    Social Capital in Empowering Forest Communities Through Livelihood Plants Program in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province

    This study aims to analyze and explain social capital in community empowerment through Livelihood plants program in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. This research uses qualitative methods and triangulation data collection techniques, informants consist of village communities, cooperatives and negotiating teams, village governments, local governments, Riau Province Environment and Forestry Service, and companies. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through a narrative approach.  The results showed that the village community did not trust the people working to encourage the community through livelihood plants program. There is no partnership involving the community in forest management, and rules are not followed. weak social capital relationships between the community and business, government, cooperatives, and negotiating groups. Bonding and bridging relationships, however, have positive impacts.  Village communities around forests should be empowered through livelihood plants program crops using social capital. The government, companies, cooperatives and communities should all be actively involved

    Application of Rice Washing Water and Organic NPK To Increase Caisim Mustard Plant (Brassica juncea L) Growth and Production

    The demand for vegetables in Riau Province remains high, but the current production is insufficient. As a result, vegetables are sourced from other regions, such as West Sumatra and North Sumatra. To address this issue, there is a need to increase vegetable production. The study aimed to investigate the impact of concentrated rice washing water and organic NPK application on the growth and production of caisim mustard greens (Brassica juncea L). The study utilized a completely randomized factorial design with two factors. The first factor was rice washing water, which had four treatment levels: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The second factor was organic NPK, which had four treatment levels: no organic NPK, 1.5 g/plant, 3.0 g/plant, and 4.5 g/plant. The parameters observed included the number of leaves, wet weight, economic weight, dry weight, net assimilation rate, and relative growth rate. The study's results indicated that the interaction between rice washing water and organic NPK significantly affected all observed parameters. The best treatment was applying 75% rice washing water and 4.5 g organic NPK per plant. The main effect of rice washing water application was also significant on all observed parameters, with the best treatment being 75% rice washing water. Similarly, the main impact of organic NPK was significant on all observed parameters, with the best treatment being 4.5 g per plant

    Two Types of Sugar Cane (Saccharum officinarum) Murity Varieties Productivity in Different Planting Patterns

    The two varieties, Bululawang and Cenning, exhibit different maturity types. The sugarcane production cycle involves the cultivation of Plant Cane (PC), Ratoon Cane (RC) I, and Ratoon Cane (RC) II cropping patterns, followed by replanting. The objective of this study is to assess the productivity of Bululawang and Cenning varieties when planted as plant cane and ratoon cane. QA conducted the study On Farm PG. Pesantren Baru, located in Plosokidul, Plosoklaten, Djengkol, Ploso Kidul, Kec. Plosoklaten, Kediri, East Java. It took place from July to September 2021. The study compared the two varieties under different cropping patterns. The differences in variables between treatments were analyzed using a T-test at a significance level of 5%. The observations and sample collection were conducted at specific distances from the field's edge, including line 4 (4m), line 5 (12m), line 282 (8m), line 560 (4m), and line 561 (12m). When planted as plant and ratoon cane, the T-test analysis revealed significant differences in stem weight and productivity parameters between Bululawang and Cenning varieties

    Response of Growth and Yield of Samhong King Curly Mustard Greens (Brassica juncea L.) to Land Tillage and Differences in Mulch Application

    Land processing intensively and over an extended period can lead to a decline in cultivated land quality, resulting in suboptimal plant growth. The utilization of mulch is anticipated to enhance soil quality, enabling mustard plants to thrive and yield effectively. This study investigates the most effective type of mulch in conjunction with land tillage to maximize the growth and productivity of Samhong King curly mustard greens. The experiment was conducted at the Mapena Agricultural and Livestock Polytechnic experimental garden from November 2023 to March 2024. A factorial (3x2) experiment was set up in a randomized complete block design with four blocks. The first factor, mulch type, comprised three levels: straw, silver-black, and no mulch. On the other hand, the second factor, land tillage, consisted of two levels: tillage and no-tillage. Observations encompassed growth parameters, harvest variables, and environmental factors. The data underwent statistical analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA), with Tukey's statistic calculated at a significance level of 5%. The findings revealed that the combination of tillage with silver-black mulch application facilitated superior growth and yield of curly mustard greens compared to the application of straw mulch or no mulch with tillage and no-tillage

    Characterization And Genetic Relationship of Several Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) Genotypes from Various Regions

    The research aims to obtain information about the morphological characters and genetic relationships of several tomato genotypes from various regions. The study was conducted from May to October 2023 at the Experimental Garden and Plant Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The research used a randomized block design (RBD) consisting of eight genotypes and four repeats, and 32 experimental units were obtained. The observations were made to observe some qualitative characters. Qualitative data were analyzed using principal component analysis and cluster analysis to see genetic relationships. The results showed that the Magelang genotype (T27) had a high average plant fruit weight of 619.74 g, the Pane tongah (T24) had an average thick fruit flesh of 6.05 mm, the Silimakuta (T22) had an average large fruit size of 63.28 g. In contrast, the Purba (T25) had an average number of large planting fruits of 15.41 pieces. Grouping eight tomato genotypes based on clustering of MC1 and MC2 and cutting the dendrogram at a 90% similarity rate resulted in six groups. Group One consists of three genotypes, specifically Silimakuta (T22), Alahan Panjang (T26), and Magelang (T27). Group Two has Raya (T23), Group Three has Purba (T25), Group Four has Pane tongah (T24), group five has Servo F1 and group six has Ratna. The closest kinship based on the smallest euclidiean distance value is the Silimakuta (T22) and Alahan panjang (T26), with a value of 19.44. The genotypes with the farthest similarity are Raya (T23) and Purba (T25) because they have a 46.24 genetic distanc

