Overview on Case Study Penetration Testing Models Evaluation
Model evaluation is a cornerstone of scientific research as it represents the findings' accuracy and model performance. A case study is commonly used in evaluating software engineering models. Due to criticism in terms of generalization from a single case study and testers, deciding on the number of case studies used for evaluation and the number of testers has been one of the researchers' challenges. Multiple case studies with multiple testers can be difficult in some domains, such as penetration testing, due to the complexity and time needed to prepare test cases. This study aims to review the literature and examine the evaluation methods used pertaining to the number of case studies and testers involved. This study is beneficial for researchers, students, and penetration testers as it provides case study design steps that are useful to determine the appropriate number of test cases and testers required. The paper's findings and novelty highlight that a single case study with a single tester is enough to evaluate a model. It also strikes a balance between what is enough for the evaluation and the need to reduce criticisms of a single case study by using two case studies with a single tester. Increasing Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and the Requirement for Competence and Training
Many studies have examined the relationship between training and employee job satisfaction, the relationship between employee training and organizational commitment, the relationship between competence and employee job satisfaction, and the relationship between competence and organizational commitment, but there are still many unanswered questions. In particular, research has not explained how training and competence directly affect job satisfaction and managerial competence and how training and competence indirectly affect organizational commitment through job satisfaction. Therefore, this study investigates how training and competence directly affect job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Indirectly, training and competence affect organizational commitment through job satisfaction. Survey-based data collection was collected by purposive sampling, which included 280 employees from BPJS who participated in the training. The findings from the path analysis, along with measurements and structural tests, are very supportive of the employee training program. The findings show that employee training and competence directly affect job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings also show that training and employee competence indirectly affect organizational commitment through job satisfaction. Finally, employee job satisfaction affects managerial competence. Characteristics and Antibacterial Properties of Film Membrane of Chitosan-Resveratrol for Wound Dressing
The research aimed to evaluate the film membrane of Nano Chitosan Resveratrol (NCHR) for biological, physicochemical, and antibacterial properties. Psychochemically, the functional groups of chitosan compounds were examined by FTIR, chemical compounds by GCMS, and the morphology of chitosan and chemical elements by SEM-EDS. Biologically, the characteristics of NCHR were examined by solubility, swelling, permeability, and biodegradation tests. Meanwhile, the antibacterial properties were examined for inhibition of Porphyromonas gingivalis (P. gingivalis) ATCC 33277 by Minimal inhibition concentration (MIC) and growth assessment by spectrophotometry. Nano Chitosan (NCH) has appeared at 1033.85 cm-1 as a sharp peak indicating the P=O group and contains anti-toxicity compounds (Ethane, 1,1-diethoxy- (CAS) 1,1-Diethoxye) is 81.06% and antioxidant compounds Limonene is (1.28%). In addition, NCH has chemical elements, Oxygen Weight (69.4%), calcium (19.7%), magnesium (6.6%), and phosphorus (4.3%). NaCl 0.9%, PBS, and Aquades. In addition, it has an excellent index of water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) in all solvents (R2³ 0.95). The NCHR membrane film is bacteriostatic (≤ 300 CFU/mL) with each value of Minimal Inhibition Concentration (MIC) >15 mm. The Nano chitosan contains antitoxic, antioxidant, and antibacterial compounds with high oxygen elements. The film membrane of nano chitosan resveratrol can maintain the stability of changes in pH with a very high solubility index, swelling index, and WVTR index, as well as good biodegradation and antibacterial properties. Taguchi Experiment Design for DES K2CO3-Glycerol Performance in RBDPO Transesterification
Biodiesel production using novel glycerol and potassium carbonate-based catalysts has not been developed under the Taguchi technique. This study aims to determine the most influential parameter in biodiesel production from refined bleach-deodorized palm oil (RBDPO) using DES K2CO3-Glycerol as the novel catalyst. The raw material was subjected to transesterification at the desired reaction parameters estimated by the orthogonal 16-run (L16) approach with 2 levels and 4 factors of the Taguchi technique. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and ANOVA were used to confirm the predicted value. From the results, the catalyst is the most influential variable in the TG value of biodiesel, placed in the first rank of the influence factor. Biodiesel production with a minimum total glycerol value (0.210%) using DES K2CO3-Glycerol as a catalyst is most optimally produced at 95 °C for 4 h and 400 rpm using 30 wt% methanol and 4 wt% catalysts achieved by the Taguchi technique. How Does Environmental Data from ESG Concept Affect Stock Returns: Case of the European Union and US Capital Markets
This article examines the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance of firms, with a focus on the environmental pillar of the ESG concept. It is believed that the price of equities as well as sector-specific characteristics may be affected by ESG data. It also contributes to the argument that environmental performance and governance quality are related. The purpose of this paper is to statistically validate the separated environmental data from the ESG concept and investigate its impact on the equity price in the EU and the United States. Using simple linear regressions and a fixed effect panel data model, the association between environmental score and governance score, as well as equity price and environmental score, was estimated. This study examines the 500 largest US corporations comprising the S&P 500 index (S&P) and the 600 largest EU companies comprising the STOXX Europe 600 index (STOXX) (SXXP). This article analyzes ESG statistics for the period 2015–2020. The results indicate that a higher government score has a favorable effect on environmental pledges and that changes in stock price depend in part on environmental data. The novel contribution of this paper is that the results suggest a sector-specific contribution to the model, and it would be fascinating to analyze sector disparities and their ESG-related policies in greater detail. Teachers' Perspectives on ICT Curriculum and Students' Learning Skills
