin (teknologi, sosial, dan teologi), penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa fungsi algoritma tidak hanya sebagai alat teknis, tetapi juga sebagai agen sosial yang memperkuat bias dan berkontribusi pada degradasi spiritual melalui konten yang eksklusif dan menstigmatisasi. Kebaruan studi ini terletak pada analisis kritis terhadap algoritma sebagai aktor sosial yang membentuk persepsi dan perilaku, serta relevansinya bagi pendidikan agama Kristen (PAK), dan mengusulkan kerangka kerja 3M yang strategis untuk memitigasi risiko yang ditimbulkan algoritma serta menumbuhkan ketahanan di kalangan pelajar.Transformasi digital telah mengubah pola interaksi sosial secara signifikan. Platform daring berbasis algoritma tidak hanya menjadi ruang pertukaran informasi, tetapi juga ladang reproduksi negative stereotype melalui dinamika echo chamber. Fenomena ini dapat memperkuat bias sosial dan membentuk perilaku diskriminatif yang tak terpantau, termasuk cyberbullying, stigmatisasi, dan marginalisasi identitas. Algoritma memungkinkan interaksi sosial menjadi lebih luas dengan sentuhan personal. Namun, di sisi lain, perubahan ini juga membawa risiko seperti penyebaran informasi palsu, polarisasi sosial, cyberbullying, dan kehilangan privasi. Kurangnya kesadaran kritis terhadap cara kerja algoritma, menjadikan pengguna rentan terjebak dalam ekosistem yang membenarkan negative stereotype sebagai norma sosial masa kini. Kajian ini penting bagi pendidik dan peserta didik pendidikan agama Kristen (PAK) agar memahami bagaimana algoritma dan interaksi digital dapat membentuk persepsi sosial yang memicu eksklusi dan kekerasan simbolik. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif untuk menggali dinamika negative stereotype secara mendalam yang muncul akibat segmentasi interaksi sosial di era algoritma. Temuan penelitian menggunakan kajian pustaka menunjukkan bahwa algoritma tersebut dapat memicu degradasi iman melalui penyebaran konten yang berujung pada cyberbullying serta meningkatkan risiko Echo Chamber. Berdasarkan temuan ini, peneliti merekomendasikan beberapa strategi dalam pendidikan agama Kristen (PAK) untuk mengurangi cyberbullying melalui pendekatan 3M
Pengaruh Variasi Arus Listrik terhadap Struktur Kristal dan Sifat Mekanik pada Baja Karbon M400
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perngaruh variasi kuat arus pada las laser terhadap ukuran krstalit, kerapatandislokasi, regangan kisi dan sifat mekanis pda baja karbon sedang serta kawat filler SKD 61. Peralatan las laser yangdigunakan adalah mold laser welding machine “JAL” model JAL-UK-MW400. Kondisi proses pengelasan laser frekuensi10 Hz, pulse 5,.5, 6.5, dan 7.5 ms, dan kuat arus pengelasan 60, 70, dan 80 A. Kemudian, dilakukan proses PWHTTempering pada temperatur 700°C selama 2 jam. Hasil uji XRD menunjukkan bahwa ukuran kristal meningkat denganpeningkatan kuat arus dengan ukuran kristal tertinggi terdapat pada spesimen dengan kuat arus pengelasan 80 Asebesar 12.8428 nm dan ukuran kristal terkecil terdapat pada spesimen matriks sebesar 8.7155 nm. Akan tetapi, untuknilai kerapatan dislokasi dan regangan kisi mengalami penurunan seiring dengan peningkatan kuat arus pengelasan.Hasil uji sifat mekanik kekerasan dan kuat tarik menunjukkan bahwa setelah melalui proses PWHT terlihat bahwa nilaikekerasan dan kuat tarik mengalami penurunan, dimana sebelum proses PWHT nilai kekerasan dan kuat tarik tertinggiterdapat pada spesimen dengan kuat arus pengelasan 80 A di daerah pusat las, sebesar 388.46 HB dan 1340.187 MPa.Setelah melalui proses PWHT, nilai kekerasan dan kuat tarik tertinggi terdapat pada spesimen dengan kuat aruspengelasan 80 A di daerah pusat las, sebesar 232.07 HB dan 1011.09 MPa.Kata Kunci: Baja Karbon Sedang M400; Kekerasan, Kuat Tarik, Las laser; Struktur Kristal.AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of variations in current strength in laser welding on crystallite size, dislocationdensity, lattice strain, and mechanical properties of medium carbon steel and SKD 61 filler wire. The laser weldingequipment used is the "JAL" mold laser welding machine model JAL- UK-MW400. The condition of the laser weldingprocess is 10 Hz, pulse 5,.5, 6.5, and 7.5 ms, and the welding current is 60, 70, and 80 A. Then, the PWHT-Temperingprocess is carried out at a temperature of 700°C for 2 hours. XRD test results showed that the crystal size increased withincreasing current strength, with the highest crystal size found in specimens with a welding current of 80 A of 12.8428nm, and the smallest crystal size was found in matrix specimens of 8.7155 nm. However, the value of dislocation densityand lattice strain decreased along with the increase in the strength of the welding current. The results of the mechanicalstrength and tensile strength test showed that after going through the PWHT process, it was seen that the hardness andtensile strength values decreased, whereas, before the PWHT process, the highest hardness and tensile strength valueswere found in specimens with a welding current of 80 A in the weld center area, amounting to 388.46 HB and 1340.187MPa. After going through the PWHT process, the highest hardness and tensile strength values were found in specimenswith a welding current of 60 A in the metal parent region, amounting to 292.96 HB and 952.028 MPa.Keywords: Crystal Structure; Hardness; Laser Welding; M400 Carbon Steel; Tensile Strength

The program “I Am Happy Because I Am Not Alone” aims to instill in children the understanding that true happiness does not come from worldly possessions but from a life close to God and in healthy relationships with others. The activity was conducted at Bersinar Orphanage in Jakarta with participants ranging from first to sixth-grade students. The method involved worship, a devotional session based on Matthew 5:1–12, educational games, and the distribution of prizes and certificates. The results show that a spiritual approach combined with interactive activities effectively enhances children’s understanding of genuine happiness, boosts self-confidence, and strengthens social bonding. The participants demonstrated great enthusiasm during the sessions, both in listening to the devotion and engaging in games. For the organizers, this activity also served as a valuable learning experience in ministry, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and social responsibility. Overall, the event successfully created a joyful, meaningful, and faith-building learning atmosphere for the children.Kegiatan “Aku Berbahagia Karena Aku Tidak Sendirian” bertujuan menanamkan pemahaman kepada anak-anak bahwa kebahagiaan sejati tidak bersumber dari hal-hal duniawi, melainkan dari kehidupan yang dekat dengan Tuhan dan relasi yang sehat dengan sesama. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Panti Asuhan Bersinar, Jakarta, dengan peserta anak-anak kelas 1–6 SD. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup ibadah bersama, renungan rohani berdasarkan Matius 5:1–12, permainan edukatif, serta pemberian hadiah dan sertifikat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan rohani yang dikombinasikan dengan aktivitas interaktif mampu meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak terhadap nilai kebahagiaan sejati, menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri, serta memperkuat kebersamaan. Anak-anak menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi selama kegiatan, baik dalam mendengarkan renungan maupun dalam mengikuti permainan. Dari sisi penyelenggara, kegiatan ini juga menjadi sarana pembelajaran pelayanan, kerja sama lintas disiplin, serta penguatan tanggung jawab sosial. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, bermakna, dan membangun karakter iman anak-anak