    Microgreen ricegrass, recognized for its numerous health advantages, can be ingested as fresh juice due to its rich chlorophyll, flavonoids, and protein content. This study investigates whether applying Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) enhances protein, flavonoids, and chlorophyll levels in microgreen ricegrass. The experimental design employed a non-factorial randomized approach, utilizing LOF concentrations of 0 ml/water, 5 ml/water, 10 ml/water, and 15 ml/water. The seeds selected for this research were from the Inpari 24 Gabusan brown rice variety. The parameters measured included plant height (cm), wet weight (grams), chlorophyll content (mg/L), flavonoid content (mgQE/g), and protein content (µL/g). The findings indicate that the F3 treatment (15 mL/liter of water) resulted in an increase in plant height by 16.29 cm, wet weight by 232.55 grams, chlorophyll a by 33.08 mL/g, chlorophyll b by 41.16 mL/g, total chlorophyll by 74.23 mL/g, flavonoids by 37.32 mgQE/g, and protein by 0.12 µL/g. In conclusion, applying Liquid Organic Fertilizer at a concentration of 15 ml/liter of water significantly enhanced the plant height, wet weight, chlorophyll levels, flavonoid content, and protein concentration in microgreen ricegrass

    Application of Coffee Grounds Organic Fertilizer on The Growth and Production of Cucumber Plants (Cucumis sativus L)

    Cucumis sativus L, commonly known as cucumber, is a creeping vine plant and a member of the Cucurbitaceae family known for producing fruit-bearing vegetables. Cucumis sativus plants originate in the Asian continent, specifically in North and South Asia. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the development and yield of cucumber plants, focusing particularly on the impact of varying doses of organic fertilizer derived from liquid coffee grounds. Specifically, the study seeks to assess the effects of these treatments on plant height, time to flowering, time to harvest, and the weight of the fruit produced by cucumber plants. This study was conducted within the idyllic housing complex from March to May 2024. The research used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with a single factor. The dosage parameters for coffee grounds fertilizer are as follows: P0 serves as the control group, P1 involves a dosage of 25 ml per plant, P2 utilizes a dosage of 50 ml per plant, and P3 applies a dosage of 75 ml per plant. The findings indicated that the various fertilizer treatments had a noteworthy impact on plant height, flowering age, harvest time, and fruit weight, suggesting a significant interaction between the two variables. Applying 75 ml of coffee grounds fertilizer per cucumber plant yields the best outcomes in promoting increased plant height, earlier flowering, shortened harvest time, and greater fruit weight in cucumber plants

    Increasing Red Chili Plants (Capsicum annuum L) Growth Rate by Administering Photosynthetic Bacteria (PSB) Fertilizer and NPK Fertilizer

    Red chili is a significant horticultural crop in Indonesia. The goal is to determine how photosynthetic bacterial fertilizer (PSB) and NPK fertilizer impact the growth rates of plants. This research took place from March 2024 to June 2024. This study employed a quantitative research method, specifically using a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with an intensity factor (I) (0, 200, 300, and 400 ml/plant) and a fertilizer type factor (P) consisting of 2 factors. Specifically, there were 8 treatments with 3 replications each, resulting in a total of 24 experiments involving 120 plants. These treatments included doses of 0 and 10 grams per plant. We made observations when the red chili plants were between 1 and 7 weeks after planting (WAP), focusing on parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, and growth rate. Data was analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) to identify significant differences, followed by a 5% level test (DMRT). According to the results of additional tests at 7 weeks after planting (WAP), it was found that the combination of photosynthetic bacterial fertilizer (PSB) and NPK fertilizer had a positive impact on plant height. The best results were observed in plants treated with 300 ml of PSB fertilizer and 10 g of NPK fertilizer per plant, with an average height of 57.80 cm and an average of 70.67 leaves per plant. The combination of fertilizers, with P1I2 treatment being the most effective, is capable of enhancing the growth and development of red chili plants

    The Effect of Artificial Crossing on The Yield of Several Corn Varieties (Zea mays L.)

    Corn is one of the food crops cultivated in Indonesia. Efforts to increase corn production can be done in various ways, one of which is by artificial crossbreeding. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Teuku Umar University from November 2020 to March 2021. The experimental design used in the study was a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 replications. The factors observed for Corn Varieties in the vegetative phase were: (1) Pulut Uri (P), (2) Srikandi Kuning (K), and (3) Srikandi Ungu (U). If the F test is significantly different, it is continued with the smallest significant difference test (LSD) with a level of 5%. The results of the study showed that the artificial crossbreeding of U♀ x P♂ (Srikandi Ungu♀ x Pulut Uri♂) was significantly different in the parameters of the diameter of the husked cob and the length of the cob without the husk.     Financial technology is a combination of technology and the financial industry which aims to create innovation in financial services and help improve the efficiency and quality of services provided by the financial industry. The first aim of this research is to use the application in paying zakat through the application at Baznas Kuansing by the people of Central Kuantan. The second objective is the perception of the people of Central Kuantan in paying zakat through the BAZNAS Kuansing zakat application. The population in this study was the people of Central Kuantan, totaling 49,702 people. The sampling technique used the Slovin formula was 44 people. The object of this research was the Central Kuantan community. collection techniques using observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques from this research are descriptive qualitative with a percentage formula. The results of this research can be concluded that the perception of the people of Central Kuantan towards financial technology is paying zakat through the BAZNAS Kuansing zakat application. namely the ease of use of Financial Technology for Zakat Payments through the Zakat Baznas Kuansing Application.