Objectives: The role of technology in modern life is expanding rapidly. Educational technology has emerged as a crucial component in raising academic achievement worldwide. Teachers all over the world are now focusing on it. Therefore, this study examined the teachers' perspectives on the ICT curriculum and its effect on students' eLearning skills in the UAE. Methods/Analysis: Researchers used a questionnaire to gather the data to learn more about how technology is being used in UAE Model Schools. There were a total of 150 teachers (60 female and 90 male) from three different Abu Dhabi schools included in the study. In addition, the study used descriptive statistics for the analysis. Findings: The study's findings confirmed that teachers at both institutions use technology in the classroom. Increasing the Effectiveness of Pedagogical Technologies in Education: Psychological Experience of Technological Change Management
This paper investigates the psychology of change management involving a technological change in the educational organization and the administrative and teaching staff. In particular, the paper delineates the staff's psychological experience regarding the incorporation of pedagogical and educational technologies. In this regard, this article provides theoretical support based on the stimulus-organism-response theory, technological self-efficacy, and technological acceptance model and develops a theoretical model. A quantitative approach was applied to test the model, and research assumptions were drawn from the aforementioned theories. Particularly, disruptive statistics and correlation analysis were employed to test the assumption empirically by collecting data from 500 staff members. The research results highlight that a psychological response serves as the antecedent of the effectiveness of pedagogical and educational technologies, whereby the positive psychological responses (happiness, inspiration, or drive) would increase the effectiveness, while the negative psychological responses (anxiety, stress, and discomfort) would decrease it. This psychological response depends on the perceived self-efficacy and perceived ease of use of the staff, whose lower levels of the two raise the negative psychological response. Generally, to increase the effectiveness of pedagogical and educational technologies, it is essential to effectively manage the psychological well-being of the staff by reducing their negative psychological responses and developing their technological competence (self-efficacy and ability to use with ease). Mapping of Sensing Performance of Concentric and Non-Concentric Silver Nanoring
Sensors play a critical role in improving overall human quality of life. They have been employed in most aspects of our lives. A recently emerging sensing platform is based on plasmonic resonance at the boundary of metals and dielectrics. Localized surface plasmon resonances–based sensors offer miniaturization, a simple setup, and relatively high sensitivity for real-time measurements. The reported figure of merit (FOM) of the LSPR-based sensor is generally limited, primarily due to its broad resonance peak. Nanorings composed of metal nanoparticles are known for their broad-range resonance tunability, high field localization, and large sensing area. Asymmetry of the nanoring with the introduction of core offset relaxes the selection rule for mode mixing, thus resulting in a narrower resonance peak. This may overcome broad resonance peak restriction. Concentric and non-concentric nanorings were simulated using the boundary element method implemented with the MNPBEM toolbox. We map the performance of nanoring sensors over a wide range of geometrical variations, namely, diameter, ring shell thickness, and the offset of the inner ring to the center of the outer ring wall (core offset). Sensitivity and FOM were found to rely substantially on the nanoring size parameters. The sensing performance map helps to obtain optimized nanoring parameters for the intended spectral range region. The obtained high sensitivity and FOM are much higher than the data available in the literature over visible and NIR ranges. Return to Face-to-Face Classrooms in Higher Education: Students Experiences in Chile, Venezuela, and Ecuador
Emergency remote teaching (ERE) triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges to higher education institutions worldwide. Although it had several negative consequences, it also enabled advances in the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study was to examine and characterize the key elements of the process of returning to face-to-face courses. The study was based on a mixed quantitative and qualitative design. 631 students from Chile, Venezuela, and Colombia were surveyed about their experiences returning to face-to-face classes (in terms of virtual tools, their feelings, and their expectations for academic success). The survey also included questions about the lockdown caused by the pandemic, specifically regarding instructional and didactic design, participation in online sessions, and the role of faculty during the pandemic. Descriptive and correlative analyses were performed to examine relationships among variables. Qualitative data were analyzed within a hermeneutically-oriented framework. Our analyses show that virtual classrooms or learning management systems (LMS) continued to be used after the pandemic. However, their use is strongly associated with a more traditional approach to teaching; LMSs and virtual classrooms are primarily used as filing locations and for receiving and storing homework assignments and assessments. In terms of interaction, qualitative analyses have shown that relationships with faculty and between students are better in face-to-face classes and that there is not much difference in perceptions of collaborative work in online learning compared to face-to-face classes. Finally, students' expectations of academic success are low in the short term, while they are higher in the long term. Students also indicated that it is important to them that teachers take care about the didactic design of the course, including strategies that encourage interaction and participation in both synchronous and asynchronous sessions. In addition, students mentioned that teachers should incorporate strategies to promote academic motivation, self-regulation, and a safe environment. An important finding of this study is that students prefer a blended learning format when comparing online and face-to-face instruction. Assessing the Impact of Workplace Harassment on Turnover Intention: Evidence from the Banking Industry
Workplace harassment is considered one of the main issues in the banking sector, which is subject to major human and labor rights violations. In the current global situation, harassed employees are prone to high turnover and become less productive due to undue stress and unstable mental health. Thus, this study aims to measure the influence of workplace harassment on the turnover intentions of employees in Pakistan's banking industry. This study assessed how workplace harassment affects employees' silence, mental stress, turnover intention, and the moderating role of psychological contract breaches. The study advises significant measures to prevent assault by retaining and empowering workers to work effectively. The data were collected through an adopted questionnaire from 416 respondents from the banking sector in Lahore, Pakistan. Variance-based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used. The results reveal that workplace harassment significantly and positively impacts turnover intention. Additionally, employee silence and mental stress have significantly mediated the relationship between workplace harassment and turnover intention. However, psychological contract breaches have significantly moderated the relationship between employee silence and workplace harassment.
