The I/O graph to refine high bar simulations
ln the previous paper [14], an input and output table was proposed to refine high bar simulations, in which the dynamics and the inverse dynamics of high bar exercises were supposed. Moreover, an I/O graph is added to the table in this paper. The I/O graph and the table are expected to work cooperatively in the program. That is, when the graph's value is operated or updated, the table's compatible value is also updated, and vice versa. First, functions and data structures of the program are shown. Second, value update mechanisms between the graph and the table are illustrated. Third, the C++ programming of the I/O graph is described. In conclusion, we proposed and prograrnmed the simulation I/O graph. The graph worked cooperatively with the I/O table.departmental bulletin pape
Study on secondary flow within low aspect ratio steam turbine cascade (phase 2) Flow control technology
In order to develop the performance improving technology for low aspect ratio cascade of the steam turbine, the mechanism of secondary loss generation was investigated using smoke visualization and detailed internal flow measurement in phase 1. Next, in phase 2, flow control technologies such as the blade end fillet, endwall convergence and negative bow were introduced. This paper presents the loss reduction mechanism of these flow control technologies by applying computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and test results of the air model turbine to verify the effects of endwall convergence and negative bow in the rotating flow field. In conclusion, the technologies greatly contribute to improving the performance of the actual steam turbine with low aspect ratio cascade.departmental bulletin pape
Student community activities and development of the educational environment
The Faculty of Human Environment obtained an ISO 14001 authentication in March 2007. We have several purposes in maintaining it. Students take action in engaging in various community activities in conjunction in conjunction with the Shuku-machi Neighborhood Association. We consider the Development of the educational environment to make use of these activities.departmental bulletin pape
Introduction of new course: The first year of "medical electronics course"
In April 2007, the Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science (NiAS) established the "Medical Electronics Course" for the education of medical engineers in the Electric-Electronic Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering.
This paper presents an outline of the Medical Electronics Course and introduces the results of the activities of the course during its first year.departmental bulletin pape
Petri net based flexible control of industrial robots for intelligent manufacturing systems
This paper presents a Petri net based control scheme for flexible control of robotic manufacturing systems. The experimental system is composed of one five-degree industrial robot and several conveyors. The conveyor system transports workpieces sequentially into specified working places, and the robot handles them to build up a product synchronously with the conveyor system. All of the concurrent processes in the system are defined and represented using Petri nets. The control software for discrete event robotic manufacturing processes is implemented in Visual Basic language. Experimental results of system operations are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.departmental bulletin pape
