A Study on Temperature Measurement Errors due to Inhomogeneity of Thermocouple Elements --Inhomogeneity of Each Thermo-element of Base Metal Thermocouple--
Get PDFFive base metal thermocouples (Type E, J, K, N, T) are heat-treated at 350 degrees Celsius, 840 hours and 400 degrees Celsius, 452 hours. After the heat-treatment inhomogeneity of each thermo-element of five base metal thermocouples is measured. Also the resistance change of each thermo-element due to the heat-treatment is measured. We describe the results of inhomogeneity of the thermo-electromotive force and the resistance change of each thermo-element due to the heat treatment. We discuss a relationship between the thermo-electromotive force due to in homogeneity and the resistance changes.departmental bulletin pape

High Temperature Sensing System--A study on high temperature characteristics of integrated circuits--
Get PDFSemiconductor integrated circuits which can be operated up to 100℃ are required for a high temperature sensing system in the heat resistant unit which maximum temperature is kept at 100℃ by heat of water vaporization. CMOS integrated circuits are recommended for use in the high temperature sensing system because of its small power consumption.
Plastic encapsulated CMOS digital integrated circuits are tested with an acceleration test method. Characteristics of CMOS IC were measured from 100℃ to 150℃. For these temperature CMOS IC worked well, so tests were continued for 1500 hours at 150℃.
Next step the fundamental characteristics of CMOS analogue IC, CMOS and TTL digital IC were measured from room temperature to 180℃ for a short time in order to estimate the possibility of more high temperature operation over 100℃.departmental bulletin pape
